Curse Work Using Poppet Dolls. Poppets As We Know Are Used To Represent A Person. You Name The Doll After
Curse Work Using Poppet Dolls. Poppets As We Know Are Used To Represent A Person. You Name The Doll After

Curse work using poppet dolls. Poppets as we know are used to represent a person. You name the doll after them, stating clearly that what ever happens to the doll symbolically will also happen or effect the actual living person. Here I am turning this persons good fortune & successes financially into losses & misfortune. When I perform poppet magick I work on the poppet for several days using a wide range of techniques. For example I might down the poppet, run it over, hang it upside down from a tree, have my dog rip it up & bit it, I could bury it in sinking sand, cover it in dirt & filth, cut body parts off of it & bind it with string or chains. All symbolic of different forms of energy & attacks on the targets life.

You can also use poppets for positive magick such as love, healing & happiness. Examples of this would be to bind two poppets together for love magick, dress the poppet on nice clothes for interviews, spray it with perfume for attraction magick, rub herbs & oils into it for healing, bury it in the earth to ground any unwanted energy & to offer healing, wrap the poppet in bank notes to attract money etc.

Use your imagination & be creative. Blessed be

Combat Magick: The Art Of Mystical Warfare

Combat Magick: The Art Of Mystical Warfare

Combat magick is the practice of using metaphysical and energetic techniques for defense, offense, and strategic advantage in spiritual or psychic conflicts. It blends elements of protection, attack, and counterattack, often drawing upon personal will, energy manipulation, and ritual magick to influence outcomes in battles—whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.

Principles of Combat Magick

• Energetic Warfare – Combat magick works by manipulating energy to shield, attack, or neutralize threats. Practitioners learn to harness their own energy and direct external forces to achieve victory.

• Intent and Willpower – A strong will is essential in combat magick. The practitioner's intent determines whether their spells are defensive, retaliatory, or aggressive.

• Cleverness and Intellect - When it comes right down to it, your mind is the single best weapon in your arsenal. The practitioner should possess a some level of mental prowess before attempting combat magick.

• Ethical Considerations – While some use combat magick for self-defense, others employ it for baneful purposes. Some witches mayfollow guidelines such as the Threefold Law or personal codes of conduct that forbid the use of such workings.

Combat Magick: The Art Of Mystical Warfare

Forms of Combat Magick

Defensive Magick (Shielding & Warding):

• Shielding: Creating energetic barriers around oneself or others to deflect attacks (psychic, emotional, spiritual).

• Warding: Placing protective symbols, sigils, or enchanted objects around spaces to prevent intrusion.

• Cleansing & Banishing: Removing negative influences through smoke cleansing, salt, sound, or sacred words.

Offensive Magick (Curses & Hexes):

• Curses & Hexes: Directing harmful energy toward an opponent to weaken, confuse, deter, or harm them.

• Energy Manipulation: Sending concentrated bursts of energy to disrupt an enemy’s balance.

• Elemental Combat: Calling upon fire, water, air, or earth to aid in magickal attacks.

Counterattacks & Reversal Magick:

• Mirror Spells (Return to Sender): Reflecting an attack back to it's source.

• Unbinding & Curse Breaking: Severing unwanted energetic ties or removing hostile spells.

• Reversal Magick: Redirecting negativity away from oneself and sending it elsewhere.

Combat Magick: The Art Of Mystical Warfare

Tools & Techniques Used in Combat Magick

• Sigils & Symbols – Used for protection, strength, or attack. Examples include Algiz (protection), Mars glyphs (aggression).

• Herbs & Crystals – Protective plants like blackthorn, vervain, or dragon’s blood; stones like obsidian, hematite, or black tourmaline. Baneful components include herbs like datura, calamus, belladonna or Spanish moss and stones like opal, sardonyx, and garnet.

• Blood & Personal Energy – Some warriors of the craft may infuse spells with personal essence or their own blood to strengthen the magick.

• Chanting & Incantations – Words of power can amplify intent and activate spells more effectively.

• Astral Combat – Fighting in the spiritual realm through visualization, dream work, or projection. This can help you catch your target in a vulnerable position and quickly gain the upper hand.

Combat Magick: The Art Of Mystical Warfare

Who Uses Combat Magick?

• Witches & Sorcerers – Those who practice both light and dark magick for protection or justice.

• Psychic Warriors & Energy Workers – Individuals who engage in spiritual defense against negative entities or forces.

• Shamans & Spirit Walkers – Practitioners who deal with hostile spirits or supernatural threats as well as those performing exorcisms.

• Chaos Magicians – Those who employ sigils, servitors, and energy constructs for their warfare.

Combat magick is not for the faint of heart—it requires discipline, mastery of energy work, and deep self-awareness. While it can be a powerful tool for protection and justice, it should always be wielded with wisdom and responsibility. Whether defending against psychic attacks or engaging in mystical battles, combat magick remains an essential part of the spiritual warrior’s arsenal.

Put my best friend's stalker in the freezer with me <3

A note: I very rarely do baneful spells, I believe strongly in do no harm but take no shit, and this man has been stalking and harassing one of my best friends for years at this point, she just got a restraining order against him and I told her I would do this.

So, I am putting him in the freezer.

What is putting someone in the freezer?

Essentially, you are "icing" this person out of your life. It's less of a curse, more of freezing them in place, trapping them in their own energy.

At least, that's what I'm doing.

Ingredients

Water

Pen and paper

Vessel (opt?)

I'll admit this is my first time doing this, so things can probably be done a million different ways, I've seen people shove the name in a lemon and toss it in the freezer, or other such things, but this guy has plenty of negativity surrounding him.

Write the name of your victim on the piece of paper. Full name/social media handle, etc. I am using a post-it note and a sharpie.

Write your intention. I put "may you drown in your own negativity"

Wet down the paper or fill your vessel with water and stick the paper in. I'm envisioning you could use a freezer bag for this.

Toss it in your freezer and forget about it.

Servitors: Your Personal Magical Minions (No Payroll Required!)

Servitors: Your Personal Magical Minions (No Payroll Required!)

So, You Want a Magical Minion?

Let’s be honest—who hasn’t wished they had a little helper to handle life’s tedious tasks? Imagine having a personal assistant, but instead of a human (or a very expensive AI subscription), you have a magical entity that exists solely to do your bidding. No snack breaks, no salary, no complaining about workplace conditions. Welcome to the world of servitors!

Servitors are artificial spirits created for a specific purpose, and they’re entirely under your control. Need protection? A servitor can be your mystical bodyguard. Looking to attract opportunities? A servitor can work as your personal energetic recruiter. The possibilities are endless, as long as you know what you’re doing.

But before you go off creating an army of these things like some kind of magical overlord, let’s dive into what servitors are, how they differ from egregores, and how to make them work for you.

Servitors vs. Egregores: What's the Difference?

Many people confuse servitors with egregores, so let’s clear that up. While both are thought-forms—entities created through focused thought and energy—they serve different functions and have different levels of autonomy.

🔹 Servitors are personal and programmed. You create them with a specific purpose in mind, and they are bound to you. They act like well-trained magical pets: loyal, obedient, and existing only as long as you choose to maintain them.

🔹 Egregores are collective thought-forms created by a group’s shared beliefs and intentions. Think of them as corporate mascots with a touch of spiritual power. Major religions, brands, and even fandoms have egregores that take on lives of their own (looking at you, Mickey Mouse and Santa Claus).

While servitors are like robots designed for specific tasks, egregores are more like cultural forces—harder to control and capable of influencing large groups of people.

Why Create a Servitor?

The real question is, why wouldn’t you want a magical assistant? Here are some common uses for servitors:

✅ Protection: Keep negative energy, harmful spirits, and sketchy people at bay. ✅ Prosperity: Attract money, job opportunities, or even creative inspiration. ✅ Healing: Act as an energy worker to aid in physical or emotional healing. ✅ Enhancing Skills: Boost your intuition, psychic abilities, or even productivity. ✅ Emotional Support: A servitor can be designed to provide comfort or motivation.

You get to decide exactly what the servitor does, and you tailor it to your needs.

How to Create a Servitor

Ready to build your own magical companion? Follow these steps, and soon you’ll have a fully functional servitor at your service.

Step 1: Define the Purpose

Before anything else, be crystal clear about what you want your servitor to do. The more specific, the better. A servitor for “helping with work” is too vague, but a servitor “to enhance my confidence when speaking in meetings” is a focused goal.

Step 2: Design Its Form

Servitors don’t have a default look, so get creative! You can design them to appear as:

A shadowy protector

A glowing orb of energy

A small, helpful imp

A wise owl or cat familiar

The form should match the function. A servitor for confidence might take the shape of a lion, while one for stealth could be a smoky, formless wisp.

Step 3: Give It a Name

Names hold power. Choose something easy to remember but unique enough that you don’t accidentally summon it when ordering takeout.

Step 4: Charge It with Energy

To bring your servitor to life, you need to pour energy into it. This can be done through:

Meditation and visualization

Chanting its name repeatedly

Drawing or sculpting its form

Using candle magic, sigils, or crystals

Some practitioners even use a ritual circle to mark the servitor’s “birth.”

Step 5: Program Its Instructions

Like training a puppy (but with fewer messes), you must teach your servitor what to do. Be clear and direct. You can write down its purpose, speak aloud to it, or mentally command it.

Example: “You are to increase my focus while studying. Whenever I sit down with a book, you will sharpen my concentration and block out distractions.”

Step 6: Assign a Home

Your servitor needs an anchor in this world. You can link it to an object (a crystal, a piece of jewelry, a drawing) or even keep it within your aura. This prevents it from dissipating.

Step 7: Feed It (But Not with Food!)

Servitors need energy to function. You can feed them with:

Your focus and intention

Offerings of light, incense, or sigil activations

Absorbing excess energy from specific sources (like the sun, moon, or even music)

If a servitor gets too weak, it might dissolve on its own.

Step 8: Dismiss or Destroy When Done

If you no longer need your servitor, it’s important to properly dissolve it. This prevents lingering energy from going rogue.

To dismiss a servitor, you can:

Thank it for its service and instruct it to dissolve.

Burn its sigil or physical representation.

Absorb its energy back into yourself or the universe.

Warnings and Ethics of Servitor Work

🚨 Do NOT create servitors for harm. They can backfire or grow beyond your control. 🚨 Do NOT forget about them. A neglected servitor can become unstable. 🚨 DO set clear limits. Make sure your servitor knows its purpose and doesn’t overstep its bounds.

Remember, servitors are tools—not independent spirits or pets. Treat them with respect, but always stay in control.

Final Thoughts: The Magical Workforce at Your Fingertips

Creating servitors is a powerful magical technique that allows you to shape reality in a unique way. They are the ultimate customizable magical assistants, designed to fit your exact needs without any unnecessary fluff. Whether you want help manifesting money, sharpening your intuition, or keeping bad vibes away, servitors can be a valuable addition to your practice.

So, what kind of servitor will you create? Let me know in the comments!

tips for adhd witches!

[[before you expand: LONG text post!!]]

