This is going to be confusing because I haven't actually SEEN The Goldfinch yet (I watched like... one scene from someone posting on Tumblr) but I kind of want a Boris!Richie Reddie fic??? But I could also take a twin fic (I think there's only one fic in the world rn) where maybe Boris visits and flirts with Eddie and Richie is like HEY.

Listen, I had a femme reddie dream last night.

Eddie (Edith) recently moved to Derry and her mother made her sign up for the 'proper girls club,' led by Myra. She absolutely hates it but she doesn't know anyone else.

She glumly follows the group around school and Myra, intentionally, leads to pass Richie (Rachel), to say something like "I can't believe they still let DYKES in this school."

To which Richie response with something like "say what you want but I can make a girl come more times than their boring ass missionary boyfriends wish they could."

The proper girls are flabbergasted but Eddie snorted, which Richie caught.

Myra tries to bicker but ends up leaving in a huff, while Richie shouts out (and makes eyes with Eddie), "I'm a guitarist you know, I know what to do with my fingers."

Anyway, I guess they officially meet and Eddie hangs around Richie's group (while secretly ditching the proper girls and without her mother knowing) and yeah gay romance.

Richie: you got married and divorced? To, what, a woman?

Eddie: no, a man actually.

Richie: you... wait what? Excuse me? A man? You mean I could have shoot my shot when we were kids?! Are you kidding me?

Ghost!Stan: I fucking told you bitch

Picture a normal reddie au where Richie drives Eddie up to the Kissing Bridge on a date and it's awkward but sweet and my heart ;;

And Eddie is like so you brought us here to make out?

Richie: NO, NO, IT'S NICE OUT HERE THAT'S ALL

Eddie: ... well I'm here to make out with you so...??

Reddie sounds like they'd argue themselves into a date.

Richie: Well fine, if you think I wouldn't be a good boyfriend, I'll take you on a date and you'll see!

Eddie: Fine! Then we'll find out. I'm free tonight!

Richie: Good! I look forward to it!

Eddie: Well, me too!

Stan: ...you're both so annoying

I like to picture whenever Eddie goes on a tirade, he'd squeak and stop instantly if Richie gets really close.

Imagine Reddie finally getting together, only Eddie's worried about their first date because this'd be the same Richie who laughed so hard milk came out of his nose at lunch, and he'll be picking him up tonight and would this even be romantic or will it just feel like no spark??

Cut to Richie pulling all the stops by dressing really nice, being very gentlemanly and thoughtful... I don't care which reddie age you go because this could be incredibly sweet but also Bill Hader would also be endearing, I CANT DECIDE

I need a fic where the Losers beat IT the first time and Bev still got her future visions and now she just watches Reddie start getting closer and closer (with a little help) until she's at their wedding, just like she envisioned ♡
