You can call me Starry! I'm a fan artist and fanfiction writer. She/her, asexual. I'm a huge nerd (and by that, I mean I love math, science, and language). I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Reblog blog is @starryarchitect-reblogs, queer mormon blog is @acemormon.

Happy New Year everyone! 2020 is FINALLY over (at least for me)! Man, what an awful year. Listen, I'm not asking for 2021 to be perfect or anything, but could we please just have it be not quite as apocalyptic as 2020?
Finally! I'm back! I've recovered from NaNoWriMo! (Let's not talk about how it took almost two weeks.) I'm not going to be able to churn out stuff with the same pace as before, but I've got art and writing coming, so um . . . Yeah? Anyway, here's some Christmas Pidge with a new lighting style I can't decide whether or not I like.
Just a short platonic Pallura comfort fic.
Sleep deprivation sucks.
I have two multi-chapter stories planned, but until then, here's a quick fic to water your Plance:
I had like twenty scenes from the first three Stormlight books I wanted to illustrate before the fourth book came out, but . . . *Glances at countdown to RoW I definitely don't have on my bedside table* Yeah, that's not gonna happen. So here are some doodles of Syl.
The third and final chapter of my Plance fic that took far too long to update is now up!
I genuinely wasn't sure which version I prefer (my sister likes the first more, my mom likes the second) so I went with posting both. What does the internet think?
Shallan is supposed to be summoning her Shardblade (well, Patternblade) here, but I'm not sure how well that was communicated. Oh well. The "fractally" spirals are cool though. I mean, they're not actually fractals but they're still reminiscent of Pattern, so good enough.
(From the fantastic fantasy series the Stormlight Archive. Can't wait for Rhythm of War!)
Me: You know what would look great? Pidge in a suit and tie. I should draw that.
Me: I really should draw something that shows Pidge as the ace queen I've always headcanoned her as.
Me: Wait a second . . . How about I Voltron these two ideas together? I'm such a genius.
(I was going to add fancy shading but I'm lazy. Just gonna post it, pretend addìng a purple tie to a monochrome suit is enough to reference the asexual flag, and crawl into bed.)
Pidge: Why did I never enjoy things like the rain, or sunsets, before I met you? I didn’t even notice them.
Lance: I think that’s the point. We make each other better. For example, I never thought things through before I met you.
Pidge: I’m pretty sure you did.
Lance: Well, what can I say? I’ve always been perfect.
Pidge: *laughs* Pff, I’m sure.
Pidge: Lance?
Lance: Yeah?
Pidge: I love you.
Lance: I love you too.
Pidge is a mechanic with a knack for chemistry (see Varian from TTS). Her father and brother go exploring in neighboring lands for their kingdom, but contact with them is lost during a storm. Pidge has to use all her engineering skills to find and save them. The kingdom fights her and her search every step of the way, for reasons Pidge hasn't been able to determine. Do they just not see the point of wasting resources saving two people? Or do they have something to hide?
Lance is a guard who escorts Pidge home after she storms into the castle demanding the royal family send a rescue team after her family. He starts spending time with her and helping her on her mission--partly because he believes it's wrong the kingdom refuses to give her aid, and partly because he can't help but find the ruthless little genius fascinating.
Almost definitely never going to write this, but I do like the idea, and I had to illustrate it. Pidge hasn't bothered to get a haircut recently in this drawing--her hair is overgrown and messy, but also rather cute.