I got diagnosed only a couple months ago, but I have been practicing witchcraft for a little bit now. So in retrospect, here is stuff that I realized I have been doing to cope the whole time, and some new things I'm tinkering with :) Please feel free to leave your own tips or thoughts!

At all costs, avoid promising gods and spirits that YOU WILL uphold a rigid routine.

Just do not promise to give daily offerings! JUST DON'T DO IT. If you struggle with upholding a regular routine, do not promise gods or spirits you will uphold a routine for them. You should only promise things you are confident you can deliver. ((If you identify as a beginner witch it's my personal belief that you should not be promising anyone anything.))

Delete from your mindset that all witches are supposed to uphold rigid routines.

Give yourself breathing room: if you want to give scheduled offerings, maybe do one on the full moon. Or, plan it to coincide with other activities that interest you, and that you're likely to show up for.

Unless you have a few hours a week to devote to your practice, you should probably not be dedicating yourself to doing daily anything.

Rigid routine is not the only way to get regular experience with magic, build relationships with gods or spirits, or improve in your craft! You simply do not have to promise yourself or anyone else that you will do X actions at Y times.

Instead of having "do X for Y minutes on Z days" routines, try developing a streamlined ritual you can fit in anywhere for the really important stuff.

Maybe there are some really important things in your practice that you want to do on a regular basis. Maybe these are things like:

Quick personal shielding

Acknowledging and honoring spirits

General offering

Prayer for guidance

Instead of saying "I'll do shielding for 5 minutes every day after breakfast, then of course my offering ritual-", you can put a streamlined (short, easy) ritual together where you do all four of these things at once.

Deep breaths, acknowledge and honor the spirits, ask for assistance in raising a shield, offering excess raised energy to them, and praying for guidance in the upcoming task.

It should take maybe like, 2 minutes tops.

Then, slot this streamlined ritual in before most practice activities. Like:

Before other energy work

Before divination

Before spellwork

Or, use it as a sort of 'generic' access point of connection and perform this ritual:

When you shower, to calm down from the day

When you're on transit to prepare for the upcoming day

When you're feeling grateful and want to share the moment with the spirits

When you're feeling sad and need support

Instead of forcing important actions into routines that may be hard to follow, find a way to carry these actions around with you in an accessible ritual, like carrying snacks around in a bag. This way you can use other exciting activities, or other life events, as a reminder to practice your ritual of important things :)

Build a clear system of omens for yourself. Omens can intrude on your daily life and get your attention.

Maybe you have alarm blindness, forget to do divination, forget to check in with spells - so asking for omens can be a huge help. They are spontaneous messages that catch your eye. Helpful!

Research cultural omens

Research omens in your magical tradition

Journal and brainstorm personal omens

Write out, for yourself, a short list of personal omens.

Solid black pigeons mean a spirit wants attention. Seeing your favorite tree species means a spell was successful. Three gray dots means a spell failed. The scent of cinnamon buns means fortune is headed your way.

Perform a ritual announcing your chosen omens to the Powers That Be. Invite those Powers, Yourself, Life, the Universe, and Everything to send you true, accurate, and helpful messages through these omens.

Working with omens in this way is a skill that evolves over time. Your personal omen system will evolve over time if you use it. Think of it as another form of divination!

(Tip: Combine symbols with colors for an advanced system that's easy to remember. Oak trees are prosperity, but black means slow movement, red means powerful, and white means failure. After a spell you see a plumbing truck with a red oak tree logo; powerful prosperity. Etc.)

Build all your spells, rituals, and everything with the foresight that you are probably going to forget about it or not return to it for a long time.

Employ foresight and:

Encode retirement/shutdown functions into your spells!! Do you want the spell to burn out completely and leave the vessel hollow so you don't have to deal with the vessel later on? Specify that! Do you want the spell to go to 'power saver mode' and hibernate so you can save the vessel and recharge it later? Specify!

ENCODE OMENS INTO SPELLS TO REMIND YOU TO TAKE ACTIONS! "This spell brings me financial benefit, and when it runs low, I will see my omen of slow growth - a solid black tree."

Assume that you are going to completely forget that you're able to take care of this problem, so encode the spells assuming you will never remember to deal with this again:

Spell for people that will remember they want to deal with Monica (they will also be working with wards, divination, and subtle cunning): "Stop Monica at the front desk from assaulting me with her dark energies, or else limit how much of her energy can reach me."

Spell for people that are going to completely forget this is an issue they can take care of and won't do another spell on it for maybe 18 months: "Stop Monica from assaulting me with her dark energies, or reveal to everyone in the office her dark nature, but if neither of these things is possible, change something in the office so that we never interact again."

Assume you will forget about individual spells, that you will accumulate way to many spells than you can individually attend to, and that you may never take final steps like cleansing and deconstructing old spell vessels.

Build a spellcasting altar, or a spell recharging altar, where you store up all your vessels. Recharge them all at once, as often as you remember to.

Poor plan: "And when this vessel runs down I will recharge it with the waxing moon as I stand under the orange tree-" More tenable plan: "And when this vessel runs down let it drink energy from my altar; let it take up any energy that suits it; let it feed on what is available to it, according to its needs."

Focus on learning how to tie spells to external energy sources so they will stay charged for way longer.

For easy deconstruction, set blanket conditions for every vessel that it be undone and the magic erased if you take a simple action. This is called a kill code. You bake it into spells and it makes deconstruction way easier.

Try developing a barbarous word of undoing and using it every time you want to undo a vessel or a spell; this word will gain power and can become very helpful in other ways.

Once again, plan spells with the foresight that it will be difficult/unlikely for you to re-engage for formal deconstruction procedures. So, anticipate your future needs during spellcasting: "And if I ever open this jar and take out the things inside it, let this spell be released and return to the earth, let it fade away without trouble and nourish anything around it as fallen logs nourish the forest floor." This way, you know that if you accidentally forget about a spell or just take it apart, the magic already has instructions to safely dissipate and you don't have to worry.

Develop a visual language to remind you of what collected objects and spell vessels are.

This folds in real nice with a personal omen system!!

Use a combination of colors, established symbols (planetary, alchemical), and personal symbols to develop a visual conlang that helps you keep track of what things are.

If applicable, decorate or modify spell vessels so you can tell at a glance what the spell is for (violet symbol of Venus next to a paw: a spell to improve relationships with the spirits that help you with psychism)

Build a system that makes intuitive sense to you, perhaps folding in with your color correspondence associations, magical headcannon, or any other mnemonic device:

All the spells in jars are protective

Everything that's tied into a witch's ladder is about prosperity

If it has a red X on it, that's a hex

If it has a 7-pointed star, it involves your dragon guide

If you store it in a bag that has blue on it (blue print, blue button, blue tie-string) then that object is related to cleansing

Your personal visual language will gain its own power over time if used regularly, in the way that egrigores or sigils can gain power if used consistently over time :) It can become a real magical tool, not just a mnemonic device!

During spirit work, just clearly communicate that your sporadic presence has nothing to do with your dedication 🤷

When you conjure/talk to/pray to gods, spirits, or anything, address the fact that your communication/rituals/etc ARE going to be sporadic. Explain yourself and ask the spirits to extend understanding.

Some spirits/gods/etc are going to demand regular routine. AND IF THEY EXPECT THAT, then you guys need to get on the same page ASAP as to whether or not that's possible.

Spirits can be incredibly forgiving and understanding, but unless you tell them why you are sometimes around and sometimes not, they do not necessarily know what's going on.

Your spirit guide may have not read the DSM-5. Obelon the Fox-Man might not be up-to-date with the 2025 diagnosis criteria for ADHD, and Obelon might not recognize that you are struggling with a disorder that can mimic inattentiveness. Obelon might be asking why you appear to be so enthusiastic, and yet only call for him once every 5 weeks.

Just explain!! Explain what you are comfortable explaining. Give them reassurances and ask them to not misinterpret your ability to be present.

At all costs, avoid making your path a carrot that you dangle in front of yourself to try and force yourself to fix your brain through sheer force of will.

If the way you talk to yourself about your path sounds like someone struggling with unhealthy dieting, maybe it's time to readjust.

"I just need to do my daily offerings, on schedule, for two weeks. Then I will have earned researching tarot spells."

Maybe it's not a good idea to intentionally include witchcraft in a cycle of reward and denial that will ultimately drain joy from the process until your passion is a withered husk.

Witchcraft isn't going to force your brain to change any more than Stardew Valley was going to force your brain to change. Or that time you got super into succulents. If your time spent studying wool quality in heritage European sheep breeds didn't cure your disorder, witchcraft won't either.

Witchcraft, I think, deserves to be something that is a part of your joy - not a part of a system of stressful attempts at making yourself into someone you're not because "real witches" all do such-and-such routine (I assure you, they do not) so you must force yourself to do it too.

(Incidentally, if you have a 'streamlined ritual for the important stuff' and it becomes a barrier that prevents you from practicing, then maybe that's not a good idea for you - or maybe it's not as simple and streamlined as you need it to be)

STOP trying to build a static path. Lean into temporary hyperfixations.

There is SO MUCH to learn in witchcraft. It's never-ending. The more you learn, the more doorways open for you with more things to learn behind them.

This is not college, you do not have to declare your major. You don't have to wait to decide on your 'magic specialization' before you start learning.

This is not college, you don't have to take semesters of boring general ed classes before you're allowed to start studying what interests you.

Unless you are getting into very serious initiations, learning stuff, advancing your skills, and building your path is not going to shut doors and prevent you from getting into something else.

If something excites your interests, GET INTO IT! Don't force yourself to ignore what you're passionate about because you think serious, responsible witchcraft is supposed to be rigid, boring, and tedious. (It isn't!)

Avoid declaring your major. As in, maybe the idea of energy glamours is super exciting, so on day 1 you create a lesson plan that will realistically take you 70 weeks to complete. Based on your history, is it reasonable that you will maintain this specific interest in glamours for over a year?

Avoid making lesson plans that intentionally slow you down and make shit boring for no good reason. If energy glamours interest you, are you (*scrolls up*) using energy glamours as a carrot to force yourself to engage in a tedious magical workout routine? Is the reason the lesson plan takes 70 weeks because you decided to spend weeks slowly moving through each phase so you have time to spam energy work exercises?

You know yourself better than I know you. Maybe wanting to slow down and engage in your focuses in a new way is the goal. Of course, listen to yourself first!

But if you have a temporary burst of energy and focus to learn a new skill, and learning that skill won't require you to make unhealthy personal or financial decisions, why not just lean into it and explore it moment by moment, wherever your interests take you?

I think you'd probably learn a lot more doing and undoing 20 glamours in a week, because you're freaking out about how fucking cool it is, than if you practice 1 basic glamor exercise once a day because that's what real disciplined witches do, and then 11 days later you forget it once and never do it again and now your interest has faded because glamouring is just another boring chore.

Invest some time and energy into figuring out exactly what your bare minimum of responsibility and upkeep actually is.

How often do you need to recharge your wards to keep them functioning normally?

Once you've explained your own needs and limits, how often do your spirits actually request offerings?

Are you 100% sure the spirits you're working with expect offerings in the first place?

Are those offerings expected to be physical, or do thoughts and prayers suffice?

