Hi aphrodite im absolutely loving your blog <3

Im sorry if this is repetitive but how to actually get into a state? I get what the feeling and wish fulfilled means but how should I accept it? Is it by persisting in my aff? I think I'm missing something here.

you change your state with acceptance. i made a post here about acceptance.

what i do is in meditation, i ask myself "what would i LOVE to be?" but i ask as the inner self, not as the outer self. so i answer that question honestly and then i claim(assume) "I AM___" or "I have___". i just accept it in my imagination. i don't do vain repetitions, i feel myself to be it as a present fact. you're not accepting anything in the 3d. leave the 3d alone. the 3d doesn't exist to me when i meditate, it's just me in the world of imagination where I'm god. you accept it in imagination, not in the 3d. accepting in imagination is easy when you see that your desire already exists in imagination and it's WAITING and BEGGING for your acceptance. so basically you BE it in imagination/consciousness.

you can persist in your affirmations if that's what you want, but affirmations do not manifest your states do. and you, the inner self, are the collector of states. persist in accepting/experiencing/feeling your desire as a present fact in imagination.

The only reason one would struggle with satisfying a desire in the mind is because you're trying to DO something or CHANGE something. All you're actually doing is giving yourself something you want in IMAGINATION. You can imagine anything you want in there. Has there ever been a time where you imagined telling someone off in your imagination? Did it feel good to you to do so? It's the same principle...just applying it to something you want. When you really feel like you've imagined something without actually trying to CHANGE something then you will feel satisfied

It's understanding that you have the power right NOW to give yourself anything you want, in your mind. When you do that you realize that is the real you...when you fall in love with that state so much you can't help but want to reside there more and more and you meld with that and then you naturally start thinking FROM that state rather than thinking OF it like Neville talks about. Honestly, you don't even have to accept it. Test it in your mind. Give yourself what you want in your mind and feel the feeling of relief and joy of having it now. You can't help but accept that you received it (in your imagination) because you already felt it. It comes down to the fact that you aren't identifying with the inner man. You're identifying with the mirror image.....

there is nothing to get because I AM

how can i get when i already am? how can i get WHAT i already am?

if i say i'm with sp then i'm with sp. if i say my hair is pink and down to feet then it's pink and down to my feet. if i say the sky is raining glitter THEN THE SKY IS RAINING GLITTER.

why would i stress about getting when i already have it? why would i do technique after technique when i already have it? why would i stress about the how or the when.. when i ALREADY have it?

all that needs to be done is acceptance and persistence in that acceptance. persist in acceptance so that your desired state feels normal, don't persist "to get" or "to create."

everything you want is already yours and the reflection is instant and promised. it is impossible for the 3d to fail at showing you your assumptions.

things I need to remind myself

1. completely and fully disregard the materialization process because thinking about it makes me think i’m doing something wrong because i can’t (see)) my shit even tho ik im not because of the //feelings// i have when i re enter my states

2. forget about desire entirely except to experience it

3. remember the outer man has no free will so he cannot desire anything therefore worrying about his experience (the materialization) is stupid.

4. remember quite literally everythingggggg is happening within. everything. everything. i can be in a bad circumstance externally but fulfilled internally because fulfillment comes from within

5. the outer man does not have his own dialogue so anytime i think about wanting to physically see my desire that the inner man acting as the outer man and leaving the state of the WF. i must simply shift his focus back.

6. continuously experience and forget about the concept of outer results and materialization

7. stop allowing myself to feel like i need to do more to “see” it or like i’m doing anything wrong. i’m doing everything right.

How?

I’ve gotten so many questions like this.

How do I fulfill my desire?

Trust me, whatever you’re thinking is overcomplicating it. I truly believe that everything I had learned before a month ago had been overcomplicating the law.

However, to understand this, I first need to answer the other question I’ve frequently gotten: how can I identify with my inner man?

Once again, I’m going to tell you that you’re overcomplicating it.

What do you feel when you close your eyes and forget the world around you? It’s a feeling, right? There’s no body, no physical sensations inside there, but somehow you feel that you’re still here, you’re still you, despite not having the outer physical characteristics of you. That little voice inside your head is your inner man. Your inner man is not separate from you. You don’t need a ritual or time or anything complicated to reach him, because he’s always with you. (Please note that despite using he/him pronouns I am using it in the general sense and I do not mean that everyone has a little MAN inside them, it’s the inner you, the inner self—which is the self that you must change in order to manifest all your desires.)

