So, I was reading six novel and this part made me laugh:

“Looks like the other side’s no slouch, either,” the voice said, its tone tense. “If your mental powers beat it, we should’ve gone back where we were the second you sliced into that thing. But since it didn’t play out that way, this could be trouble. You can kill this thing over and over, and it’ll just keep coming.” D’s reply was placid. “Still, it has to die eventually. Even if it’s just an illusion.”

So... This is how I see this scene:

I just ended "Demon Deathchase" and... omg, i have so many questions.

I can close my eyes to the fact that in the novel the Marcus brothers turned out to be rapists and scumbags, I can even come to terms with the fact that Leila began to fall in love with D, but what I really can't understand … Here is a girl, a master of her craft. She can do anything with cars. Cars obey her as if they were part of her body. She is an unsurpassed mechanic who can build any mechanism out of shit and sticks. What will she do after she is released from the "supervision" of the brothers? Maybe she will go to the Capital and start rebuilding it? Maybe she will start building cars for sale? Maybe she will at least become the best mechanic in Frontier? NO. SHE. HAS GONE. TO SEARCH. THE MAN. THAT WANTED TO MARRY HER. What the hell? It seems that D is a hypnotoad. If he said that "you're a girl, do women's business" - it's like a curse. Even the most gifted master will hide her talent and go looking for a husband, have children and so on.

Also, Mayerling is so nice. I will believe that anime is a bigger canon than a novel. And that he and Charlotte (why, by the way, Kikuchi at least did not give her a name in the novel) survived and built a castle on Mars.
