this one's by the wonderful @samisnotlegend !!! based off of my very random and very silly redraw of TMG's broke bitch music video, it's a fic where both bkdk are broke due to different life experiences and shortcomings. they reunite and be broke ... but together! i love this fic so much, it hasn't updated in a while which is totally ok, no pressure at all, but i love when bkdk are actually not all that on-top of things and are struggling like any normal adult would. it adds a layer of humanity to them LOL otherwise they'd be perfect don't u think?
the writing here is also amazing, it really makes u feel for them and the situations they went through to get here. bkdk being financial disasters is just ... MWAH am i a sadist for wanting them to suffer tremendously but find love through that pain KHJFHJKGFS anyway please give the fic lots of love!!!

I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH HUHUHU it might be ... gasp ... my favorite?!?! (tied with "no raisins? how about a date?" ofc, since that one cannot be beat...) this fic is about bkdk emailing each other for a pen pal assignment, where they practice each others' fluent languages! bkg practices english (living in japan) and deku practices japanese (living in the US). it's so funny and charming, with how the two characters express themselves through email etiquette! i love the little quirks and jokes here and there, and how their relationship progression is so palpable and adorable and honest, and GOD it makes me want to have some pen pal overseas so i can write to them and fall in love LMAO
i am always sitting on the edge of my seat for a new update. please PLEASE give it a shot, even if fics that don't write in standard prose usually turn u away. i promise this fic writes like a normal fic at times too. just. it's so Gud

such an adorable fic !!! it's about bkdk doing that whole "a penny for your thoughts" thing, where u give someone a penny for them to tell u what's on their mind at the moment. the concept is so fucking cute and ofc it's a million times cuter with bkdk, where in canon their thoughts are so damn constipated!!! i really like how genuine they are in this fic, and how despite their history, they still can't help but tell the truth to each other. and u know me LOL i'm a sucker for fluff and happy endings, especially with bkdk, bc uhhhhh those two can NOT catch a break in canon
i would recommend this fic to anyone who likes cute bkdk oneshots where the story ends like a cute present, tied with a bow <:) the story weaves and winds and the payoff is very predictable, but does not at all diminish the impact! give it a go >:)

i’d be remiss if i didn’t include my current favorite bkdk fic!!! i drew something for it!!! i’ve read it like 40 times!!! i can practically recite what happens in it scene by scene!!! it lives in my head rent free!!!
deku realizes that he has a crush on bakugou and tries asking him out on a date, but he fails wonderfully in every way imaginable. bakugou is extremely dense and can’t seem to pick up on any of the signs. it’s absolutely adorable and hilarious at the same time -- frankly any bkdk fic from supercrunch is a recommendation from me -- and it’s such a joy to read from start to finish! characters are in-character in the most ridiculous ways. it makes me want to give them support and also strangle them for being idiots. i love it so much.

