I'm just trying to pick up all these tiny little pieces of my heart off the ground. This struck a chord.
Just as he was about to lock up, the door creaked open. A gust of cold night air followed the figure of a man who stepped in quietly, his presence immediately commanding the room. There was something about him – an energy, a kind of quiet intensity that made Sanji straighten up, as if subconsciously preparing for something to happen.
He carried himself like someone who had seen things, someone who had been places most people avoided.
Sanji was instantly intrigued.

“So, hey, how are you and Law doing? You guys seem very happy.”
“We’re great!” Luffy answers with a beaming grin. “Happy, yeah! It feels like I’ve known him forever. Wicked, huh?”
“They always say that’s how it should feel,” Sanji comments, smiling softly at his friend. “It’s really great to see Law happy in a relationship. I’ve never known him not single, but he has a lot to give.”
“Traf’s the best. Glad he let me scoop him up.” Luffy gives Sanji a knowing look. “Is that how it felt with you and Zoro? Like forever, right?”
Suddenly, Sanji feels all too naked under his friend’s probing gaze. He scratches the back of his head with a small, awkward laugh. “I don’t know if I’d describe it that way…”
“But you’re friends again, right? You fixed things? I can tell,” Luffy comments further, swallowing the last of his churros and wiping his hands on his shirt. “Zoro’s doing better.”
“Yeah. I think he is too,” Sanji replies, glancing over to where Zoro and Law are approaching them, the former happily carrying his beloved beer flight in hand. “And I think we’re doing okay as friends.”
“Are you happy?” Luffy asks with a smile.
Sanji’s expression softens as he makes eye contact with Zoro. As much as it hurts to be on Zoro’s periphery, he’s content to still be in his orbit. “Yeah, I think I am.”