Self is simply what you do and have in your inner world

So, how do you identify with your inner self? You simply allow what you do, have, and experience internally to have more weight than the outer world. I can already hear you asking me once again, how do I do that? But the answer is so simple. Practice.

You have to practice believing that the outer world is a reflection of your inner world. And how do you do this? You test the law. Think about it, you imagine worst case scenarios all the time. You imagine arguments, you expect to fail, and you constantly keep yourself in a loop of negativity and pessimism. So, flip that. Just catch yourself when you’re immediately going to the worst and just do the opposite. But don’t do it to make something happen, because then you’re focused on the outer world and the outer man. All your fears show you what the inner man truly desires. If you’re fearing being unsafe, then your inner man desires safety. If you’re fearing rejection, then your inner man desires to be wanted. Use those feelings to recognize what your inner man desires and then give it to them.

How do you give it to them? Well, now we’re back to the main topic: you fulfill those desires internally.

The only thing you need to do to manifest anything you want is to change self. Once again, self is what you have, do, and experience internally. Not in the outer world. You can’t change your face by applying makeup to a mirror. You must reach the source, the self. The inner man.

You want more money? Imagine that your bank is full. See the numbers rising and feel that it’s truly happening. Remember that you do not need to visualize to get to the feeling of the wish fulfilled. You can hear your friends telling you how much you’ve changed. You can imagine how your new car feels under your touch. You don’t need to see in your mind to feel. Repeat that and persist but only to fulfill the inner man. Continue persisting until your inner self is satisfied. Your goal is not to make anything happen in the outer world. You should not care at all about what’s happening in the outer world. Why? Because that’s not your job. Your job is to change self. And remember, the law is that self must be reflected upon the outer world. When you change self, truly believing and feeling that you have what you have desired, then it must be reflected. You don’t have to be consistently thinking and worried about the outer world changing because that is not your job. Change self and it will all be taken care of for you.

That is truly all it takes to manifest all your desires. Never worry if it’ll happen, when it’ll happen, or if it’s possible. If you can imagine it, then it already exists. And if it already exists, since it is you that is experiencing your desire, then you can reach it. Every version of yourself is yours for the taking, no permission or “worthiness” needed. Stop asking if you can or should do something. If you desire it, fulfill it.

“true acceptance… i always thought true acceptance was believing i had it instantly in the 3D and the 4D…”

while reading edwards art “though false” post and his pdf for his series (you can find on reddit) it made me realize what true acceptance is really is when it comes to the law.

True Acceptance

true acceptance doesn’t mean trying to force yourself into believing that its there in both the 3D and 4D. true acceptance is accepting you have it in the 4D and its okay to not have it in the 3D.

true acceptance is believing that the 3D will change to mirror what you have within because the inner world is the only reality, the only thing that reflects. true acceptance is knowing the outer man can’t manifest. the outer man cant “change the 3D”. it cant make things happen instantly.. it’s accepting your outer man can only experience your creations and the human experience. true acceptance is knowing your inner world is your only priority to change and everything will come from what you are, have and experiencing within.

it made me realize that all i really had to do is just accept i have it within without worrying about whenever i have it or not and not and forcing myself to have it within for a change in the 3D.

i always freaked out about the 3D and would always force myself to change it by forcing emotions, forcing methods, forcing feeling, forcing literally ANYTHING because i had really bad circumstances. but that wasnt what i was supposed to do. i was supposed to accept i have it within. surrender to my 4D and just know i have it within. i didnt need to time “when i will get it” or time “when it would come”. everything will come to pass. i didnt need to do xyz, i didnt need to listen to “instant result” subs. i didnt need to do any of it.