How often should you perform a personal cleansing to keep yourself feeling magically refreshed?

Feeling anxious or guilty over whether or not you're supposed to be taking certain actions is NO FUN.

It is much less fun if you don't actually know how often you need to do these things. Then it's just all guessing, all the time, and nothing is ever good enough.

If at all possible, avoid putting yourself into a situation where you feel that you are supposed to be doing something responsible in your practice, but you're never sure exactly what it is.

Spend some practice time, learn some skills, and make notes, to discover whether or not you do have any minimum engagement requirements in the style of practice you want. And most importantly, having clear 'deadlines' so you don't have to keep guessing at what you're forgetting about this time.

The Gift of Claircognizance

What is it?

The word is made up of two: the French “clair”, meaning clear, and “cognizance”, which means knowing. “Clear knowing”. The ability to know things without realizing how.

Such knowledge can be about a person’s true intentions, authentic feelings or real worth; the right path to take; or what really happened to a missing object or person.

Who bestows it?

You could be the first in your bloodline to receive this gift from the divine. Or it could be something you inherited from one of your ancestors.

In my family’s faith, it is specifically Uranus, Neptune and Pluto who give this present.

It comes from a power that science is incapable of explaining or accepting.

Where does the knowing come from?

It is different for everybody.

For some, it is knowledge subtly and quickly installed in your mind by a supernatural being: a deity, an ancestor, a ghost or an entity.

For others, it is a result of amplified logical thinking: an ability to read people’s facial expressions and gestures, or a talent for deductive reasoning.

Can I trust it?

Countless people claim to have claircognizance, when really, what they have is just a penchant for jumping to conclusions.

To be certain you have this gift, make a record of every knowing that comes to you. After some time, write down whether you were wrong or right.

If at least nine out of every ten instances have proven to be reliable, then you are a bona fide claircognizant. If seven to eight were correct, you might have this gift, but you still need to develop it. Anything less than seven is just luck, and that is not something one should trust.

Understanding Psychic Abilities

Psychic abilities often refer to skills or talents enabling individuals to gain information or influence beyond the scope of human senses or scientific understanding. Such capacities are frequently posited to transcend the boundaries of time, space, and matter. While they can be classified into various types – such as clairvoyance (perceiving remote or hidden information), telepathy (transmitting thoughts), and precognition (predicting future events) – the mechanisms underpinning these phenomena remain the subjects of controversy and speculation.

 Historical Perspectives

Throughout history, diverse cultures have recognized and integrated the notion of psychic phenomena into their daily lives and spiritual practices. From ancient civilizations like the Greeks and Egyptians, who consulted oracles and seers for guidance, to indigenous tribes who believed in the power of shamans and medicine people to communicate with forces beyond human perception, psychic phenomena have occupied a significant niche.

In the medieval period, psychic occurrences were often intertwined with religious or supernatural explanations. Those who claimed to possess these abilities were either revered as divinely gifted or, conversely, vilified and persecuted for heresy or witchcraft. Notably, the Renaissance and Enlightenment periods began to scrutinize such claims, emphasizing empirical evidence and rationality. This shift led to a decline in the public acceptance of psychic phenomena as mere superstitions or the result of charlatanism.

Modern Interpretations

In contemporary times, the debate surrounding psychic phenomena has bifurcated into two dominant perspectives: the skeptics and the proponents.

Skeptics, often armed with a scientific background, posit that claims of psychic abilities lack empirical evidence. They argue that such phenomena can be explained by cognitive biases, logical fallacies, or mere coincidences. For instance, the confirmation bias might lead someone to remember only the instances when a psychic prediction was accurate and dismiss those when it was not. They also highlight instances where purported psychics have been exposed as frauds, using tactics such as cold reading to feign genuine abilities.

On the contrary, proponents assert that the existence of psychic abilities is a genuine and untapped dimension of human potential. While acknowledging that fraudulence exists, they argue that there are genuine cases that defy conventional explanations. They contend that science, in its current form, may not be adequately equipped to understand or measure these phenomena. Some postulate that advancements in neuroscience, consciousness research, or quantum physics might one day elucidate the enigmatic nature of psychic abilities.

Title: Psychic Abilities: First Steps

Types of Psychic Abilities

Clairvoyance

Derived from the French words "clair" (clear) and "voir" (to see), clairvoyance essentially translates to "clear seeing." Clairvoyance refers to the claimed ability to gather information about an object, person, location, or event without any known humanly means. This phenomenon is often described as receiving visual information in the form of symbols, colors, or visions. Throughout history, many societies have revered clairvoyants as powerful figures. In some cultures, they played significant roles as advisors to rulers or as mediators between the physical and unseen worlds. Contemporary society, with its emphasis on empirical evidence, often views clairvoyance with skepticism, yet there remains a persistent cultural fascination with this ability. In many spiritual traditions, clairvoyance is seen as a heightened state of consciousness, a gift or a skill that connects the individual with higher dimensions or spiritual guides.

Telepathy

Stemming from the Greek words "tele" (distant) and "pathos" (feeling), telepathy can be understood as "distant feeling." Telepathy is the purported transmission of information between individuals without using known human sensory channels or physical interaction. It encompasses the transfer of emotions, thoughts, or even complex ideas. From ancient legends to modern science fiction, telepathic communication has captured the human imagination. While empirical research in telepathy remains inconclusive, it is a recurrent theme in popular media, underscoring the human yearning for connection. Mystic traditions may regard telepathy as a manifestation of universal interconnectedness, suggesting that at a deep level, all consciousness is one and separateness is an illusion.

Precognition

The term derives from the Latin "prae" (before) and "cognitio" (getting to know), effectively meaning "foreknowledge." Precognition involves knowledge or perception of future events before they occur, without any logical basis for such foreknowledge. This might manifest as dreams, feelings, or intuitions. Predicting the future has been a universal human pursuit, with precognitives often serving crucial societal roles as prophets, oracles, or seers. However, contemporary views on precognition are split, with skeptics pointing to cognitive biases as explanations. Many mystical traditions suggest that time, as humans perceive it, is an illusion. In such a framework, precognition might be understood as accessing timeless dimensions where past, present, and future coexist.

Claircognizance

"Clair" (clear) combined with "cognizance" (knowledge) indicates "clear knowledge." Claircognizance denotes an intuitive ability to just "know" something, without any logical basis or prior information. Individuals with this ability might suddenly know facts, insights, or understandings without knowing how they acquired them. The concept of inherent knowledge or insight is recognized in many cultures, often attributed to divine inspiration or profound intuition. However, in a world valuing empirical data, such spontaneous knowledge can be met with skepticism. Some spiritual interpretations posit that claircognizance is a connection to universal knowledge or the collective consciousness, suggesting an innate ability to tap into an omniscient source.

Clairsentience

Combining "clair" (clear) with "sentience" (feeling), clairsentience means "clear feeling." Clairsentience refers to the ability to physically feel or emotionally sense the energy or emotions of people, places, or events. This might manifest as gut feelings, sudden mood changes, or physical sensations. Empathy and heightened sensitivity have been recognized across various cultures. While some view clairsentience as a heightened form of empathy, others approach it with caution due to its inexplicable nature. Within mystical traditions, clairsentience might be seen as an enhanced sensitivity to the energy or vibrations of the universe, reflecting a deep interconnectedness of all things.

Compulsion

Derived from Latin "compellere," meaning "to drive or push together." Compulsion, in this context, refers to the purported ability to influence another's thoughts or actions without overt persuasion or physical interference. Historical records are replete with tales of individuals who held sway over masses, their compelling presence seemingly altering the will of others. Modern interpretations often approach such claims with caution, exploring psychological mechanisms behind suggestibility. Some spiritual interpretations suggest compulsion is an exertion of one's will or energy over another, tapping into the subtle dynamics of interwoven consciousness.

Title: Psychic Abilities: First Steps

Common Misconceptions

While psychic abilities have been recognized and debated for centuries, modern society often conflates them with broader supernatural phenomena. To distinguish: psychic abilities are often defined as potential innate capacities of the human psyche, whereas supernatural phenomena encompass a broader range of occurrences that supposedly defy natural laws. An example of such a conflation might be equating clairvoyance solely with ghostly apparitions or haunted locales, limiting the nuanced understanding of psychic phenomena. This conflation can be attributed to myriad factors, including cultural narratives, folklore, and limited exposure to diverse interpretations of psychic occurrences.

The Hollywood Influence

The entertainment industry, particularly Hollywood, has significantly molded perceptions of psychic phenomena. From sensationalized depictions of mediums speaking to the departed in horror movies to superheroes with telepathic abilities saving the world, these portrayals often prioritize spectacle over accuracy. While they capture the imagination and offer thrilling narratives, they may distort or exaggerate the nuances of genuine psychic experiences.

Hollywood's penchant for dramatization means that psychic abilities are frequently portrayed with an added layer of spectacle, potentially leading the general populace to harbor unrealistic or skewed expectations. For instance, telepathy in movies might be showcased as characters having fullblown conversations without speaking, while actual anecdotal accounts might reference fleeting impressions or emotions.

Skepticism and Belief

Public opinion on psychic phenomena is polarized, with skeptics and believers often at odds. Skeptics caution against gullibility, pointing to instances of fraud, the influence of cognitive biases, and the lack of empirical evidence as reasons for disbelief. On the other hand, staunch believers might dismiss skeptics as close minded or overly analytical.

However, a nuanced view acknowledges that both skepticism and belief have their merits. Blind skepticism might close one off to exploring uncharted territories of human experience, while unbridled belief risks being deceived by charlatans. An informed approach considers available evidence, remains open to possibilities, and constantly seeks deeper understanding, free from dogma.

New Age Influences and How to Avoid Them

The New Age movement, originating in the late 20th century, amalgamates various spiritual and metaphysical beliefs. While it has popularized many esoteric concepts, including some pertaining to psychic phenomena, it often does so without rigorous foundation or context.

To avoid undue New Age influences when exploring psychic phenomena:

Educate Yourself: Delve into historical, cultural, and scientific perspectives on psychic abilities. Understand that the New Age interpretation is just one among many.

Question Sources: Not all literature or speakers on psychic topics are reliable. Discern between those who have done comprehensive research and those echoing popular yet shallow narratives.

Practice Discernment: Be wary of commercialized aspects of the New Age movement, such as workshops or products that promise quick psychic awakenings without any substantial groundwork.

Theosophical Influences and How to Avoid Them

The Theosophical Society, founded in the 19th century, aimed to explore, study, and disseminate knowledge about the mystical and unknown. However, its interpretations of psychic and spiritual phenomena are specific to its doctrine.

To steer clear of Theosophical biases:

Broaden Your Horizon: While Theosophy offers a rich tapestry of esoteric thought, it's essential to explore other cultural, philosophical, and spiritual perspectives on psychic phenomena.

Recognize Distinctive Theosophical Concepts: By identifying core Theosophical tenets, one can differentiate them from other psychic or spiritual beliefs.

Engage in Open Discussion: Interacting with a diverse group of thinkers, researchers, and practitioners can help in discerning Theosophical influences from more universal or varied interpretations.

