Well, this one's a little heavier than usual (there was a lot of heavy emotional stuff in that ep, with Chakotay learning that the Maquis were gone and Janeway receiving the news from Mark), but I hope it still brightened your day!

Also, Janeway's expression when she told him about the letter screamed "I need a hug", so there you go 😉❤️

Basics - "Kindling" 🔥

Unbeknownst to the rest of us, a lot actually happened between the moment Chakotay got a fire going and Kes and Neelix were taken...

Chakotay's efforts get rewarded with show of gratitude, support and pride from Janeway....

Observing that Harry had taken a HUGE chunk of Janeway’s hair, Chakotay kindly offers to even it out for her... then gives her a hand tying it back (always the dutiful First Officer, you see)...

The crew takes turns taking care of baby Naomi when Ensign Wildman gets some rest...

Chakotay is happy to give Neelix a hand with the food...

And Harry’s enthusiastic suggestion that they sing and tell ghost stories as they huddle together for warmth (no time to be shy) is not met with as much enthusiasm as he had hoped...

Ok, so after a week or two not feeling particularly inspired, I came back with a vengeance, and boy... down, down that rabbit hole I went! 😂 I hope you enjoyed!

A personal anecdote: I recently took part in a "fire by friction" workshop where we learned how to get fires started by using friction techniques (like the bow), and of course all I could think about was this scene, especially when the conversation turned to the possibility of using human hair for tinder! LOL I came to realize that there's actually a lot of prior knowledge involved (especially about the materials used for the fire board and spindle), so I agree with Janeway that Chakotay really should not be so hard on himself for not succeeding right away (though his frustration was totally endearing!)

(Well friends, it’s been a while – Real Life's been constantly intruding upon my procrastination lately 😆! Anyway, I hope this one from one of my favorite Janeway episodes brings a smile to your face! 😁 First time “cartooning” Kes, too!! About time! 😉)

Relieved to have succeeded in bringing Kes back, Janeway had forgotten all about the painted design on her temple until Kes jauntily remarked that it matched Chakotay’s.

Later, Chakotay fulfills his duty as First Officer and offers to help when the captain so obviously needs it. 😆

Awww.... 🥰 (Also, don't ask why Janeway didn't change back on the planet... I just liked the outfit 😆)

A while back jmsaw2 suggested that I add illustrations to some of my fics - that's a fun thought because most of them are extremely vivid in my head (providing ample inspiration) and they offer interesting technical challenges. I'm finally at the point in my learning-how-to-draw journey where I feel I can do a decent job of it, so here's a set for you!

Hopefully they capture your imagination too, even if you haven't read the story!

Launching #FanartFortheCure – Pink Series on teepublic (Apologies in advance for the long post!)

So! As you may already know if you’ve been following me for a while, I now have a teepublic page (Creative Procrastination) where you can find most of my JC, Voyager and Prodigy fanart to get it printed on shirts, magnets, stickers, and more. I decided shortly after I set it up that my share of the earnings would go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, as I do fanart because I love it. This is my way of paying all the love and support from you all forward.

With this in mind I’m super excited to announce that I’ve just added brand-new pink ribbon-themed Star Trek/Voyager-inspired designs for you all! 🖖 Some of the designs are directly related to the cause with pink ribbons 🎗️🩷, while others are more subtle and related in a way only you would know (the color pink and where you got it from!).