“Sure, you can try to control the how and the timing but do you want that responsibility? If you truly don't have to know that, wouldn't that bring you ease?” -ed art

i personally feel like i feel more at ease that know i have it right now in the 4D than having it “instantly”, you could manifest instant results in the 3D but manifestation is more about being within. i feel like the instant results thing makes people put a lot of pressure, expectations and fears on the outer man and the outer world thinking their priority and goal is to manifest for results in the 3D instead of just feeling fulfilled within and knowing you already have it.

whenever i would “try” to manifest instant results, i would always put an extra responsibility on the 3D. i would always try manifesting to change the 3D instead of just being it within. whenever i saw people saying they manifested overnight it always made me jealous in a way. but putting the responsibility of the 3D off my shoulders really put my mind at ease. it really did.

its just how the world works in the law terms. the 3D can only reflect you. if you try to manifest instant results, it kinda just shows you arent it, you dont have it within and you simply aren’t being it in consciousness. (IMO) everything is instant within. you already have it within.

just relax and know you already have it within.

i promise it would better you mentally. you dont have to force to change the 3D out of fear. leave it alone. literally leave it. the 3D doesnt need your fixing, your timing, your fears. it dont need any of that.. it just reflects who you are within. just make it your home within. make it your dwelling place where you just know you have it..ROE. (regardless of everything.)

i always wondered how am i supposed to balance being the sole creator of imagination, how am i supposed to balance being physical with the creation, how i am supposed to see “the outer-world”, how to the see the inner world and how am i supposed to see the law in a better perspective. and this is what this post is about!!

being the creator of my imagination and the 3D can be both confusing at the same time. like how i am supposed to create and not expect for it to show up??

the answer is you dont. you dont expect. you dont wait. you dont want… you ether have it or you dont. the 3D is supposed to be left alone and i want this to be DEEPLY ingrained in your mind.

the 3d is supposed to be left alone. the 3D shouldn’t be your concern, priority or something you scale to see if you “have it or not”. you are supposed to look within. not without. you’re supposed to identify as the inner man in its inner world who haves what he wants in there. youre not supposed to “make something happen”, you’re supposed to be it in consciousness.

read that for as many times as you want and truly accept this. your only focus should be giving yourself what you want within and your trust should be in your imagination, leave the outer man alone. hes just supposed to experience life as a human and live the creations you made within. there inside your imagination lies your power of creation and inner man (you.), this inner man fools himself to be two separate being, the outer man and the inner man. so when he sees something in the eyes of the outer man, he “believes” he wants it in “the outer world”. he “believes” he exists “outside”. but desire is within. feeling is within. the only way is to fulfill is within. the inner man is within. so why would the inner man want it physically? because this is the manifestation of the inner man fooling himself to be the outer man.

to add on: youre not outside of the 3D. you are BOTH the 3D and the 4D. the 3D exists within your consciousness. your mind isnt in your body, but your body is in your mind. you believe what you are seeing is “outside” of you, but its all within. having what you want in imagination should be your priority and getting results in the 3D is just a bonus.

the outer man only sees restrictions, barriers and limits, while the inner man is free to have, be and experience ANYTHING HE WANTS. so when the inner man fools himself to be the outer man, he believes he also “have” to force a change within to “change” the outer world or vice versa. (the inner man believes he “haves” to forcefully “change” the outer world to feel fulfilled within.)

i want you to truly let go of the outer man and the outer world, not letting go will lead to nothing but frustration and fear.. this also includes your physical body. let the outer man be human. the inner man is that feeling of you when there’s darkness when you close your eyes, the little voice in your head, your awareness, your consciousness, your imagination, your inner world. that little guy holds ALL of the power within and can create ANYTHING INSTANTLY because he is unlimited!

everything can be changed in the world of imagination.. you should only be focused on what you are, what you have and what you experience in imagination. you should only “manifest” in imagination. you may not have it in the 3D but that doesnt matter! as long you have it within there should be no worrying if you have it or not. because you would know that you have it and the 3D can only reflect imagination.

who you are, what you have and what you experience in imagination should only be relevant and your priority!

when we mean you have it/assume you have it, we only mean your imagination. you have it in imagination. getting physical results would never satisfy you than getting imaginal results.

ex. you have a problem with someone but you believe everyone is shitty, so now you will occur shitty people because you believe that within. if you believe everyone isnt, then, you wont see shitty people. but if not seeing shitty people is what the inner man doesnt want within then the inner man wouldn’t feel fulfilled or have any type of emotions except for desire on what it actually wants which is… shitty. people. sure, getting physical results may sound fulfilling but you only want the feeling that comes with it. without it. it will just be nothing.