The Science Behind Psychic Abilities

Psychic phenomena have long captured human curiosity, leading to extensive investigations, both informal and academic. Over the past century, numerous institutions have endeavored to study psychic abilities under controlled conditions. These include efforts by prominent universities and independent research bodies.

One well-documented approach has been the use of Zener cards — a set of five symbols (circle, cross, waves, square, star) — to test for extrasensory perception (ESP). Participants predict the sequence of cards, and results are assessed against statistical probabilities to discern any significant deviations suggesting psychic abilities.

Another area of interest has been the study of telepathy, where participants, often in isolated chambers, attempt to transmit or receive thoughts, images, or emotions. Success rates beyond chance levels could, in theory, indicate telepathic capabilities.

Controversies and Criticisms

Despite the extensive body of research, psychic phenomena remain a contentious topic in the scientific community. Some of the primary criticisms include:

Replicability Issues: A foundational principle of science is that experiments should produce consistent results when replicated. Psychic phenomena, however, often lack this consistency, leading many to question their validity.

Methodological Flaws: Critics often point out potential flaws in the design or execution of psychic experiments. These could range from insufficient controls, potential biases, or even fraud.

Statistical Interpretations: While certain psychic studies claim statistical significance, skeptics argue that these could be anomalies or the result of incorrect data interpretation.

Potential Explanations

Given the elusive nature of psychic phenomena, several hypotheses have been proposed, ranging from the purely physiological to the quantum mechanical:

Subconscious Perception: Some suggest that what's perceived as psychic ability might be heightened sensitivity to subconscious cues. This could mean picking up on subtle body language, temperature changes, or even pheromones.

Quantum Mechanics: Some posit that the nonlocality principle in quantum physics, where particles can be interconnected over vast distances, might provide a framework for understanding psychic interconnections. Though this argument tends to be provided by those who do not understand quantum theory.

Unified Field Theory: Drawing from physics, some speculate that a yet to be discovered unified field might explain the interconnectedness of consciousness. Though this argument also tends to be provided by those who do not understand quantum theory.

Potential Biases Within Scientific Approaches

While the scientific method prides itself on objectivity, biases can infiltrate any field of study, including investigations into psychic phenomena:

Confirmation Bias: Researchers, like all individuals, can unconsciously favor data that aligns with their preexisting beliefs, potentially overlooking data that contradicts their hypotheses.

Publication Bias: Studies producing positive or sensational results are often more likely to be published than those with null or negative findings. This can skew the available literature and public perception.

Cultural and Historical Biases: Western scientific paradigms, rooted in materialism, might inherently dismiss phenomena that don't fit within this framework, whereas other cultures might approach the same phenomena differently.

It's crucial to approach psychic research with an awareness of these biases, ensuring comprehensive and balanced investigations.

Comfort with Paranormal Explanations and Experiences

Across the globe, individuals vary in their comfort levels with paranormal explanations. For some, a spiritual or mystical interpretation of an event is natural and enriching. For others, such interpretations might provoke discomfort, skepticism, or even fear.

Some cultures have rich traditions of spiritual and mystical experiences, making paranormal explanations more accepted and integrated. Direct personal experiences with phenomena that defy conventional explanations can either enhance comfort with the paranormal or, paradoxically, provoke greater skepticism. Awareness and understanding of various phenomena, whether through formal education, personal research, or exposure to diverse viewpoints, can influence one's comfort levels.

Title: Psychic Abilities: First Steps

Developing Psychic Abilities: A Comprehensive Approach

The initial phase in understanding psychic abilities requires identifying subtle indications that point towards their potential presence. Historically, various cultures have believed in the capability of certain individuals to perceive information hidden from the regular senses. These potential indicators might include:

Heightened Sensitivity: Some individuals report a heightened sensitivity to their surroundings, especially in terms of emotions and energies. They often feel strong empathic connections, allowing them to sense the emotions and moods of those around them, even if subtly expressed.

Frequent Déjà vu: The sensation of having experienced something previously, even when encountering it for the first time, may indicate a potential psychic inclination. While this phenomenon can be explained by various neurological processes, some interpret it as a sign of precognitive ability.

Predictive Dreams: Though dreams often arise from the subconscious mind processing daily events, some individuals note dreams that appear to foretell future events. While not always accurate, these dreams' predictive nature often stands out due to its specificity and detail.

Practice Techniques

To nurture psychic abilities, one must employ certain techniques and exercises that are designed to enhance these potential faculties. Here are some scientificallyacknowledged methods that might be beneficial:

Meditation: Meditation is a tool that aids in focusing the mind and building awareness of one's thoughts and surroundings. By practicing regular meditation, individuals can develop a heightened sense of intuition and possibly tap into deeper levels of perception.

Mindfulness: Being present in the moment can help individuals become more attuned to their surroundings and the subtle energies therein. Practicing mindfulness, like meditation, can be a foundation for honing psychic skills by fostering a keen awareness of the world around us.

Exposure to Varied Stimuli: Engaging with diverse environments, cultures, and experiences can sharpen one's intuitive skills. By exposing oneself to a broad array of stimuli, it becomes easier to identify patterns and connections that might not be immediately obvious.

Consistent Training

Consistency is vital when cultivating any skill, and the development of psychic abilities is no exception. Regular practice and a commitment to growth are imperative. Keeping a record of experiences, feelings, and intuitions can be beneficial. Over time, patterns may emerge, providing insights into the development and accuracy of psychic abilities.

Seeking feedback from trusted sources helps in gauging the accuracy of one's psychic perceptions and offers opportunities for refinement. Engaging with literature and scholarly articles on topics like parapsychology, cognitive science, and neurology can provide a rounded understanding and facilitate better practices.

Identifying Cognitive Bias

While exploring psychic abilities, it is crucial to be aware of cognitive biases. These are systematic patterns of deviation from rationality in judgment, where individuals create their own subjective reality from their perception. Examples include:

Confirmation Bias: The tendency to seek, interpret, and remember information in a way that confirms one's preconceptions. In the context of psychic abilities, this might manifest as remembering only accurate predictions while disregarding inaccuracies.

Apophenia: The human tendency to perceive meaningful patterns within random data. This could lead individuals to believe they've identified significant psychic insights when, in fact, they're drawing connections from unrelated events.

Identifying Mental Illness Symptoms that Seem Like Psychic Abilities

It is essential to differentiate between genuine psychic experiences and symptoms of mental illnesses. Some symptoms can mimic psychic phenomena, such as:

Hallucinations: These are sensory experiences in which a person can hear, see, smell, taste, or feel something that isn't there. While some might interpret these as psychic visions or messages, they are often associated with conditions like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

Delusions: Strongly held beliefs despite evidence to the contrary. For example, believing that one has a unique ability to predict events or read minds, when, in reality, evidence does not support these claims.

Hyperactivity and Racing Thoughts: Conditions such as bipolar disorder can lead to periods of hyperactivity and rapidly changing thoughts, which can be misconstrued as psychic energy or heightened intuition.

If you or someone you know shows symptoms of mental illness, you can find a list of assistance and services at the end of THIS article.

Title: Psychic Abilities: First Steps

Psychic Abilities and the Mind

The intricate network of the human brain, with its myriad neural connections, governs how we think, act, and perceive the world. Central to our understanding of psychic abilities is the role of cognitive functions. These are the mental processes that allow us to carry out tasks, make decisions, and interpret the world around us. A cornerstone of cognition, memory allows us to store and retrieve information from the past. It's been posited that individuals who claim to have psychic abilities might have an enhanced or different utilization of memory, allowing them to recall events or details others might overlook.

The capacity to concentrate on specific stimuli or events in our environment is critical for any psychic exploration. An acute sense of attention might enable some individuals to pick up on subtle cues or information generally unnoticed by the average person. Processing Speed is the time it takes for an individual to interpret and respond to stimuli. A heightened processing speed might allow for faster interpretation of sensory input, which some argue could be linked to certain psychic phenomena.

Role of Subconscious

The subconscious mind, operating below the level of conscious awareness, is a vast reservoir of thoughts, memories, and feelings. Its role in psychic abilities is a topic of significant interest.

Our subconscious continuously processes information, even when we are not actively thinking about it. These processes can lead to sudden insights or "gut feelings" that seem to come out of nowhere but might, in reality, be the result of the subconscious working behind the scenes. While dreams are a regular part of the human experience, some propose that they can serve as a conduit for psychic information. The subconscious mind, active during dreaming, might present information in symbolic or direct ways that could be interpreted as precognitive or clairvoyant insights. The subconscious mind plays a pivotal role in our emotional responses. Some individuals claim to "feel" others' emotions, suggesting that their subconscious minds might be more attuned to emotional stimuli from the environment.

Perception and Intuition

At the intersection of psychic abilities and the mind lies the realm of perception and intuition. These faculties determine how we interpret the world and react to it, and they play a potentially significant role in psychic phenomena.

Enhanced Sensory Perception: Some who claim psychic abilities report a heightened sense of sight, hearing, or other senses. This enhanced perception allows them to detect stimuli that others might miss, potentially leading to insights that seem psychic in nature.

Gut Feelings: Intuition, often described as a "gut feeling," is a form of innate understanding or knowledge without the need for conscious reasoning. While everyone experiences intuition to some degree, its role in psychic abilities might be more pronounced. This intuitive sense might be more developed or refined in some individuals, leading to perceptions that are out of the ordinary.

Pattern Recognition: Humans are naturally inclined to seek patterns in the environment, a trait that has evolutionary advantages. However, some propose that those with psychic inclinations might have an enhanced ability for pattern recognition, allowing them to see connections or insights that might elude others.

Title: Psychic Abilities: First Steps

Ethical Considerations in the Exploration of Psychic Abilities

The exploration of psychic abilities is not merely an introspective journey; it often intersects with the lives of others, especially when abilities are employed to provide insights or guidance. Herein lies the critical juncture of ethical use versus misuse.

Objective Approach: It is paramount for individuals claiming to possess psychic abilities to approach every situation with an objective mindset. Allowing biases or personal beliefs to interfere can lead to skewed interpretations, which might misguide those seeking counsel.

Financial Exploitation: With the commercialization of psychic readings and related services, there is a risk of financial exploitation. Ethical practitioners should be transparent about their services' costs and avoid exorbitant fees or manipulative tactics that compel repeated visits.

False Claims: Authenticity and truthfulness are fundamental. Individuals should refrain from making unsubstantiated claims about their abilities or the results they can achieve, as this can mislead and potentially harm others.

Respecting Privacy

Delving into the personal lives of others, whether intentionally or inadvertently, comes with significant ethical implications.

Unsolicited Readings: It is ethically questionable to provide unsolicited readings or insights into another person's life or situation. Even if one believes they have valuable information, it is essential to respect boundaries and only offer insights when explicitly asked.

Confidentiality: Similar to medical or therapeutic professions, individuals offering psychic services should maintain strict confidentiality. People's personal information, emotions, and situations should never be divulged without explicit consent.

Consideration of Potential Harm

The potential repercussions of psychic readings or interventions are not always immediately apparent. Therefore, a deep sense of responsibility and foresight is required.

