I agree with the linked TikTok below. I've previously thought Elain will end up in the Day Court to learn more about her Seer powers and that lines up well with Lucien ending up there to learn about his heritage / powers too.

I also hate this theory sooo damn much. Gwyn's grandaddy likely just a sentry or noble that lives in the Forest House and is nobody special, and her daddy is some rando who went to Sangravah to get laid and is also a nobody.

I'll be surprised if SJM even gives a name or background to either of them. But I don't think they're important to Gwyn's story and growth and they will remain nameless, just like Papa Acheron.

In the classic SJM fashion, we now have a shitty throwaway scrap which booktok has turned into Eris VanGrandfather, Lucien VanFather/Cousin/Brother, Beron Van[insert your favorite family relation here], effectively leaving us with the VanSweetHomeAlabama verse. I don’t usually ship shame but Nyxlin is gross no matter how you spin it. You guys are weird for that one.

Every time I see someone bring up how Feyre admired the visual contrast between Elain and Azriel (i.e "Death and the Lovely Fawn") all I can think about is the fact that she once admired the similar contrast between herself and Tarquin before ultimately realizing that she can't be with someone who doesn't contain the same darkness as her. She realizes that she needs someone who is not her contrast, but her match. Someone whose soul is made of the same stuff.

Pale and thin, Elain stood atop the stairs. Their gazes locked and held. But Elain said nothing. Did not so much as take one step downward. Lucien inclined his head in a bow, the movement hiding the gleam in his eye—the longing and sadness.

Lucien, haggard and bloody, panting for breath. As if he’d run from the shore. His gaze settled on Elain, and he sagged a little.