edit 1: i would also like to clarify that the outer and inner man is just you. 😭😭 so theres no separate being outside of you. its all within. just identify as the inner man and fulfill within

tdlr: don’t expect for results, dont wait for them, dont want them. you ether dont have it or you dont. leave the 3D and the outer man alone. shift your awareness to being the inner man and fulfill within (by having what you want within). dont fool yourself to be the person who is the outer man. dont fool yourself to be the person who isnt the inner man in the world of imagination. the outer man can only be frustrated and want when it comes to the law because the outer man cant manifest, hes only there to be human. the outer man cant access the powers of the law. the 3D can ONLY reflect your consciousness so start being in consciousness. physical results can never fulfill you… only internal results will.

please note when im using he/him pronouns im only talking about the inner man and the outer man. not you literally…

my key thoughts when manifesting (this post will have some editing sometimes, this is to help others btw!!):

my goal should be to become who i desire in my inner world which also means to leave all identifications of the old state alone

my inner world reflects naturally to my 3D, i need to stop trying to control the 3d but myself

everything is done already all i have to do is shift my consciousness

i have my desires already!

the past is just the past (the past is simply just me identifying with a version of myself that experienced that, theres another version of myself that already haves my desires! lemme identify with it!)

all of this is simply a reflection of myself! the 3d is nothing but me! therefore the 3d is me!

my goal with persisting is to make this my natural dwelling state/dominant state

all of my answers is within me! i dont need to go outside (this applies to my manifestations and my loa knowledge!)

signs dont matter to me because i already have what i want within, it already worked out for me

the 3d doesnt need any controlling, the 3d REFLECTS.

i can let go of my desires because its already done

why fight with my fears if all of it is created by me?? i can simply let it die with no attention and go towards what i want.

i should focus on making my inner world/imagination exactly how i want it because imagination prevails and the 3d is simply my imagination!!

focus on changing I AM in imagination (not to control the 3d but to change I AM to whatever i like. the 3d reflects I AM)

your only goal is to change yourself!!!

change who i think and i am and what i think i have in the inner world, since it is in imagination i have nothing to worry about. the 3d isnt my job

im not trying to make something happen, it already happened

everything happens at its appointed hour, lets not force it. my subconscious is going to do its job on letting it happen in the 3d! MY FOCUS SHOULD IS TO BECOME!!

just do what i did

THE 3D DOESNT MATTER!! ACCEPT IT ALL AND GIVE IT ALL IN IMAGINATION!! MY GOAL SHOULD BE TO NO LONGER DESIRE, BECOME AND JUST WALK KNOWING IT HAPPENED

There are just a few things I want to say right now because a lot has changed and I want to express that to you guys!

I find that a lot of the advice given on tumblr, twitter, instagram, youtube, etc. is all very 3D-based. That makes sense, but they’re sorely missing out on the internal aspect that is involved in using the law of assumption.

What we are assuming is not a belief, well yes a lot of the time it is, but it’s also assuming a different state of being. We go inwards and access the version of ourselves that already has what we desire at that moment (through imagination) and we assume that version to be us at that very moment.

I took a lot of time during my break to relearn what I knew about the law, just so that I can come back to it with fresh eyes and a new perspective, and I learned this by reading Edward Art’s main series on Reddit. I decided that I would take his word on it and attempt to use this method, to go inward and fulfill every desire in imagination, without ever worrying or even caring about the external world. I’m never concerned about when, how, or if it would ever manifest in the physical, because I am fulfilled within.

Using this method, I got everything. Everything. I got all the desires I had pending on my (long) list, and more. You wouldn’t believe some of the things I’ve managed to bring about in my external reality, simply by fulfilling myself within (fulfilling the inner man, my true self) and living in that state.

I’m just telling you guys that all you need to do to manifest anything (and I say this from personal experience) is to change self, fulfill the inner man in imagination, and live in that state of fulfillment.

The 3D is not your enemy; don’t hate nor fear the 3D. You simply dismiss it because the 3D does not validate anything, it ain’t your boss, YOU are.

All you need to do is fulfill your inner state, inner man, inner world. Worrying, fearing, hating the world is not fulfilling your inner self. Changing anything on the outside is not fulfilling your inner self. Impatiently trying to see results is not fulfilling your inner self.