Emotional Impact: Interactions can leave a lasting emotional imprint. Whether the information shared is positive or negative, practitioners must be sensitive to how it might affect an individual emotionally and mentally.

Dependency: There's a potential risk of individuals becoming overly reliant on psychic insights, sidelining their own judgment or decisionmaking abilities. Ethical practitioners should encourage autonomy and personal growth rather than fostering dependency.

Physical Actions: On rare occasions, insights or predictions might prompt individuals to take specific actions in their lives. It's crucial for those with psychic inclinations to understand the weight of their words and the potential physical ramifications they might have on others.

Psychic Abilities in Different Cultures

The concept of psychic abilities, while interpreted differently, exists in some form across various global cultures. Each culture's perspective provides a unique lens through which to understand and appreciate these phenomena.

Eastern Perspectives

In many Eastern traditions, psychic abilities are often interwoven with spiritual and philosophical systems.

Buddhism: Within Buddhist traditions, especially in Tibetan Buddhism*, there are references to "siddhis," which are supernormal powers attained through meditation and spiritual practice. These can range from clairvoyance to precognition. While these abilities are acknowledged, they're often considered secondary to the ultimate goal of enlightenment.

Hinduism*: Ancient Hindu scriptures, particularly the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, detail various psychic abilities termed "vibhuti." These abilities are said to emerge as one progresses along the path of yoga. However, they're treated with caution and are not the primary focus of spiritual development.

Daoism*: In Daoist traditions of China, psychic phenomena might be attributed to the harnessing of "qi" or vital energy. Daoist practitioners often engage in exercises to cultivate and balance qi, which in turn can lead to heightened abilities.

Western Perspectives

The Western world, influenced by a mix of JudeoChristian beliefs, scientific rationalism, and GrecoRoman philosophies, has its own take on psychic phenomena.

Ancient Greece: Oracles, like the famed Oracle of Delphi, played essential roles in ancient Greek society. These priestesses were believed to possess the ability to communicate with the gods and offer prophecies.

Medieval Europe: During the Middle Ages, individuals who claimed to have psychic abilities or other supernatural powers often faced persecution, associated with witchcraft and heresy.

Modern Era: With the rise of spiritualism in the 19th and 20th centuries, psychic abilities gained renewed interest. While often met with skepticism, especially from the scientific community, there remains a segment of the Western population that believes in and seeks out psychic experiences.

Indigenous Beliefs

Indigenous American Cultures: Among the Navajo*, there are individuals known as "hand tremblers" who are believed to diagnose illnesses or predict events. Similarly, the Lakota Sioux have "heyokas" or sacred clowns, who act in ways contrary to societal norms and offer unique insights.

Aboriginal Australians*: Dreamtime stories and spiritual beliefs play a central role in Aboriginal culture. The concept of "Dreaming" refers to both the ancient stories of creation and the personal dreamjourney of an individual, which can offer guidance and insights.

Shamanic Cultures of Siberia*: The term "shaman" originates from the Tungusic peoples of Siberia. Shamans in these cultures serve as intermediaries between the human and spirit worlds, accessing knowledge and healing through altered states of consciousness.

Maori of New Zealand*: The Maori have "tohunga," experts in specific areas, including those who interpret signs, dreams, and omens. They play a crucial role in guiding societal decisions and understanding the world.

African Cultures: Among the Dagara* of West Africa, there are individuals recognized as having a unique connection to the spirit world, often identified at a young age and trained to serve the community. Similarly, the Zulu* of South Africa have the "sangoma," traditional healers who diagnose and treat illnesses and communicate with ancestors.

Psychic Abilities and Personal Growth

The exploration of psychic abilities transcends mere curiosity about the supernatural. For many, it is an avenue towards profound personal growth, fostering a deeper understanding of oneself and one's place in the larger tapestry of human experience.

Self-awareness and Understanding

The journey into psychic phenomena often demands a heightened sense of selfawareness. This introspective path can lead to significant personal revelations.

Delving into psychic practices necessitates continual selfreflection. This process can unearth previously unrecognized aspects of one's character, beliefs, and motivations. Such insights offer opportunities for personal development and transformation. The exploration of psychic abilities can help individuals distinguish between their inner voice — that intuitive sense of knowing — and the cacophony of external influences. Recognizing and trusting this voice can guide decision making and foster a stronger sense of identity.

Some individuals believe that their psychic inclinations provide clarity about their life's purpose or direction. By tapping into these abilities, they feel more aligned with their personal and spiritual goals.

Emotional and Mental Health

The intertwining of psychic exploration and emotional and mental wellbeing is multifaceted and profound.

Processing Trauma: For some, psychic practices serve as a conduit for addressing and processing past traumas. By confronting these issues, individuals often find a path to healing and acceptance.

Managing Stress: Techniques often associated with psychic development, such as meditation and mindfulness, are beneficial for managing stress. These practices promote relaxation, mental clarity, and emotional balance.

Boosting Confidence: Recognizing and honing psychic abilities can bolster confidence. Individuals often feel empowered by their unique insights and the validation they receive from accurate perceptions or predictions.

Influence on Relationships

The ripple effects of psychic exploration extend into interpersonal relationships, shaping interactions and connections in various ways.

Enhanced Empathy: A heightened sensitivity to the emotions and energies of others can foster deeper empathy. This understanding can lead to more compassionate and supportive interactions with loved ones.

Navigating Conflicts: With increased intuition and perception, individuals might find it easier to navigate conflicts. Recognizing underlying issues or emotions can facilitate communication and resolution.

Building Trust: For those who share their psychic experiences with close friends or family, it can foster trust. When perceptions or insights prove accurate, it reinforces the bond between the psychic individual and those they interact with.

Psychic Abilities and Shadow Work

Shadow work refers to the process of confronting and understanding the darker, often suppressed facets of oneself. The interplay between psychic abilities and shadow work is intricate.

Unearthing Hidden Fears: Psychic experiences can bring to the surface latent fears or insecurities. These revelations, while challenging, are essential for personal growth. By addressing these fears, individuals can move towards holistic wellbeing.

Confronting Denial: Denial is a defense mechanism, shielding individuals from painful truths. However, psychic insights can pierce this veil, forcing a confrontation with realities one might prefer to ignore. This confrontation, though initially unsettling, is a step towards authenticity and selfacceptance.

Integration for Wholeness: The culmination of shadow work, when combined with psychic exploration, is the integration of all aspects of oneself. Recognizing and accepting both light and dark facets lead to a more balanced and whole self.

Understanding the Mystical Arts: Tarot vs. Oracle Cards

In the world of divination, both tarot and oracle cards hold significant places, yet they serve different purposes and tap into unique realms of the spiritual plane. Here’s a deeper look at how they differentiate and how you can harness their power effectively. 🔮✨

Tarot Cards: A Blend of Skill & Clairvoyance

Tarot reading is an art that balances both learned expertise and natural clairvoyant abilities. Here’s why:

- **Skill**: Reading tarot cards requires a deep understanding of the cards' meanings, symbolism, and the intricate connections between them. This knowledge is honed through study and practice.

- **Clairvoyance**: A gifted reader channels their intuitive and psychic abilities to interpret the messages the cards reveal, often uncovering insights that transcend the obvious.

Oracle Cards: Divine Connection to Higher Sources ✨

Oracle cards, on the other hand, are a conduit for more magical and mystical energies:

- **Higher Sources**: These cards are believed to draw guidance from higher spiritual entities such as spirit guides, ancestors, and angels, offering messages that are often more direct and less structured than tarot.

- **Magical Essence**: Oracle cards are imbued with a sense of magic that connects you to a higher plane, providing wisdom and guidance that feels otherworldly and profound.

Grounding & Protection: Essential Practices

Whether you're using tarot or oracle cards, grounding and protection are crucial for a safe and effective reading. Before diving into a session:

- **Ground Yourself**: Ensure you are centered and connected to the earth. This helps maintain balance and focus.

- **Protect Your Energy**: Use protective rituals or visualizations to shield yourself from negative energies. This ensures that you only connect with benevolent spirits and guides.

- **Trust Your Intuition**: Your intuition is your most powerful tool. If something feels off, it probably is. Trust your gut – it’s 99% foolproof!

By grounding and protecting yourself, you create a safe space for divine downloads to your third eye, allowing you to receive messages from those who wish you well. You’ll know right away if the connection is true – trust in your intuition and let it guide you through the mystical journey of divination.

Embrace the Magic & Wisdom of Both Worlds!

Claircognizance • Astro placement

Claircognizance is a perception that allows one to intuitively know information without any external cues. It's also called "psychic knowing". People with claircognizance often receive sudden insights or answers to questions that they didn't consciously think about. They may have a strong sense of conviction about certain things, even if they can't explain how they know.

❥ Personal Planet in 12th House

They tend to be silent observers who enjoy seeking out quiet environments. They have the ability to concentrate their awareness on a single area with ease, which allows them to notice details that others may miss.

This intense focus can sometimes cause them to become absorbed in their own thoughts, they can easily get unnoticed.

They blend into the background can also be an advantage, as it allows them to observe their surroundings and the people in it closely. They are able to take in more information and details silently, without drawing attention to themselves or disrupting the flow.

They are not intentionally sneaky, but they are not bothered by it either.

♡♡♡♡

❥ Sun conjunct Mercury

People who express what they think are usually confident in their beliefs and are often deep thinkers. However, they also believe that taking action is more important than just thinking. They pay close attention to people's behavior because they believe it reflects their thoughts. They observe how people act and behave because they believe that actions can reveal the truth more than words. Therefore, they cannot be easily deceived because they can read people's true intentions through their actions. In summary, these individuals value both thoughts and actions and use both to gain a deeper understanding of people and situations.

♡♡♡♡

❥ Water moon - especially Pisces

They have the ability to recognize patterns in various situations. They can see similarities and connections between events and situations, and use their observations to summarize patterns and make predictions about the future. Their ability to recognize patterns extends to observations from a long time ago as well.

They also have a heightened sense of empathy, allowing them to intuitively understand the emotions of those around them - where others may be hesitant to express their true feelings.

They can draw on their experiences and knowledge to make sense of complex situations and offer unique insights.

♡♡♡♡

❥ Moon conjunct Mercury

They possess a clear and focused mind that allows them to think with precision and attention to detail. They have a knack for noticing things that others might miss, but they may not share their insights immediately. Despite their abilities, they may sometimes doubt themselves. Their observations are often proven correct, especially when their emotional intelligence is stable.

♡♡♡♡

❥ MC conjunct Neptune

They have a deep understanding of their purpose in life, or their "calling." While they may not have a clear idea of what their future holds, they trust their instincts and are not afraid to try new things to figure out what is best for them.

Their creative side is influenced by Neptune, which is associated with artistic expression. They use various forms of art to extend their knowledge and express themselves. It's as if they are creating their own dream world where they can fully explore their innermost thoughts and feelings. Through their art, they can communicate their unique perspective and share their vision with others.

They possess self-awareness and take risks to chase their passions, drawing upon their creativity and artistic expression to discover and fulfill their life's purpose.

