HAPPY PI DAY!
For this year's celebratory pattern I wanted to tackle a dream project of mine: stitching a functional unit circle. The French knots (all 100 of them!) around the lower circle represent the coordinates of each point (sans radicals and negative signs), and the upper circle shows how sine and cosine can be found by following a point around a circle's circumference.

i think about ahsoka's "she was my friend" line too many times a day

Just a reminder that we don’t know all the good things Katniss does/did for her community, because Katniss wouldn’t tell us unless it was relevant to what was going on.
In Catching fire, she doesn’t tell us that she’s being going around and bringing food to poor children in the seam until she needs to explain why she had a bag of food and why her mother wouldn’t find that odd.
In the first book, when she’s telling Peeta about the story of how she got Prims goat, she refuses to admit that this wasn’t a selfish move so she could get money out of that goat. (You could also argue that this is her refusing to be vulnerable in front of Peeta and all of Pamen though. I think it’s both, because she doesn’t even admit that she did this purely for her sister in her internal dialogue.)
And in Mockingjay, she never tells us that she’s the one that got Haymitch the goose eggs to help him heal after the games. All she says in the epilogue is that Haymitch raises geese when the liquor runs out. And we would never know otherwise if Haymitch didn’t mention that SHE was the one who got him the geese in sotr.

Like man, I know I've been here for a long time, through the ups and downs of Tumblr, but it's a big number!! And it's nice to celebrate! This runs for the next two weeks, between the 16th of April to the 30th of April 2025, and the prizes are: - One of my warm up style comics in which you get to choose the subject and - one of my full figure commissions I'll be choosing the winners on the 1st of May on a spin the wheel Gen, which I'll record! I'll message the winners too and make sure you know you won! (If I don't hear back from you in a week though, I'll re roll the wheel!) So, the rules: - Got to be following me here on tumblr! - You get two submissions, liking This Post and reblogging it! - For the figure piece, my commission rules apply (See my pinned post for more info!) and it can take up to two weeks for a final piece. Okay, I think that's it! Thanks again guys, for sticking with my art and supporting me! Lots of love and Good luck!
today's warm up: you'd think, the ocean loving you, would make you feel small, a minnow in her wake, but no. Out of the world, she loves you? That makes you big.
Thinking about how Wyatt Callow is proof that Dr. Gaul’s and Snow’s assertion that humanity’s essential nature is violent (which is part of their argument for the Capitol’s control being necessary) is false. That “What happened in the arena? That’s humanity undressed… A boy with a club who beats another boy to death. That’s mankind in its natural state.” is false.
I’m sure he had it all calculated. He knew exactly what choices would give him the best odds of survival. He knew that the faster he got out of the initial bloodshed the better his chances would be. He knew that letting other kids die would benefit his odds of survival. He knew exactly what he should’ve done to preserve himself.
And yet, he threw all those statistics and odds, all that reason and logic out the window in the name of protecting Lou Lou, a girl that wasn’t even from his district. He threw it all out the window in the name of helping another human being that was in an unfair situation and had worse odds than him. He knew who the real enemy was; he knew it wasn’t the other kids being taken advantage of by the Capitol just like him.
That is humanity.