You can’t expect to constantly move your mirror in different angles and magically see something different. You can’t expect to break your mirror and see something different. You have to change YOU— YOURSELF. That’s what the inner man is. Your inner man is you. If your inner man already has what you want (imagining/embodying the state/affirming/ etc.) then that’s all that matters. You may not see it, and that’s okay. You don’t have to see it. You don’t even have to feel anything! Rest assured that your inner man is already experiencing what you want to experience. That’s all that matters.

Don’t stress; the 3D will eventually follow. For now, what’s more important is fulfilling your inner world.

But do not forget that you are human with feelings and emotions. It’s okay if you are impatient. It’s okay to cry. Don’t beat yourself up. You aren’t gonna stay like that forever, pick yourself up. This would not affect your state. Your thoughts will not interfere with your state. It will not affect your manifestations. I repeat, letting yourself feel will not affect nor delay your manifestations. You are safe, it’s going to be okay. This is only temporary. You are doing your best.

i kind of feel invincible rn. i can get whatever i want with literally no effort and the 3d will reflect easily because the 3d is just a reflection of me. i think greatly of myself and ik i have millions and ik i have my dream life and ik im the most beautiful girl out there and that everything works out for me <3 because i can trust myself, i can trust the law to always reflect

i think I was over complicating loa, there is nothing to do except know. like literally nothing to do. you don’t need to worry if your knowing right or if ur believing right or whatever u just know and then u keep coming back to this state of knowing everything is yours it’s promised to you, you have it right now go look in your imagination for confirmation. it’s simply I am

you are doing everything right

you aren’t doing anything wrong because you’re the creator, you decide what’s wrong and right

so let yourself have your desires and do not reason, let yourself live your life with this knowing that everything is yours no matter what state and reap the rewards.

it is your god given right to have all your desires.

ur only reality is the 4d, for me it clicked when I replaced the word reality with life. like my only life is my imagination so the life in 3d does not matter (it has no affect). and also 3d and 4d are the same thing so because they are equal and u can only change the 4d then that means that everything u imagine in your 4d will automatically transfer. i hope that makes sense? but the main thing here to understand is that imagination is the only reality and it is the true reality. So all you need to do now is worry about your imagination cause your 3d does not matter in the grand scheme of things it’s literally only reflecting. It’s your 4d that’s controlling the 3d and who’s controlling the 4d? you

so literally live in imagination and make urself happy instead of dwelling in the 3d obviously u still have things to do in the 3d that you can’t ignore but u need to handle the 3d with indifference and this is where states come to play where u dwell in the state of knowing ur 4d. what I like to do is whenever I feel any anxiety about something I just fulfill myself like literally anything and everything I fulfill myself I don’t think about logic and I am not looking or even thinking about it showing up in the 3d i am just fully allowing myself to feel and fulfill. This post is more of a reminder to myself tbh because I always go on loa tumblr to find the “secret” and a step by step way to get all my desires but really it’s just fulfilling yourself. like don’t reason and just fulfill urself to ur hearts content and that’s all you need.

in summary my step by step way of doing loa

1. don’t reason- imagination is the only reality

2. fulfill ur desire

3. repeat steps 1-2 whenever u want

3: He who will not live by love must be subdued by fear

You can remove ALL your fears if you do what you want in your mind.

the goal is to NOT change each and every fearful thought. It is not to argue and contemplate on the fear.

NEVER BLAME YOURSELF FOR FEARFUL THOUGHTS. Never blame, only resolve them within. You have the power to resolve to what you want. Don't waste that power on blaming yourself.

you are ALWAYS GREATER than what you are creating in your mind.

We are NOT trying to manipulate reality or force some change upon this physical world. That will happen NATURALLY. Why? Because your world is REFLECTING SELF.

CHANGE SELF BY DOING AND HAVING WHAT YOU WANT IN YOUR MIND.

4: Inner self must be exalted

It comes down to who you think you are. Who you are identifying yourself with. In order to feel completely free, you must identify yourself with the one within you.

When Neville says "Leave the world just as it is and change self. No one to change but self," he means the self that is within, the only self there is. Why leave the world alone? Because it is only an expression of "SELF!" Why does he say to change that and that alone? Because "SELF MUST BE EXPRESSED," that is the Law. You don't have to doubt "is my imaginal act going to come to pass?" Who is doubting? "SELF!" Who is worrying? "SELF!" What gets expressed? "SELF!" YOU CAN ALWAYS TRUST THAT SELF WILL BE EXPRESSED!