Connecting with Gods and Deities

Connecting With Gods And Deities

Hello, My name is Alva Tauri! I am an herbalist, spirit worker, tarot and oracle reader, and lunar and herbal witch dedicated to closing the education gap when it comes to herbalism and witch practices!

Today, I wanted to talk about ways in which I connect with the Gods and deities I worship in my life, to aid new witches in this task in their day to day practice. I believe that we oftentimes overcomplicated this part of our practice and that can make this task seem overwhelming and daunting when, in reality, connection can be simple.

I want to gear this post towards my new witches who do not fully grasp the concept yet or don't yet have an altar, as well as my fellow neurodivergent, mentally ill, and/or chronically ill witches who may find this task daunting for other reasons (I.E. low physical, low mental energy, physical pain, etc.) A portion of this post will be dedicated to low energy ways to connect with your Gods and/or deities to make your practice a bit easier.

Let's get started!

Connecting With Gods And Deities

Day to Day Connections

it can be difficult to remember to do rituals or sit at our altar intentionally in our busy lives. here are some tasks you can do within minutes every single day to connect with your Gods and/or deities - great for days that are hectic or with minimal free time:

light a candle and simply say thank you

offer the meal or snack that you made to them

offer your drink to them

bit them goodmorning and goodnight

thank them for the things you enjoy throughout your day

dedicate a cleaning task to them (I.E. vacuuming, doing laundry, etc.)

cleanse your space spiritually and dedicate that task to them (I.E. sage burning, incense, etc.)

Altar-less Connections

we were all new or closeted witches at one point in our lives. none of us started with an altar and a fancy set up with all the tools we needed. here are some ways that you can connect with your Gods and/or deities without an altar:

read about your Gods and/or deities myths and legends

spend some time meditating and simply thinking about them

wear their colors as symbols

make a digital offering to them online

write poetry for them

pray to them

make a playlist for them and listen to it

talk to them about your day (this can be in your head if you are closeted. you do not have to pray out loud for them to hear you. they are always with you and supporting you)

Low Energy Connections

for my fellow neurodivergent, chronically ill, and/or mentally ill witches, here is a section full of little ways you can connect with your Gods and/or deities on rough days that leave you with low mental or physical energy:

pray from the comfort of your bed (they will know you mean this with good intentions. they will not be offended. trust me.)

talk to them about your day

dedicate your self-care routine (no matter how short or long it is) to your Gods and/or deities

offer them your food or drink - this can be as simple as offering them a glass of water if that is all you have the energy to get in that moment

light a candle or incense in their honor (I recommend incense if you are feeling truly exhausted, as you can leaving it burning without any major repercussions, unlike a candle)

dedicate a moment of rest to them (I.E. sleeping, taking a nap, even just taking a moment to sit in silence and rest your body and mind)

make a playlist for them and listen

make a post or pinterest board in their honor

Advanced, More Time Consuming Methods of Connection

on days that you have the time and the energy and are feeling a calling to make a bigger grand gesture, here are some tasks I like to do at my altar. NOTE: you do not have to do these everyday or even every week. if you feel a calling to do this, then do. if you do not, then these are not required. remember, at the end of the day you know your relations with your Gods and/or deities better than anyone else. trust your gut and your intuition:

COMING SOON!

Connecting With Gods And Deities

That's all for connections with your Gods and/or Deities! I hope that you found this helpful in your spiritual journey and I hope that you are able to apply this information to your practice.

if you have any questions regarding anything discussed here or anything you feel that I have missed, please send an ask to my ask box! I appreciate all comments and questions!

For more information on my practice, witchcraft, herbalism, spirit work, and divination please check out the guide on my page (linked here)! Everything I have ever posted can be found there!

I wish you all a blessed day filled with peace, endless wealth, and eternal health! Until the next time we meet!

Recommended tips for research as a beginner witch/practioner:

Research as a beginner can at times feel stressful if you don't know credibilties or anything about the craft really. So, I'm going to share some tips I use in my practice and would recommend when researching witchcraft.

Research what interests you. If research begins to feel like a task instead of genuine interest or fun, there will be problems down the line with researching thoroughly. That isn't to say don't research things that bore you, it means that you should take what resonates with you and from there you can begin to build the framework for your personal craft.

Does the source align with your moral standing and personal beliefs? If the answer is no, time to find a new source. For example, if a source is fully against any harm towards another person and tries to push that narrative on the reader/viewer (or vice versa) and it's not something you personally align with, find another source. The most important example of this is many authors are bigots, terfs or cultural appropriaters. Remember to research the author and their practice before trusting what they have to say.

What may work for some people will not work for you. Do not feel inclined to do everything a certain way as said by a certain practioner. The point of witchcraft is to develop your own habits and outlooks. Crystals and astrology may work best for someone, but you may have an inclination towards herbs and palmistry for example. You do not need to practice every form of witchcraft out there. So circling back to the first point, pay mind to what sparks joy and what aligns with your abilities.

Take everything with a grain of salt. Learn to question what you learn. As witchcraft and spirituality have been practiced in many cultures for many years, things have evolved and been taken from one context to the next. Research various practices and rituals as well as the authors and cultures who promoted said practices

Use multiple sources. Blindly believing one post can be harmful, especially when concerning topics that can be a manner of physical safety (fire hazards, dressing candles, consumption and burning of herbs) or spiritual safety (spirit work, baneful work, trickster spirits). The more research the better, as it solidifies understanding too.

Do not rely solely on social media, but use it as a crutch to what you already know. Many content creators care more about views or aesthetics than educating. But many creators also DO care about what they're putting out there and have genuinely good tips and tricks for various practices. Just be wary.

Don't worry about aesthetics or perfection when you're just learning. Don't let pinterest photos of altars downplay your own craft and beauty. Right now, you're learning new topics and there's plenty of time later to find pretty altar tools or to neatly scribe in a leather journal. Don't let it distract you from research, and ultimately, the goal is to grow.

Have fun with it! There are so many research topics, and it can be as expansive or specific as you make it. Remember this isn't supposed to be stressful, it's supposed to be rewarding.

(Please add your own tips too if you'd like!)

Low Energy Devotional Activities and Ways to Connect with the Gods

Let's be honest, religion and consistent practice can be HARD, especially when you're chronically ill, disabled, mentally ill or neurodivergent. This is a list of lower energy practices you can do to connect with your Gods when you're having a rough day.

Pray. You don't have to say the prayer. You don't have to do the full cleansing and offering. Just think about the prayer. It could be as simple as "'Deity Name', thank you. I'm thinking of you and appreciate you."

Dedicate any self care you do to the Gods. You've got to take meds? awesome. it's now a devotional activity.

If you can, light a tea light candle. You can think about who you're dedicating it to as you're lighting it.

Tell them about your day. Have a simple conversation with them (again, this can be in your head if needed).

Offer some water! Water is a great offering if you don’t have the energy to cook, collect or buy something.

Incense is also a great offering because you can light it then forget about it and your house won’t burn down (if you follow regular safety measures).

Resting. Your deities want you to be okay. Dedicating your rest to your deities is especially great if you feel guilty for allowing yourself time to heal.

Turn on a video of someone reading mythos!

Put on a deity playlist. There are plenty of pre-made ones on Spotify.

Veil or bind your hair! Whenever I’m low energy I’ll throw my hair in a ponytail and bind it that way. It doesn’t have to be extravagant.

Make a Pinterest board for them!

Post on a digital altar! There are plenty of discord servers that have digital altars and temples. You could also make a devotional Tumblr blog.

Change your phone lock/home screen to something that reminds you of your Deity.

I hope this is helpful to anyone who needs it! Take care of yourself first and foremost. If you don't think you can manage something on this list then thats perfectly fine too! you're not a bad person for not being able to do something spiritual or religious. Ultimately, these things are not a necessity. Don't stress :)

Shielding

Psychic Shielding Visualisations

Here’s a list of psychic shielding visualizations to help protect your energy and create a strong boundary against unwanted influences. These visualizations are useful for creating energetic shields that block out negativity, drain, or harmful influences.

These visualizations offer a variety of methods to create psychic shields that block out negative or harmful influences. You can use whichever one resonates with you or mix and match them depending on your needs!

Golden Bubble Shield

Visualize a large, glowing golden bubble surrounding your entire body. This bubble repels negative energy and only allows positive, loving energy to pass through, keeping you protected and safe within.

Mirror Shield

Picture a reflective shield or sphere around you, like a mirror. Any negative energy that approaches you is reflected back to its source, while positive energy is absorbed and welcomed within the shield.

White Light Shield

Imagine a brilliant white light radiating from your heart or crown, expanding out to form a protective shield around you. This pure, divine light blocks all harmful energies while keeping you connected to higher, positive vibrations.

Elemental Shield

Choose an element (fire, water, air, or earth) and visualize it forming a protective barrier around you. A wall of flames, a flowing water vortex, a gust of wind, or a strong stone wall will create an elemental shield that protects you from harm.

Rainbow Shield

Picture a multicolored rainbow bubble surrounding you. Each color represents different layers of protection—red for grounding, orange for emotional balance, yellow for personal power, green for healing, blue for communication, indigo for intuition, and violet for spiritual protection.

Iron Fortress

Visualize an impenetrable fortress made of iron or stone surrounding you. This fortress is strong and unbreakable, keeping you safe from any external energies, attacks, or unwanted influences.

Glass Dome

Imagine yourself standing inside a clear glass dome. The dome allows you to see and interact with the outside world but protects you from any negative energies or psychic intrusions that may try to enter your space.

Shield of Feathers

Picture a soft, gentle shield made of feathers surrounding your body. The feathers absorb any negativity or harmful energy that comes your way, diffusing it before it reaches you and keeping your energy light and protected.

Spider Web Shield

Visualize a shimmering spider web around you, made of strong, fine threads. Any negativity or harmful energy that touches the web gets caught and dissolved, leaving you unharmed.

Crystal Shield

Picture a protective shield made of your favorite crystal (like amethyst, quartz, or obsidian) forming around you. The crystal's energy amplifies your protection, keeping you shielded from harmful or draining energies.

Fire Ring

Visualize a circle of protective flames surrounding you. The fire burns away any negative energy that tries to come near, purifying and protecting your energy from psychic attack or emotional drain.

Silver Armor

Imagine yourself wearing a suit of silver armor, protecting your entire body. This armor deflects any negative energy or harmful intentions directed your way, keeping you safe from psychic harm.

Moonlight Shield

Picture soft, silvery moonlight forming a shield around your body. The gentle but powerful energy of the moon creates a protective barrier, soothing and guarding you from unwanted energy or influences.

Waterfall Shield

Envision a flowing waterfall surrounding your body, acting as a shield. The water continuously washes away any negative energy or psychic attacks, leaving your energy field clear and protected.

Diamond Shield

Visualize a brilliant diamond-like structure around you. Its multifaceted surface reflects and disperses any harmful energy that approaches, while its strength and clarity provide powerful protection.

Lotus Flower Shield

Imagine a lotus flower blooming around you, its petals forming a protective shield. The flower symbolizes purity and peace, guarding you from any negativity while allowing you to remain calm and centered.