“Gah-! Fuck!!” Snotlout hissed as Eret pinned his hand to the table with a thunk. The small gathering of vikings around him cheered, some threw their hands up in defeat as Eret claimed another arm-wrestling victory.
“That’s three for me,” Eret proclaimed, releasing Snotlout and turning to his small crowd of gamblers, “Eret, Son of Eret remains undefeated!”
He was met with slaps on the back and roars of approval.
Eret and Snotlout’s Arm-Wrestling-Feud had become an almost nightly event over the last couple of days. Ever since they had first tried to out-dance each other in the Great Hall nearly a fortnight ago, it was the evenings in Toke’s Tavern that had occupied Eret’s thoughts the most.
“What’s got you smiling like that?” Astrid had cooed when he’d passed her in the stables earlier that day.
“Definitely all the stone I have to transport to the west-side this morning,” Eret had shot back playfully.
Eret gulped down the rest of his mead now, as he accepted another tankard from one of his supporters. It tasted sweeter these days. “I believe I’ll be accepting my gold now?” Eret smirked at Snotlout, who was shaking his head at him in mock-disbelief.
“Snotlout, what’re ya doin’, boyo?” an older man, Snotlout’s dad, if Eret recalled, slammed a fist across from them, making rings form in their mead. “Jorgensons don’t lose.”
Snotlout rubbed his hand, looking down at his father’s words, lips tightening. Eret paused. He wasn’t about to admit to Spitelout, in front of the people who had placed bets on them, that they’d been amping up the theatrics of their matches to garner a crowd. Eret turned abruptly, “What do you say, Jorgenson? Best of five?” He placed his elbow back on the table, fingers outstretched.
Snotlout’s eyes flashed his signature blue flame, “Oh, it’s on, Son-of-Eret,” He smirked.
Their hands clapped together as Sigrid the Solid, their referee, reinstated the rules for newcomers with her hands on theirs to ensure no foul play. Once bets were placed, most of them in Eret’s favour, Sigrid lifted her hands from theirs, howling to start the match.
Snotlout’s muscles tensed as he wavered against Eret’s force. He didn’t go down easy, Eret gave him that. Although tonight, he seemed distracted.
“You don’t normally lose this much,” Eret smirked, “It’s almost impressive.”
“Stop batting your big brown eyes at me, then maybe I won’t,” Snotlout grit his teeth. This time he was staring almost intently at their fists, whereas before his gaze had wandered. Eret huffed at the remark. He was going down.
“Getting distracted?” Eret cocked an eyebrow.
Snotlout grinned, “D’you want me to be?”
They locked eyes. Eret’s heart leapt in his chest as he realised his hand was being lowered to the table, their hands warm in each other’s grip. He scoffed, “Hope you’re not trying to- mnh… fight dirty?”
Sweat had formed on Snotlout’s brow, softly glistening in the torchlight. “And what would you do if I did?”
Eret looked down with a curled lip and exhaled, in fear he might catch flame. His eyes landed instead on Snotlout’s bicep, the muscle twitching and flexing underneath his skin. A map of Hookfang’s teeth littered it in ivory scars. Perhaps it was the mead, or the strength he had to use, but Eret felt the heat inside him rise. Gods, he thought, I might actually catch fire.
Although his arms looked soft, when Snotlout’s arm flexed one could notice it was all muscle. Years of wrangling a five-thousand pound dragon could do that to a man.
Eret’s heart dropped as he felt the back of his wrist press into the wooden table. Snotlout's sabotage had worked. The crowd around them, which had grown, gave a collective shout of surprise as Snotlout broke his losing streak. The Jorgenson stood on his chair and revelled in the praise, chanting his signature, “Snotlout Snotlout, oi oi oi! Take that, Son of Eret!”
Eret rolled his eyes and leaned back in his stool. “Need I remind you, best of five?”
“Oh- yeah! Right!” Snotlout scrambled back down. They locked hands once again. “You ready to lose again?” He drawled.
“Are you?”
“Alright, lads, you know the rules,” Sigrid boomed, “Round two in… three… two…-”
“-...Eret?”
Eret pricked up at the voice. Snotlout instantly thunked Eret’s hand onto the table and the crowd roared, but the arm wrestle was now far down on his list of attention. He searched the crowd wildly, until his eyes picked a familiar face. Eret rose to his feet. His hand left Snotlout’s.
It couldn’t be.
“Hey-? Hey, Eret,” Snotlout called, waving his hands in confusion, “You just lost on purpose?”
Some of the crowd parted and turned to follow Eret’s gaze. Engrossed in the match, nobody except maybe Toke had noticed a group of strangers enter Toke’s Tavern. They held no weapons, but looked warily at the vikings, who gave cautious glances back. “Well, well,” Eret grinned in recognition, “Look what the yak dragged in.”
The leader of the group had a white fur that draped across his body, and his eyes glittered a dark blue. A beam spread across his wide face. “Eret , Son of Eret!” He bellowed, stepping forward with open arms, “As I live and breathe!”
“My friend, it’s good to see you!” Eret exclaimed, and rushed into the handshake, which turned into an aggressive embrace. “What brings you all the way out here?”
“Ahem!” Snotlout cleared his throat, appearing beside them almost as if he had jumped from one space in time to another. Eret pulled away, but didn’t take his eyes off his friend. “And just who,” Snotlout eyed up the stranger and jabbed a finger at him, “In the Nine Hels, are you?”