5: Imagining is FUN

Thoughts come FROM your FEELING.

thought HAS NO POWER OF ITS OWN. That means the thought HAS NO TRUTH IN ITSELF.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY IF YOU ARE HAVING THE "RIGHT" THOUGHTS OR IF YOU SAYING THE "RIGHT" THINGS IN YOUR MIND. NO MORE TRYING TO THINK PERFECTLY.

These are rules we create in the Mind. Why do we do it? We do for the simple reason that we are trying to control the world. With our physical actions we are trying to control it.

Start with the feeling that, "I can have and feel whatever I want in my mind."

we should do everything we want in our minds with no fear. Doing what we want, which is so simple, frees us.

The moment I have any desire in me, I fulfill it. I don't care what it is, how "big" or "small"! I DO NOT CONDITION IT OR WONDER IF IS POSSIBLE ANYMORE OR "GOING TO WORK".

If you really see your mind as the reality, and you fulfill your desires within, you will see how stupid it all is.

8: Feeling & SELF

Studying [the law] is one thing, actually accepting it another.

EVERYTHING is an assumption. All those thoughts you are thinking are assumptions, and THE MIND DOES NOT CARE WHAT YOU THINK.

how does one feel? The word is ACCEPTANCE. ACCEPT (your desire) ANYWAYS, ENTIRELY ACCEPT IT IN THE MIND!

Create this wonderful habit of accepting every wonderful desire that comes to you. Then you will become normal.

I thought we were suppose to manipulate and control the world. I thought we were suppose to imagine a scene and repeat over and over until it happened. I was wrong. "NO ONE OR NOTHING TO CHANGE BUT SELF!"

when you are panicking about so-so or what might happen or this or that, remember ONLY CHANGE SELF! There is nothing else to change, or nobody else you must change!

9: If I Am then I will Be

"Nothing to change but SELF", "Feeling is the secret." Well, if there is nothing to change but self, how is feeling the secret? In order to change self, it changes through FEELING. This is so important because so many times, I have and others repeated countless affirmations to see little if any results. We repeat it 1000 times, hope it "sticks in the subconscious." Then we hear about feeling so we force feeling into it, and it changes us for a bit but then it becomes exhausting. It becomes exhausting because we feel that we HAVE TO feel this specific feeling or else.

There is no HAVE TO, but WANT TO. FEEL what you WANT to Feel. You discover what you want to feel by asking SELF inside. FEEL that. It does not matter what it is, just something you have always wanted to feel. This is what changes us.

Forcing affirmations, forcing feelings is not what you want. If you just changed the intention to feeling it because you want to feel it, because you want to fulfill all your desires within yourself with feeling, then you would be far happier.

SELF cannot fail at expressing. And SELF is ALL that you FEEL to BE and HAVE in your MIND! Allow yourself the freedom of FEELING what you want with no worry.

So SELF or yourself cannot fail you. You always express what you FEEL to be and FEEL to have. There is NO OTHER CREATOR IN YOUR MIND. None. You are doing it ALL in your mind. You give or you take. There is no other God in the Mind but you.

We are what we feel to be and have in Imagination and this dream world shapes to US.

10: Fearful Of Magnificence?

We should go beyond just granting wishes and start seeing ourselves highly in our minds.

You learn to stop fearing the wonderful feelings by seeing it is YOU who is holding yourself back.

Once you break through your own fear of wonderful feelings, you will see it was you all along. All fear are mental imaginings that you are creating within yourself. Knowing, you bring the power of CREATION BACK TO YOURSELF.

11: Self Identification

How can I BE what I want?

It lies in your IDENTIFICATION OF SELF. Do not be afraid but IDENTIFY yourself FULLY with the INNER MAN. The immortal you. The one that can do ANYTHING it wants. The one who owns the world and all that is in it. If you identify yourself with the inner man, you will be free.

The outer man see's nothing but limitations. He lives in desire. Too many of us have identified ourselves with what the outer-man HAS and IS, not seeing it is a reflection of the INNER MAN.

See what you HAVE and what you claiming yourself to BE WITHIN. THAT is what is reflected always.

