Can I just say it is wonderful to finally have some in-universe pseudoscience about the akumatizations! Aglae genuinely believes sage will ward off the bad energy that attracts akumas and carries a stalk of it around like it’s a rosary. Sensational stuff that could have real implications about how the citizens of Paris handle the possibility of them or their loved ones being targeted by a demonic butterfly! In a world where people literally die and are brought back to life on a regular basis, I’d love to see more examples of personal superstitions or even whole societies based around their shallow understanding of the miraculous’ mythos.

so I think there’s an early version of amelie fathom who dared to talk back. who, thanks to her sister, knew how to quip. amelie is quick witted and sharp, after all. and I think that’s where my mind goes, that moment before she’s first hit. you never expect it, sometimes you’re ironically smiling, like you’ve actually won. and then your ear is ringing and there’s bile in your throat and if this is real, why isn’t she in her body anymore? weightless, floaty, like when her and emilie would hang their heads upside down from tree branches.
The Stranger has that quote like, the best thing the condemned can hope for is that the blade doesn’t fail the first time. I think she suffers that long, protracted death. I think a lot about that moment, the last one where she thinks she might be able to handle Colt.
The parallel with Ladybug protecting Cat Noir in the first episode of the first arc to him being more capable and experienced with his abilities that now he knows how to handle the train on his own while talking about how passionate he is about his hero work. 😭😭😭

There is dirt under Adrien’s fingernails.
He turns the tap on; it scalds, makes his skin feel like it’s peeling off. Layer by layer. Slow, methodical. Soap, a brush, and he scrubs his hands like the animal that he is, that he has become.
A knock on the door. Someone is calling his name. When did they start?
“—drien? Adrien! You’re going to be late for school.”
He can’t go. Not like this. Not with dirt under his nails and ashes on his hands and the truth written all over his face.
“Do you hear me, Adrien?”
He turns the water off, quieting the roaring in his ears. A lump in his throat. He’s learned to speak around it.
“Yes, Nathalie,” he tells the door. “I hear you.”
Even through the wood, he can feel the way she considers him. Head tilting to the side, fingers hovering over that tablet of hers.
“Be ready soon,” she finally says. “The limo is waiting downstairs.”
Ready. For school, for life. What does it mean to be ready? Preparation, surely. Strength, courage. Knowledge. That, Adrien has in spades.
He dries his red, red hands on a towel. Opens the door. Avoids locking eyes with his reflection.
“Gotta get a move on, kid,” Plagg says from his pillow. “Don’t wanna miss breakfast, do you? Most important meal of the day, or that’s what I’ve heard.”
“Plagg,” says Adrien, “are you real?”
