So I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about how what Steven was saying about the gems when he was alone was cruel, but I wanted to try and help ppl see it from an angry, venting, teens perspective.

Imagine this:

You have a friend with really low self esteem.

Her issues are incredibly similar to your own self worth problems.

You two end up bonding based off of your combined low self esteems. You both agree that “you’re just like me, and I’m just like you”, which means, since you both love each other, that maybe you two aren’t actually as bad as you both think you are. If my loved one is just like me, than I’m not that bad am I?

You also have a similar connection to someone important in your lives. She tries to help you figure out how you feel about your mom but you end up helping her instead.

And then a lot of things happen, but that’s fine. You’re both as close as you were before.

But, are you? You both start teaching.

And she’s a bit better at it than you.

She keeps trying to give you advice, and she ends up being right.

What happened to how she used to be?