Starry Night Shield

Picture a vast starry night sky surrounding you. Each star represents a point of protection, creating an infinite shield of cosmic energy that deflects negativity and keeps you safe within your own energetic space.

Shield of Sunlight

Visualize rays of sunlight forming a protective barrier around you. The warmth and light of the sun dissolve any dark or harmful energy before it can reach you, leaving you enveloped in warmth and safety.

Electric Shield

Imagine an electric field of energy buzzing around your body. Any negative energy that comes close is zapped and neutralized by the electric charge, protecting your personal space from intrusions.

Cocoon of Silk

Visualize a cocoon made of silk threads wrapping around you. The threads are delicate yet strong, forming a protective barrier that shields you from any harmful influences while keeping your energy secure.

Violet Flame Shield

Picture a violet flame surrounding your body, burning brightly and protecting you from any negative energy or psychic attack. The violet flame transmutes negative energy into positive energy, keeping you safe and empowered.

Phoenix Wings

Envision the wings of a phoenix wrapping around you, their fiery energy shielding you from harm. The phoenix’s regenerative power protects you and helps you rise above any negative or harmful influences.

Aura Shield

Visualize your aura expanding outward, growing bright and strong. As your aura expands, it forms a protective barrier that deflects negativity, preventing any harmful energy from entering your personal space.

Holographic Shield

Picture a holographic shield that adapts to any threat, changing color and texture as needed to block negative energies. The shield responds automatically to any psychic attacks or unwanted energy, keeping you protected at all times.

Rooted Forest Shield

Envision yourself standing in the center of an ancient forest. The trees around you create a natural shield, their roots and branches intertwined to protect you from external energies, grounding you and providing powerful energetic protection.

Use your 3rd house & Mercury for manifestation

Finding your own manifestation method that gives consistent results, at a consistent frequency is peak life magic for me.

My manifestation method is called "Written coloured words on calendar". I have a theory that since Mercury is associated with The Magician in Tarot, it has something to do with manifesting, especially by using verbal or written words. Mercury will help manifesting the themes of the house that it rules. While the energy of the planet that rules your 3rd house will be the tool to communicate and express your messages.

Do give it a try and tell me if it's effective for you too. If you have your own manifestation method, feel free to spread the magic.

Use Your 3rd House & Mercury For Manifestation

1. What you need

Coloured pens (the colour of the ink of the pen or the lead if you are using pencils, not the colour of the case)

A calendar that has space to write on (other things like a piece of paper or notebook don't work)

Basic astrology knowledge & your chart: you should know what planet rules your 3rd house and what house does Mercury rule in your chart

2. How I do it

The colour: Choose the pen with the colour that matches the colour associated with the planet that rules your 3rd house.

The phrase: I write "I want/need change" with that coloured pen around the space of the present day on the calendar. The phrase should be short, with a broad meaning, conveys the matters related to the house that Mercury rules in your chart. Don't be too specific like I want a red dress or I want 100$, start with general terms like asking for changes, surprises, chances, opportunities, helps, guidance.

Timing: the manifestation will happen within the next week, without fail, this is how it worked for me, the speed might depend on the planet that rules your 3rd house.

Example of how it works: I have Mercury rules my 3rd house & 6th house so it can be straightforward, whenever I wrote "I want change" with green (colour of Mercury) pen on the calendar, within the next week, a new business partnership/offer & more works (3rd & 6th house matters) appeared, I met someone new who would have Gemini or Virgo or both placements in their chart, who I would do business with, work with, travel with or became my friend (3rd & 6th house matters).

*Notes:

So you won't be able to manifest other things related to different houses & planets other than 3rd house and Mercury? → Most likely, I've tried with different houses & planets but it usually had short-term effect or no observable effect, while 3rd house and Mercury gave more long-term effects.

Each manifestation works only once, if you want it to happen again, you will need to write again.

3. Colours associated with each planet & their effect

Here is the list of effects I have observed through the years practising this. It can change depending on your chart though, try to experiment with each one yourself.

Yellow - Sun: Joyful events

Grey - Moon: No observable effect

Green - Mercury: Business, friendships, partnerships (strongest manifestation power, at least for me)

Pink - Venus: Interactions, pleasant exchanges

Red - Mars, Black - Pluto: Immediate unpleasant effects like traffic problems, meeting people in bad moods, troubles with machines, things become more hectic

Navy - Saturn, Blue - Uranus, Teal - Neptune : No observable effect

Purple - Neptune/Jupiter : Increase or decrease of interactions with people, can give rise to popularity but can also slow down your progress (I haven't really figured out this one yet)

Orange - Jupiter: Chances to expand your perspective, be more brave, test your resolution and faith. Some events can be negative at first but will turn out alright, after that you will learn some valuable lessons.

Dark femininity literally transformed my life. You can call it what you want, it's simply about embracing your darkness, letting go of "being too much" or not being "perfect". It's about setting boundaries. It's giving yourself permission to be authentic, passionate, beautifully imperfect and raw, falling shamelessly in love with yourself, and most important of all, being fiercely protective of yourself (your inner child, your vulnerability, your softness).

Ladies, you need that edge, that boundary. Without it, you're an overflowing ocean that can be easily scattered or exploited. The only way to preserve your softness is learn how to be your own guardian first and foremost; because it's not possible nor healthy to always depend on others to do it for you.

Pick a card - Message from Lilith 🦉

Inspired by the previous reading on how to make some changes in your life, I invited Lilith the mother monster to give us some guidance to live a better, freer, more independent life.

As expected, some of the messages are HEAVY. If you're not ready for heavy messages, this reading may not be for you. I put trigger warning on the parts I mentioned potentially triggering topics. You can skip those parts if you don't want to see them.

As this is a general reading, please take what resonates and leave the rest behind. You may also tone down the intensity of the messages by yourself if the general ideas of the message still apply to you.

I hope this reading can help you live a more honest and fulfilling life. Even when some of the messages are harsh, Lilith and I deliver them with the intention of improving your situation, and bringing positivity to you.

👇🏻 Pick a butterfly that you felt drawn to 👇🏻

Pick A Card - Message From Lilith 🦉

And find the corresponding reading for you below!

Pile 1

Lilith wants you to be more selfish. It seems that you're pouring too much of your energy on others. You're so quick to react to people's wishes, opinions, expectations, etc. You're a people pleaser, and you believe you can find happiness in people's compliments. However, Lilith wants to remind you that you're sacrificing your own personal development for the happiness you're getting. The more time you spend on thinking about what to do for the people, the less time you spend on thinking what to do for yourself. The more time you spend on thinking what people want from you, the less time you spend on thinking what you really want for yourself. These are the two tasks that cannot be performed at the same time, so Lilith really wants you to evaluate if what you're doing really worth the amount of happiness you're getting for return.

Some of you may become a people pleaser because of past traumas. Some of you may do it just because you believe that you shouldn't change something that's working in the past. But Lilith wants to remind you that you can never find the one that truly loves you or care about you, if what you're showing to people is not your authentic self. The thing you're working so hard to get love from people is the one thing that blocks you from being loved by people, isn't it a bit pathetic?

Lilith wants to invite you to discover what you truly desire, and just do the things that you enjoy. The process of digging through your heart to find your true self, and the experience of being a "villain" is tedious, painful, and even terrifying at first. But Lilith wants to tell you that it will worth the hard work, and she also wants to remind you that it's literally the only way to find true love and happiness.

Toss your worry behind, and start making real progress now. You will find sorrow within you, you will feel bad for a while, but those are difficulties that you can solve. If you don't face them, they will never be solved. Lilith also wants to tell you that making yourself happy is actually so much easier than making others happy, because you know exactly what you're thinking. It is a harsh truth that you can never know what others truly thinking about you no matter how much effort you pour into investigating it.

Lilith also wants me to tell you that The Emperor card was drawn in this reading. It may be meaningful for you, or the meaning of the card can be inspiring for you. A message I want to add personally is, "Your family can make you a king, but only you can make yourself a conqueror, and you don't need the help of your family, or even anyone else to do that."

Pile 2

You're suffering. Lilith wants you to acknowledge the fact that you're suffering (more specifically, a victim), instead of trying to tell yourself that everything is fine. You cannot right the wrongs if you never acknowledge the fact that there's something wrong happening. Stop fighting with yourself in your mind. Start working on the same goal. Even if it takes you time to plan, or just to pin point what is truly important to you, it's so much better than wasting your time and energy to work on nothing. You have to understand that performing meaningless actions will not lead to any progress, even if you're doing something.

//

!!! TW: SEXUAL ASSAULT!!!

Lilith also want me to talk about sexual trauma here, so I will talk about it in the next paragraph. Skip it if you are not comfortable with this topic.

I can see that some of you may be harmed by someone that you really looked up to, like a lover that you paid so much efforts in getting their heart. I can also see that you may be shamed by a group of friends, or just people in general about your sexuality. It may be related to the harm that you suffered, or not. You believe that it is your fault, because it seems to be impossible for others to be wrong, especially when the one who harmed you is a person that you really looked up to. But Lilith wants to remind you that denying your worth, denying the truth of what happened, will not make the wound magically disappear. Time can heal your wounds, but you have to allow yourself walk away from the past. This can only be done when you stop building a cocoon of lies, so you can sleep in a dream that everything is ok. Acknowledge the fact that you're the victim. It may not help with the situation, as it had already happened. But changing your perspective can really help you to vent out the emotions trapped within you. When the toxicity starts to be drained from the system, it'll be so much easier for you to heal, and invite happiness and confidence you always deserve to enter your life.

//

Lilith feels that your life is stuck because you're denying the fact that people did you wrong. It's like you're trying to balance the two sides of the scale, while there's nothing on one side. It's a mission impossible until you put something on the other side, which is putting yourself into the equation. Before this, you're just doing nothing but wasting your time. Lilith wants you to start putting yourself first. You may believe that it's so foolish to only think about yourself, or even believe that it is harmful for people. But Lilith wants to tell you that you can go full force on being selfish because this is how imbalanced the scale is right now.

Lilith admires that you have a logical mind, and likes to use this side of you to solve problems. You want to solve problems in the best way possible, and that's why Lilith wants to remind you that you have left yourself out of the equation. Remember, you're a good person no matter what you do, because this is the nature of you. You're an angel so please don't ever make yourself live in hell again.

Pile3

Wow! Lilith thinks that you're slaying! You're doing great so please take this reading as a confirmation that you should continue to shine and glow. If you're still considering if you should show yourself off to the world, do this right now because you're so flawless! You're amazing even when you're in your worst days. Some days you can be messy, but you're still a beautiful (hot) mess. Continue to radiate your energy, and great things will come to you.

Sometimes you may think that you're impulsive, and always let your intrusive thoughts win. But Lilith wants you to admire this aspect of you. Not only you have the ability to carry out your intrusive thoughts so beautifully, the work you are doing is also very inspiring to people. Your honesty makes people rethink about the values they're following. Some of them may not agree with you, but you still inspire them to think about why they still believe in what they believe. Please continue to follow your heart and do what you're doing. If you're scared that things you want to do may offend people, Lilith wants you to throw the fear away and do the thing right now. Also, if you're an introvert, Lilith wants you to show yourself to the people more. Engaging in more social activities can lead to more positive energies flowing into your life!

