Hello! Apologies for the long period of silence! I have been a *bit* busy taking care of the farm, the Tiny Tyrant Terror (aka, Leocadia🙄) and... *drum roll, please* . . . finishing my mum's #quilt!!! I am so proud of this one😍, it fits over a twin size bed, and is soooo pretty! I used cotton fabric, thread, and batting from @joann_stores The batting is an organic cotton, sturdy, easy to lay out, and is thin enough for me to sew on my 8 year old #brothersewingmachine All that's left to do is wash it, iron it out, fold it up, wrap it, and gift it to my mum❤🎂 But keep this between you and me! Mum doesn't know about it!🦊🤫🤐

I'm quite liking how the #goldfoilwashi adds a bit of shine to my humble drawings. Happy May 1st! I've gotten a couple more #bulletjournal #weeklylayouts done for the month of #May and I'm showing a recap of what I've done so far. I continued the #rainbowtheme I had started in April. Seeing such bright colors makes me smile every time I open my #bujo to update my info and review what needs to be done.🦊❤📖 For the 3rd week of May, I decided on a bright paisley print that I painted with #watercolorpencils, then I covered it in #vellumpaper, drew my latout, and edged the borders with strips of silver #washitape 💖 The 4th week of May features a very special piece that Leocadia painted just for my #bujo 😍 She saw that I was using #rainbowcolors and painted a background with her prettiest colors.🌈 I had her help me overlay the background with vellum paper and drew the layout. Then she picked out her favorite #washi for borders and accents. We are qyite a creative team! Well, nostalgia kicked me in the patoot today! I found some old photos from my senior photo shoot. I was 16 when they were taken and 17 when I graduated HS and then started college. This has been my WIP over the last few days. My friend, the fabulous @brimalaspino , has done beautiful Mehndi work and she inspired me to try doing a mandala for my #bulletjournal * The mandala was drawn with a #sakuramicron pen and, accented with gold foil #washitape , and then colored with #watercolorpencils * Since I didn't want to cover up and mar all the intricate work I had just done, I used thin vellum to create my weekly spread overlay. Easter was nice this year. Leocadia's aunt cooked Easter dinner. I got to see my nephews and Leocadia had a blast. But something has been bugging me about my interactions with people Sunday. I always feel obligated to blend in, to be pleasant. For me, that can be a lot of work and is physically and emotionally draining. A family member, at one point, was having difficulty get up from a sitting position on the floor and I suggested trying yoga. She laughed and asked if I had done it. I said yes, I did it for years, and my last class was at xmas. I've done yoga for years and I'm still limber enough to do some difficult poses well, despite the fact that I'm not skinny. Thet challenged me they told me to prove it. They didn't believe me. And I was expected to immediately start doing yoga poses for these people without centering myself.😑 Now, this should have raised red flags and questions then, but being me, I wasn't thinking about that, just trying to fit in. I realized they were laughing at me. They were belittling me. Why? I've noticed that this has become a trend with them. They constantly question my statements and do not ever believe a word I say. And more often than not, they laugh at what I say. I can't say they hurt my feelings, because they didn't. I can say I am embarrassed that I allowed these people to laugh at me. I have nothing to prove to them, or anybody really, and I need to remind my self of that. So, to my doubters and naysayers- Here's a challenge for you: go to a yoga class with me. And then come to my farm and do all the work I do. Carry 50 pound sacks of feed, bales of hay, chase down cattle and sheep, wade through muck and mire to shoot snakes, chop down diseased trees, feed babies and care for the sick. And do everything else I do while I also raise a child by myself. And then create the things I do on a daily basis. I have nothing to prove to you. I'm a badass. I prove that to myself every day.
Let's all give some love for this lovely lady today! Ms. Glorier has been working for #homedepot (store 747)for 20+ years! Today she managed to color match the paint for the bathroom, even after a year of mod resets and new paint colors. I am so thankful for the people in my town like Ms. Glorier. They keep me sane! 😊
Here are the #goodies I found during my #targetrun and my #happyplace @michaelsstores 😊 The @scotchproducts Washi tape and Washi spools on top were from Target. I found the small tube in the #targetdollarspot. I was hoping to find more, but it was the only one. On my trip to Michael's craft store, I found they had a buy two, get one free deal going on, plus I had a 20% off my entire purchase coupon! So I picked out three packs of #washitape , a some #watercolorpencils , a #pigmamicron 0.25 pen, and a set of #aquabrushes to try out in my #bulletjournal 🦊❤ 📖📚✏✒🖋🖊🖌

It's been a long day, but I had a lovely dinner at Cracker Barrel with Leocadia and out guest, Kendall! I spent some time in Toys R Us to see what fun stuff I could find.. The store only had 10% off the majority of stuff, American Girl was also 10% off and the place was decimated! There were tons of Wellie Wishers Camilles and when I asked about purchasing a display doll, I was told they weren't being sold; despite all the display cases obviously empty and the dolls gone, except for the two I asked about. 😑 TL;DR: TRU was crazy, crap help, no doll stuff. #toysrus #toysrusclosing #agig #welliewishers #americangirl #americangirlbrand #kendalldoll #dinnerwithdaughter #cantgetgoodhelpthesedays

No matter what project I'm working on (I have several right now, so please excuse the mess😨), Dollar always sits near me and chews on his beef bone. My #constantcompanion , he keeps my feet warm at night when he takes up the majority of my bed, he protects Leocadia, he scares coyotes away, and is a #spoiledrottendog But as soon as my brother comes home for a visit, Dollar quickly becomes his #bigpuppy Traitor. 🤣
