Spider-man vs. Green Goblin by Lee Gatlin
Idea for a cheap sloppy Green Goblin. Like a real Party City Goblin.
No armor whatsoever, just a green morphsuit and a tweaked a bit mask, bit of techs for the gauntlets and boots. No state-of-the-art gadgets too, no Oscorp ressources, just gadgets made of garbage and dangeorus chemicals.
This is how this movie went right
This sketch is in black and white, but in real life this goblin is green
this tiktok has me so fucking bad because its so damn true 😭

I don’t know how TSSM managed to do it, but somehow they not only gave us one storyline that tackled the topic of addiction in a way that was understandable towards their younger targeted audience, but they gave us two.
And just whenever people talk about the representation and portrayed attitudes towards mental health issues in other adaptations of Spider-man I’m just reminded of how much immense respect I have for TSSM for both deliberately choosing to outright address such mental health issues like addiction and being able to do it with such sensitivity and acknowledgment of the underlying gravity of such issues that they end up doing it well.
Gobby expression doodles cuz I can
Can someone explain to me (genuinely) why there’s so little redesigns offered of the Green Goblin in the spider-verse fanbase or even differing variations of his design offered within the comics? The very few film media adaptations of his character (at least the ones that did their best in adapting him as a character in general) do seem to have tried to offer a new look for him, but obviously that number is very limited and still doesn’t explain why in the comics themselves or in the fandom there seems to be little attempts made to give him other looks.
This isn’t meant to be critical of his main design, I’m just not of the opinion that it’s particularly “timeless” as I’ve seen a couple redditors put it or the absolute best that can be done. Even if it’s not a bad design, I don’t understand why it’s like one of the only designs he’s given and why any alternative that is given to him hardly strays much at all from that main design.
If only TSSM didn't end after S2 and we actually got a Harry as the real Goblin arc. Would've been golden tbh.
May I have romantic relations with your goblin?
(Not sexual)
TSSM chars playing roblox except idk if it's accurate or not
Also, to add onto this because I literally discovered this seconds after seeing this post completely on accident. This post inspired me to go watch the show on yt and I was just scrolling through the compilation video of the first season and somehow happened to stumble on this specific scene.
Like, his face is illuminated by harsh shadows, he’s speaking in the same voice, he’s making the same face, all while talking about unmasking the Green Goblin. This was foreshadowing.
I think what this scene says most of all though is that he always wanted to be discovered. He always wanted to be unmasked. Because if we were supposed to actually believe Norman Osborn wasn’t him than as the audience, then there’s no way he would have been gleeful about it being “too late” to unmask the vigilante who’s stealing all his equipment and putting his company in shambles.
His testament about the mask being your real face and your face being a mask was supposed to be an admission to wanting his literal face to be discovered this entire time so he can live out life with his true one.
So yeah, I’d definitely say it’s a relief for him. More then.
And the thing is… I’ve literally never thought of this scene before? Lol. I don’t even remember it. Like I swear I found it completely on accident right after seeing this post.
I love the little smirk Norman has when his identity is found out; It speaks volumes because of how it feels atypical to the character, but not to his alter-ego. The way “Norman” would act would probably be more… grim frustration, a snarl. But instead we have a cheeky “Oh look at that! I’ve been caught!” smile that is so much more Green Goblin. He went through all that trouble to hide his identity but when it’s found out, he may as well revel in the chaos it causes because why not?
The logical Norman side should be frustrated at being exposed, but the goblin who loves to torment others over anything else digs into how much turmoil it’s inflicting on his son. There’s a deep-down playfulness that wanted to be caught, it’s the same attitude that led to Norman acting like that at all because he always wanted to, and he wanted to not have to bother with any mask. Dare I say there’s relief.
It really sells that Norman and the Green Goblin are the same, that we get to see Gobby through Norman’s face instead of abstracting one as the other. “And you saw me limp away” plus his final line in the show really lean into Norman with Green Goblin mannerisms and I’d have loved to see the character just go full ham and rhymes and poetry to disperse any doubt. Make it clear it wasn’t the serum that affected his behavior, it was the mask, which ironically made him go mask-off. I bet the writers had a moment like this planned, possibly for the final scenes of the character, before the cancellation.
First post here, I don’t know yet if I’m going to publish anything else. May be!

