About a year and a half ago I had this dream where scientists decided to genetically modify dolphins to have arms and legs. They likely hoped to be able to better understand dolphins or teach them sign language. The dolphins looked like this, they were rather small in stature and they just... stood or sat around. They made no noises and only reacted to things without making any effort to do anything themselves. I remember feeling horrified and sad in the dream and the feeling persisted even after waking up.
