It’s okay if you can’t drive at the age you’re expected to by society. It’s not that simple for many of us, whether it be financial constraints, anxiety, or ability. Just because it’s normalized doesn’t mean it’s right.
mid-2000′s sitcoms have misled me to believe that not having my life together in my early twenties would be a fun quirky romantic adventure but unfortunately I am actually just living at home in smalltown nowhere doing nothing seeing no one during a pandemic with no end in sight✨
Bodies aren’t meant to stay the same. We are supposed to grow and change. We shouldn’t be making people in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, etc feel like they need to strive for the bodies they had in their teens and 20’s. Or making people feel like they “need to get their bodies back” after they have had children. These mindsets aren’t healthy and change is inevitable.
next time you stand in a public place think about the fact that everyone around you have sobbed until they felt they would break at least once in their life, every single one has been nervous, scared. they’ve all felt small once, insecure too. they’ve all felt so alone they thought their chest would cave in on itself, wishing someone would see them and hug them. they’ve laughed until their stomach cramped too, they’ve all seen or felt a sunset, they’ve all loved something or someone, they all want to be loved too. everyone else is a lot more human than we tend to give them credit for
