It is so heartbreaking to see.

He knows this is it, that he’s about to die, and yet he is smiling. Smiling in pure bliss.

Smiling because he couldn’t be any happier than where he is in that moment. To hell with wherever he ends up, because in his mind he’s thinking, “this is love. I love her. She’s okay. It could’ve been more, but this will do, it has to do. I’m ready.”

He is beaming.

And then you see as he loses life, the smile slowly fades, his grip on Rey loosens.

He let’s go.

I know the ending sucks for Ben. But please realize, he sacrificed himself for her. He was finally with the girl he loves even if it was just for a little bit. The girl who accepted him and saw the good in him. His choice was an act of love. I just thought what he did was beautiful and so brave. Ben solo truly was the heart and soul of this trilogy ❤️