Gym "buddies"
Izuku's life changes the moment All Might gives him his gym membership card; he assures him he doesn't need it anymore (he's retired after all) and wants him to use it instead.
Izuku is a quirkless young man whose job is making support gear and suits for pro heroes, however, since he often wears them and tries them himself, he likes to keep himself in good condition. So far, he's been training at home, but now he has the opportunity to go to a proper gym.
He thanks the symbol of peace, hugs him, and leaves with excitement in his eyes.
However, his enthusiasm vanishes when he arrives and realizes that there are only two kinds of people in that place: very rich ones and pro heroes.
And he doesn't belong to any of those groups. After a while he decides to stay since All Might even called the place to let them know Izuku was going instead of him.
He can't disappoint him now.
Nervous, he looks around only to see Uravity and Pinky talking happily to each other; part of Izuku wants to get closer to them and ask for an autograph, but he decides to control himself.
It's not like any of them could recognize him; the pro heroes don't have the time to go in person and ask for repairs to the support department, instead, they send assistants or people who work in their respective agencies to leave the suits.
Of course, there are exceptions, there always are.
"Midoriya!"
Izuku gets slightly startled as he notices Ingenium, waving at him before walking towards where he is.
He's one of the few heroes who has met Izuku.
"Ingenium-san, hi!"
"Please, we've talked about this, just call me Iida."
He nods, cheeks turning slightly pink as he notices the pro heroes around looking at them both with curiosity.
He relaxes as soon as Iida starts talking with him, asking about his job in general and answering Izuku's enthusiastic questions about his latest missions; he's used to those already.
The next day, Uravity introduces herself and upon realizing Izuku has worked on her hero suit, she starts looking at him with admiration and awe; he doesn't think there's anything about him worth admiring, but he doesn't point that out.
He gets to know a lot of pro heroes at that gym and none of them have tried to kick him out so far, even though he doesn't quite belong there.
Izuku's first week is amazing, and he believes there's nothing that can change his mind about it until the second week.
Turns out Dynamight goes to that gym too.
Actually, he's one of the current pro heroes Izuku admires the most, so Izuku is tempted to get closer at first, until he notices the explosive hero has been staring at him the whole time since he arrived.
He can't read the blond's expression, but he assumes Dynamight doesn't like him that much so Izuku decides to keep his distance from him.
He chooses a treadmill that's at the other side of the room to get started. Izuku takes a deep breath, relaxes, and closes his eyes for a few seconds until he hears someone pressing buttons on the treadmill next to him.
He almost falls off when he notices Dynamight. However, Izuku recovers quickly and decides to pretend nothing happened.
Although he swears he can feel the blond's red eyes on him the whole time.
After a while, he goes to one of the leg press machines before he notices that Dynamight is following him closely.
"You work for Hatsume."
Alright, now that he's talking to him, Izuku can't keep pretending he doesn't exist so he turns around to face him. The guy is not only taller but clearly stronger than him.
"Yes, I'm–"
"Midoriya Izuku, I know," Dynamight cuts him off, looking like he didn't mean to. His face turns a little bit pink.
"How do you know that?" He blurts out, genuinely curious.
The pro hero starts rubbing the back of his neck like he's nervous, and he looks away from Izuku for a moment before answering his question.
"I go to her lab often because I like to know exactly what's done to my suit," he admits. "I saw you for the first time a few months ago; Hatsume told me she had a new, very talented employee and that he was the one working on my gauntlets. I got closer to ask you personally what the hell you were doing to my stuff, but you were so happily focused I couldn't... interrupt you."
Izuku notices then, the fond smile curling up the corners of Dynamight's lips, and he regrets glancing at him because he looks very handsome when he actually smiles.
"Uhh..."
"I kept going after that, but you were always so focused on your work you never noticed me," the pro hero continues, pouting a bit. He's so used to the attention he probably doesn't like when he doesn't get it.
"I'm sorry, Dynamight-san..."
"I'm Katsuki, and I want you to call me by my name, Izuku."
His own name on the pro hero's lips sounds so intimate, Izuku blushes immediately. It's even worse when Katsuki notices and smirks at him.
"Ka..." Even trying it makes him feel flustered, so of course he immediately screws it. "Kacchan!"
The pro hero looks back at him in confusion and Izuku is seriously thinking about giving All Might his membership back and never going back to that place when Katsuki chuckles as he puts a hand on his shoulder.
"Fine, you can call me that if you want."
After that Katsuki always follows him whenever he's in the gym at the same time Izuku is; he even helps him when Izuku struggles to figure out new machines and makes a very intense workout routine for him.
Izuku is sure they're very good friends now, and he often laughs at his past self for believing Katsuki hated him.
He used to think he had a bad temper, but turns Bakugo Katsuki is a very sweet guy, although Izuku knows it's better not to say that out loud.
The most surprising thing about pro hero Dynamight is that he's rather clumsy, which is really weird considering he's so precise during his battles (Izuku has watched a few of those) but at the gym he's constantly dropping things and bumping into machines, especially when Izuku has his back on him and bends over to do a particularly difficult exercise.
It's so odd.
He hears a noise behind him and turns around only to find Katsuki on the floor, face red and a little bit of blood coming from one of his nostrils.
"Kacchan, are you alright?"
"He's fine, Midobro!" Kirishima grins, looking quite amused.
"What happened?"
"He got distracted by your... leggings."
Izuku looks at Red Riot in confusion before looking down at his legs; the leggings are not that bright, they're dark red and not flashy at all. He wonders what was that interesting about them that got Katsuki distracted.
"I see that leg day has been really good on you, bro," Kirishima points out, following Izuku's eyes. "You have very thick–"
"SHUT THE HELL UP, SHITTY HAIR!" Katsuki growls, rising from the ground before standing in the middle of Izuku and Kirishima. "Do you want to die?"
"Calm down, Bakubro!" Kirishima chuckles, looking quite relaxed. He's probably used to the other pro hero's displays of irritation. "I'm just being nice to our friend!"
"Fine!" Katsuki says, but he still pushes Izuku behind himself even more, although he does it gently.

