They cut down my favourite tree, the tree of my childhood. Lichen grew on its trunk and squirrels climbed its branches. And they ask girls why we’re angry, so full of rage, dormant volcanoes. The tree was my childhood and its branches my god, the tree was my childhood and its roots my tether, its leaves my dreams. The tree was my childhood and they cut it down. They ask me why I’m angry and I ask them to regrow my tree, give me back my girlhood.

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
open the book, start reading.
you don’t understand. yet you MUST figure this out to pass the exam.
it’s painful to think about it.
EMBRACE THE PAIN.
feel the uncomfortableness and run towards it.
you have what it takes, stop doubting yourself.
being on tumblr is just cozy... you know what i mean? instagram and twitter is all flashy and loud but tumblr is as cozy as my bedroom with scented candles on a cold November night

You should never feel embarrassed about asking questions in classes. There are no wrong questions, and your professors are supposed to be patient enough to answer them. It doesn’t matter if you’re shy, go ahead and make your question. You can also email your professors or you could use their office hours to ask them. Besides, your questions can also help other people from the class who might have the same doubts.

sad to still see so many people talk about how gross signs of aging are and people aging “poorly”. those are signs of a life that has continued to live and it is a blessing. age is coming for you too btw

Famous authors while naming characters
Jane Austen: “I am going to create a character who is an avant-garde of elegance and is such a pleasant, lovely creature that even the heroine looks up to her and (in a high-pitched, lilting voice) I am going to name her Jane.”
On the other hand, Fyodor Dostoevsky: “ I am going to create the most wretched, ugliest, womanizing buffoon that is a horrible father and is, without a doubt, most rotten man of the rogues and (in a rather deep, husky, lilting tone) I am going to name him Fyodor.”
you’re going to love again, find a job again, create art again, do what you love again, feel powerful again. you’re going to be back on track. i don’t know when, but you are going to feel like yourself again, eventually. this isn’t the end. hang in there.