For some of you, especially the feminine ones, you have great skills in dealing with men. Men can't help but fall in love with you, and treat you like the queen you are. You have a mesmerizing way to interacting with men, making even the most "aggressive" man become a kitty for you and do what you want them to do. Lilith loves what she sees and wants you to keep up the good work 🦉👍🏻 or be more confident in yourself and start using your talent if you're not doing the good work yet.

Chaos Magic and Eclectic Beliefs

I’ve always had a fascination with the philosophy of chaos magic and the history behind it. So, I’m going to take a page from my grimore and try my best to explain the philosophy of chaos magic, what it means and what it stands for. There’s a lot, and I tried to condense it as best I could, but I got all the essentials in there. At the end I’ll explain my feelings toward chaos magic and my personal beliefs. Enjoy! 🤗

Chaos Magic

Chaos magic, in its core, is the practice of manipulating the Universe and experimenting with probability. Chaos magicians are much like eclectic magic practitioners, but at the same time they are worlds apart.

Chaos magicians believe in the power of willpower and intention. Their magic focuses soley on the self and their energy. It goes against the very foundation of chaos magic to permanently adopt rituals and set beliefs into their craft. Their philosophy involves having no common components and using whatever ideas and practices that are helpful to them in the moment, even if they contradict the ideas and practices they used previously. For example, a chaos magician may dedicate a spell to a Greek deity one day, but the next they adopt a ritual from Satanism, only to throw it away the next hour.

Chaos magic is all about setting an intention into the Universe, saying “This will happen because I will it to”, by any means necessary. They adopt and disregard beliefs and rituals at a moments notice because they see the interconnectivity of everything. Every plant, every animal, every deity, demon, spirit and entity are all, essentially, the same exact thing. So it doesn’t matter from what religion or practice or belief you betray you borrow from, because all that matters is your intention and your personal energy.

This can be broken down in a simple equation shown here:

Chaos Magic And Eclectic Beliefs

My beliefs

I’ve adopted some aspects of chaos magic into my craft, such as the belief in the interchangeability of everything and the practice of walking multiple paths at once. However, I couldn’t be classified as a “chaos magician” for one simple reason: I have permanent rituals ingrained in my craft. I have certain deities that I worship and while I am very eclectic in my path, I do have certain belief systems that I monogamously follow. For example, I claim Athena and Artemis as my patreon goddesses, but I also follow and pray to Macha, the Celtic goddess war, and I also celebrated holidays prelevant in the Wiccan religion. I whole-heartedly believe in the sanctity and power of one’s self, and that we all hold an immense energy that’s capable of swaying the Universe in our favor. But o also draw strength from my goddesses and the ancient wisdom of the Earth and Nature. While I don’t believe in a physical Satan or Lucifer, I admire the Satanist religion and have adopted their philosophy of free will into my craft. Same thing with angels; while I don’t believe in “angels” as you might hear about in Christian-centured religions, persay, I keep an eye out for numbers and other signs that some force of good in the Universe might be trying to show me. I belief in my own intention and my power to better the world around me as I was probably sent here to do. I believe we can all reach Nirvana, if you will, through insight and honing the energy in and around us to connect to the Universe’s network. Do, I guess you could call me a chaotic eclectic with. One who will use their energy for both the good of themself and those around them.

I hope this has given you a better look into chaos magic and at least answered some of your questions about the deeper meanings behind it. Remember, it’s all about intentions, kids!

Blessed be!

Be Aware That This Blog May Touch On Sensitive Topics Regarding Death So Read On At Your Own Discretion.

Be aware that this blog may touch on sensitive topics regarding death so read on at your own discretion.

• 💀 • Death Energy • 💀 •

Death energy is just energy that comes from death and death symbolism, but as simple of an answer as that seems to be, don’t be fooled by the much deeper complexities that this topic harbors. When we really dig into it we discover some darker truths about our existence and the hereafter. Truths that many people are more comfortable ignoring because they force us to face the inevitable.

Death energy is about stillness, endings, and about the deconstructing and reconstructing processes. It’s about using what’s passed to fertilize what’s new and grow something that has purpose in the next step of your life. It’s about the acceptance of inevitability and what we can’t change to bring about what we can. All in all it’s a very unique energy that can open many new doors for any witch willing to try.

• What Does Death Energy Feel Like? •

Everyone feels energy differently in the basic of ways but even still, it should go without saying that death energy has a different pull to it entirely then life energy. Sometimes those who aren’t used to connecting with it can have a hard time. It’s been described as heavy, or even smothering by some. Others have said it feels cold or chilling in a way. The funny thing here is that these definitely describe what naturally comes with death. Our bodies get stiff and much heavier. We lose our heat and grow cold, and while this definitely sounds unpleasant and shocking to those who aren’t used to spending time with it we must also recognize that it’s a part of a continued cycle. As our bodies further decay the weight becomes less and the shock of the cold against the once warm skin becomes just another room temperature feeling. Another words, things come to feel more natural especially when you understand the process and spend time with it.

All new energy can feel overwhelming to anyone who hasn’t experienced it before. It can bring up a whole plethora of unease, nervousness, even anxiety if you’re not ready for it. Especially death energy. As stated above, it can force us to face certain things. Things that can be heavy and hard to accept. For this reason working death energy may not be for everyone and that’s okay. It deals with subject matter that makes some people uncomfortable and as such if you’re not ready to incorporate it you have every right not to.

• What Can Death Energy Be Used For? •

Death energy is the primary force in death witchcraft and death magick. And as a result each witch is gonna use it in their own unique way. There are so many interesting books and articles published that describe plethora of interesting ways to work with the energy of death. Many of which put their own unique understanding and spin on how it came to be, how it works, and how you can use it. But in my opinion you can use death energy for everything you can use life energy for and then some. It just pulls the magick from a different place and in a different way. Remember each one of us processes things in a different way, especially death energy. Do what makes you feel comfortable and never let anyone push you to cross any lines you’re not ready for. Comfort in magick is very important.

Lastly I want to take this time to emphasize what death energy is not used for. It is not and never will be an excuse to just take human life. Murdering someone is never okay. Nor is it an excuse to unnecessarily torture animals. Now I understand that using animals in general can be a debatable subject, especially when they are killed by the individual. However it should be understood that many believe this is okay during appropriate times and only when you utilize the animal and not waste it. So as an example hunting during deer season or catching a fish. The animal in question can be used for magick but will also ultimately be eaten and many witches see this as an appropriate practice. As long as everything operates within the confines of the law and everything is treated with respect and dignity.

• 💀 • Cemetery Work • 💀 •

For a lot of death witches, doing work in a cemetery or graveyard is a must, although there are those that don’t, a great deal more either do or will do when they get the chance. Lots goes into this type of work though and a thorough study on the subject should be done before pursuing this type of magick. However, some key points to remember are to always be respectful, obey the laws and rules of your land regarding the resting places, and listen to what the dead tell you.

It’s very important to recognize that there are always going to be practitioners that have their own unique rules on this subject, but the best way to know if the dead favor something or not is to ask them. What rules you inevitably believe should revolve around what the dead are comfortable with. That said, some of these rules are shared amongst practitioners. I have compiled a list below with some of them. Remember, this is very basic and what a practitioner adds or changes is up to them.

💀 Always bring an offering for the gatekeeper.

Typically these are the oldest spirits in the cemetery and are in charge of maintaining order. Most offerings include things like coins, drink, bread, or apples.

💀 State exactly what you’ll be doing and ask permission from the gatekeeper.

It’s important to let the spirits know what your intentions are. Will you be doing magick at the crossroads, magick at a grave, or foraging? The gatekeeper should let you know through energy what is acceptable. Remember each Cemetery is different and has different rules over all.

💀 Never take things directly from a grave.

Gifts on a grave belong to the spirit dwelling there. It’s okay to pick up things like trash, or moldy flowers in still water but, rocks, dried or fresh flowers, feathers, etc should be left alone.

💀 Be respectful of the graves and spirits.

Try not to walk near the headstone of a grave (you’re walking on their body. Try to stay near the feet and always say excuse me politely if you have to step on it), always ask for a spirits help never demand it, and always bring them an offering as a thank you.

💀 When foraging never take what a spirit tells you not to.

If you’re gathering dirt, sticks, or plants from a cemetery, even if it’s not on a grave, and you get a feeling like you shouldn’t touch it, then don’t. Spirits will always let you know what they want to keep. Obey that or it’s theft.

💀Always give thanks for hospitality before you leave.

Being polite and thanking your hosts is always a must in general and can bring good energies between you and the dead. Especially if you intend on going back to work at that Cemetery.

• 💀 • Necromancy • 💀 •

Another common staple amongst death workers and arguably one of the most misunderstood practices. Simply put, this practice is divination with the dead. It’s all about connecting to and asking the dead for answers from the beyond. Lots of that used to be done in the cemetery and as a result many wild and fantastic rumors about zombie creation were formed, but that’s far from the truth. There were indeed many radical understandings within the practices history however, but as science matured so did the knowledge on what this practice actually was.

While necromancy is still done in cemeteries even today, it’s not a must. Calling fourth a spirit can be done a number of ways and will definitely alter and change based on the witch. Some working maybe more cultural than others, and some may be more complex. The uniqueness of these practices can number well into the double digits and is always interesting to learn. Some of the most common spirit summoning techniques (aside from going directly to someone’s grave) are the spirit board, a mirror, and the pendulum. As for how these spirits are called, that too can differ from witch to witch. Most often though, it can involve candles or crystals as an energy source, a personal item or favored item like food, and/or the spirits name. It can be as simple as physically calling out to the abyss, beckoning the spirit forward or as elaborate a ritual as calling in the four directional guardians or a guide to lead them to you.

Regardless of how it’s done, it’s always a good rule of thumb to be respectful to them. Don’t demand from them, ask instead, and offer gratitude and an offering when you end the session.

• 💀 • Deity & Spirit Guides • 💀 •

Lots of death workers may worship deity just like any other practitioner. However the deity they are generally more drawn to are often either associated with the underworld, or a psychopomp, like Osiris, Hades, Anubis, or Hecate. However they may also be a deity tied in some way to the personification of death, much like Thanatos, or the grim reaper.

Even if the witch chooses not to utilize deity they can still conjure up spiritual guides of some sort. These guides can be something as common as ancestral spirits or even animal spirits. Most common animal guides often have some death association and symbolism to them. So animals like Black cats, bats, vultures, owls, crows and ravens are quite popular.

• 💀 • Bones & Body Parts • 💀 •

Its not uncommon to see bones on the altars of death witches. Many beliefs around these tools and what they represent circulate within the community. For some specific animal bones it’s believed you can use that animal spirit and energy. Other beliefs revolve not around the animal itself but rather the type of bone, as each one has its own unique symbolism attached to it, such as a jaw being connected to communication. The possibilities are near limitless and for most death practitioners they are a very necessary tool within the craft. Some practitioners even collect additional things like insect exoskeletons, animal skins, and preserved body parts like a rabbits foot.