After an intense workout routine, Izuku ends up on the floor, exhausted. A hand touches his forehead as a big shadow looms over him for a moment.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, just give me a second, Kacchan."
The same hand appears in front of him, and Izuku wakes it without hesitation. Before he can even blink, he's back on his feet already.
Katsuki hands him a bottle of cold water.
"Thank you!" It's been barely a month, but it feels like Katsuki has known him his whole life.
Sometimes it's like he can hear Izuku's thoughts.
"Come, nerd. I'll take you to your apartment."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I have time today."
Katsuki also pays him quick visits to Hatsume's lab, and he actually stays there and talks to him. Izuku takes his break whenever he appears.
"I'm glad you finally decided to talk to your crush," Hatsume tells him the first time the pro hero draws Izuku's attention by saying his name. "It was a bit sad to watch you pine and give him the heart eyes in silence."
"SHUT UP!"
"Kacchan, relax," he chuckles, as he notices him turning bright red at the young woman's words. "She's just joking!"
Because there's no way that's true. Hatsume probably just wants to piss Katsuki off. He'd never look at Izuku with love in his eyes.
It's ridiculous.
Usually, Hatsume doesn't like having pro heroes there, but she makes an exception with Katsuki because he helps them test new gear, especially the magnetic shields she has designed for some heroes.
Besides, she likes watching things explode.
Although the number of times Katsuki is there has led to some of Izuku's coworkers getting the wrong idea about them.
Even the pro heroes at the gym ask Izuku the weirdest questions every now and then.
"We're more like... gym buddies?" Even that sounds odd coming from his mouth, Izuku has no idea why.
"I think you're saying gym boyfriends wrong, sweetie," Ashido chuckles, prompting Kaminari to laugh too.
It's a good thing Katsuki is on patrol that day; he would've gotten mad.
"No, I'm serious," Izuku says, turning bright red. "We're just friends!"
"Wow, Bakugo is an idiot," Kaminari gives Ashido a weird look.
"He totally is!" She agrees. "Anyone could try to steal this cutie if he doesn't hurry up!"
Izuku wants to tell them that their relationship is not like that, but it seems that no matter what he says they're not going to change their minds; they seem to believe Katsuki is secretly in love with him or something.
He has no idea why.