When they crouch on their thing
interaction
I'm sorry, but you cannot convince me there is a single heterosexual explanation for this scene.
(This is mainly regarding the part where they're actually watching the show. Timeframe of that clip from the video is 0:59 to 1:32.)
First we get the slow zoom in towards Harry's face where he’s shown peering intently at MJ with a comical grin till he suddenly decides to turn his attention towards Peter's face in the crowd and his gaze hardness on him. (I also want to mention how he wasn't searching for his face and seemed to know exactly where to look, so that might say something.)
There's the romantic music and its lyrics in the background, that sure eventually fade off and morph into a more eerie melody but only for a moment. Because the second it returns back to the original melody it just so conveniently does when Harry looks at Peter.
There's the couple second long side profile shot of just Peter singing along to the music happily, which we know we're seeing through Harry's point of view.
And, I know this is a really small detail that might not even be noticeable and maybe not all that significant because of that. But from the looks of it, when we cut back to Harry he appears to give a small snarl... and then his expression abruptly softens. Right when the music starts to die down. And he just continues staring at Peter, even when the applause starts roaring in for MJ—the supposed girl of both of their dreams.
Like, just all around there’s such heavy subtext (whether intentional or not) provided by the simple framing of this clip.
there’s something soooooooooooo (??) about harry osborn straight up courting peter in spiderman 2. he shows up to peter’s birthday party and is like “well I guess u could go make a move on mary jane” (knowing full well mary jane was in a committed long term relationship) “but btw ur scientific academic idol who I know ur obsessed with is working on this really cool project I could introduce u to him and then we could watch him turn on his fusion reactor together <3” and then when his date night gets interrupted by spiderman and he lowkey thinks peter is cheating on him (with spiderman) he starts a VERY public scene, slaps him twice like a scorned lover, and cries
I love how everyone just ships everyone together ‘cause they’re all really shippable with each other and yet none of us have a considered the possibility that they could all just be poly if we wanted them to be.
WinMac should NOT be the top ship. You guys are insane when MacReady and Childs is RIGHT THERE. That ending??? Dead mans yaoi. They had chemistry throughout the whole film, and Y'all latched onto Windows and MacReady?? Is it all for the computer brands joke?? Whatever. Just you wait.
@emile-tb knows whats up, and is holding the flashlight for my keyboard while I type in the dark rn.
He tells me to tell yall he says hi.
if you guys have ship name ideas for Mac and Childs lmk
Have you ever felt like wishing for death?
I am the one who wished for death so that he would not see the specter of torment and the bitterness of regret
I sit on the ground under a tent and look at my children starving and suffering from pain and fear while they are in front of me shivering from the cold and the smell of death that is everywhere and I cannot do anything as if I am chained in front of them a lifeless corpse and tears welled up in my eyes from grief over their condition.
I wrote this hoping to find a heart that beats with mercy to extend its hands to save us
Is there anyone who will answer?

Some of you don't know how ignorant you sound when you say “another boring het ship” when the people in those ships are minorities. We rarely get to see ourselves represented in media well.
Even queer minorities praise straight poc ships when we see them because any good rep is still rare for us. Especially when those ships don't involve white people.
How privileged you are, that seeing people that look like you in relationships is so commonplace its become boring.
We don't have that luxury.
.
I noticed some patterns between the different ships I currently have. So I decided to make this.
I’m going to reblog this and fill it out for my different ships and contrast and compare between them. But anyone can feel free to use this template if they’d like.
It’s crazy the amount of times I’ll interact with someone with the exact same “problematic” ships as me and then I’ll check their profile and apparently they’re claiming to be an anti. Even when… it seems so incredibly obvious that a true anti would not tolerate the things we both ship at all.
I think there’s a lot of deep insecurity running in people who feel the need to justify their interest in or dislike for certain ships whether considerably “problematic” or not with morality. At some point, they’re only considering ships they don’t personally like as problematic and those they do as not problematic, and I think that’s made obvious by the fact they feel such a need to bend over backwards to explain the moral reasoning behind what they ship and don’t. It’s almost certainly insecurity and discomfort in their own sense of sexuality.