Izuku meets pro hero Shoto one Thursday evening; he just finished his work and headed straight to the gym.
When he sees him, he gets immediately flustered. It's not every day one gets to meet Japan's number two pro hero after all.
"Hi. I don't think I have ever seen you before."
Pro hero Shoto is very blunt sometimes.
"I've been coming here since September... so, yeah, I'm practically new here," Izuku smiles, prompting the pro hero to do the same. "I'm Midoriya Izuku!"
"Oh," finally, something akin to recognition in those mismatched eyes. "I've heard your name before. You fixed my suit last time it got destroyed by a villain, right?"
"Yes, that'd be me!"
"You did a great job. I was very impressed."
"Thank y-you, pro hero Shoto!"
"Please, call me Todoroki or just Shoto, if you want."
"Izuku!" Katsuki calls as soon as he walks in the gym. "Come here, I need to bench press you right now!"
He does that a lot lately; he uses Izuku instead of the very expensive equipment around, Katsuki assures him it's better that way, but he's not sure about that.
"I don't think that's a good idea," Todoroki comments then. "There's plenty of things you can use instead of Midoriya."
"What the hell are you doing here, half and half?"
"Toya and the old man got into a fight again," he says like it's nothing that surprises him anymore. "They were in our private gym when it happened, so it's destroyed now. It'll take a couple of days for the people we called to leave it as it was before. That's why I'm here."
Izuku is sure Todoroki doesn't say it to show off, but now he gets an idea of how rich he actually is.
He's so impressed he doesn't notice Katsuki until he's in front of him, almost like he wants to shield him from the other pro hero.
"Come with me, Izuku."
Todoroki looks from one to the other with curiosity.
"Is it really better if you try it with a person?" He asks before looking over Katsuki's shoulders, directly at Izuku: "Can I bench press you too, Midoriya?"
"FUCK OFF, HALF AND HALF!"

Todoroki becomes a good friend of his; he keeps coming to same gym as Izuku even after the one in his house is complete again.
Although, Katsuki gets a bit tense whenever he the three of them hang out; Izuku is not sure why, Ashido assured him they were in good terms, sure they're rivals, but they are also friends.
"Do you like half and half?"
"Absolutely, he's a great friend!"
"I don't mean it like that, nerd," Katsuki gets slightly irritated, as he usually does when Izuku doesn't understand what he's trying to say. "I mean if you like him... romantically."
"Oh!" Izuku blushes; he doesn't talk about romance around the pro hero... ever, so he gets a bit nervous, well, it's actually because the one he finds very attractive is Katsuki, but he's not going to say that. "No, I only see Todoroki as a friend."
Katsuki relaxes after that; they finish their routines like nothing happened, but the tension comes back to his shoulders after they take a shower and get ready to leave the gym.
Looking down at the floor instead of him, Katsuki takes one of Izuku's hands in his to stop him.

For a second, Izuku thinks he's dreaming, but he wouldn't blush that much in one of his dreams; he's usually more confident.

Katsuki gives him one of those happy, devastating smiles of his before intertwining their fingers together.
Izuku needs to call All Might and thank him for that membership again, but he'll probably do that later.
He has to focus on his date with Katsuki first.

I'm having a moment of severe weakness/anxiety but I got a very shocking anon a couple days ago that said the way I draw Black people seems racist and I guess I just wanted to ask any of my Black followers if you've ever had concerns about antiblack insensitivity from me or my art
I've read up on caricatures so I know what to avoid, but maybe I missed something? I've also asked friends and they all said it was likely a troll since the anon used a slur, but I want to use it as a learning opportunity in case I sincerely fucked up

the x-mansion kitchen has seen far too much.
Okay, so I started to splot down some words and ended up putting together a little jugpea fic. I was wondering if it was worth continuing, so why not consult the tumblr folk? I put it under the read more tag.
Midnight. It was the usual time Sweet Pea would crawl onto the roof of the Twighlight drive-in. It started as a form of escape when his parents would fight, but when they finally divorced, it became a habit. Not just for an escape, now it was a nightly thing to sneak off above the projection booth. That’s why it was easy for Sweet Pea to notice the difference in the night air. It had been there for a while. A few weeks, at least.
It felt like somebody’s presence, but he couldn’t recognize whose. He just knew he wasn’t alone. He decided that would change tonight because whoever had been presumably living there was making quite the racket. It sounded like they were moving something around, and Sweet Pea just couldn’t stand the interruption from the peaceful dark night.
He picked up his cigs and maneuvered over to the low spot. From where he was, he could jump down and just walk into the projection booth. So he did. He opened the door, and for a second the noise stopped. He swept past the wall that was blocking his view of the offender and was taken aghast. The boy in front of him was strikingly beautiful. His raven-black hair was stuck out in all directions, whipping around his head like a halo. He had the most erratic blue-green eyes that the world had ever seen. It was all tied together with a perfect oval-shaped face.
He had small freckles and moles that littered his gentle skin carelessly that started around his cheekbones and dotted down to his neck, and presumably his torso. From the little bits of him Sweet Pea could see, he looked soft and maybe curvy. His body was drenched in clothes that were either super baggy or too big, all black save for a red “S” shirt. He wore fuzzy white socks covered in dirt and lint.