You do not have to persuade others to help you [!!!]; all you need do is believe you are what you want to be and then let the world (which is nothing more than yourself pushed out) go to work to make your assumption possible. - Neville

How can you "believe you are what you want to be" when you the world is showing you otherwise? Again it comes down to "SELF" IDENTIFICATION. Conceptions of ourselves are what WE FEEL OURSELVES, OUR INNER MAN TO BE. The Inner Man has all the freedom to see and feel what it wants to be.

To the Inner Man EVERYTHING ALREADY IS TRUE, not to the outer. IT ALREADY IS SO, to the Inner Man. There is no convincing necessary, no 1,000 affirmations, no repeating over and over hoping it works, IF YOU IDENTIFY YOURSELF WITH THE INNER MAN.

You did not imagine "How" to get there, you are already there in imagination. Your issue is NOT in imagining the end, your issue lies in who you are identifying yourself with. If you imagine yourself in the end, which is easy, but then you identify yourself with the outer-man, you will breed nothing but frustrations.

12: Personal Reality

stop thinking about the outer-world. You get rid of this 3D reality. You then FEEL that your inner world is YOUR reality. Your own PERSONAL reality, where you can do, have, and be what you want.

We are not trying to "make something happen" or "hope it manifests," rid yourself of these feelings. They will do nothing but block the wonderful feelings and experiences you want to have within. This is your own personal reality.

Once you create this personal reality where everything seems to go lovely, you will see that there is no one to blame for what you were previously imagining. Taking all responsibility for what happens WITHIN us, we can then use that power to change what we want WITHIN us.

13: No Permission Needed

Remember the outer-world is a reflection of what the INNER MAN has, is and does in their own Personal Inner Reality. That is you.

if we wish to have radical change, let's radically change the INNER MAN. Give the INNER MAN what they want. That is, radically change your own Personal Inner Reality.

"DARE to assume" DARE to FEEL (accept) what you want. Without doing that, you remain as you are.

THE INNER MAN NEEDS NO PERMISSION! THE INNER MAN DOES NOT CARE WHETHER OR NOT IT IS POSSIBLE! So in your Personal Reality, your Mind, understand you need no permission to FEEL what you want to feel. No permission whether not it is "possible". Identify yourself with the INNER MAN who is FREE to do, feel and be what they want!

Your Personal Inner Reality is not bound by the facts of this life. In the Reality Within, you can go back in memory and change what you want. It is YOURS to change!

14: The God Of The World Of Imagination!

There is this world, the World of the Senses, and there is another world, the World of Imagination. There is a Man who experiences the World of the Senses, which we call the Outer-Man. Then there is another Man who experiences the World of Imagination. We call that Man the INNER MAN.

The Outer-Man sees the limitations and restrictions in the World of the Senses. The Outer-Man feels he is limited and confined to the ‘facts’ of life. The Outer-Man goes through life fully convinced that this World of the Senses is happening to him not from him. He uses only his five senses to move in this World. So naturally he feels like a victim and desires to control this world through the means of force, manipulation etc. The Outer-Man feels fear that life can throw at him things that he is not prepared for. Situations he does not want to encounter but since he feels powerless, he fears the future. Since he cannot change the past, he guilt himself over it. This is how he is limited.

Then there is the Inner-Man who lives in the World of Imagination. In this World, he is unlimited and can create what he wishes. He is free beyond measure and everything that he can be conceive of is his. Everything. Not one thing is not his because he is the Creator of it!

THERE IS NO OBJECTIVE OUTER-MAN. The Outer-Man is simply an expression of the Inner Man. The only Man that exists is the Inner Man. There is NO OBJECTIVE WORLD OF THE SENSES. The World of the Senses, is but the expression of the World of Imagination.

The Inner Man can convince himself that he is this Outer-Body living in this dangerous world but he is still the Inner Man fooling himself into that!

PART 15: Awakening

What the Inner Man FEELS himself to BE and FEELS himself to HAVE in the World of Imagination is what will be EXPRESSED in this World of the Senses.

you are an INNER individual living in the World Of Imagination. In this World, you are God. You can imagine anything. All things are possible here in this world, INCLUDING the FULFILLMENT of your desire. You can change SELF to what you want. And SELF is what you THINK you HAVE and what you THINK you ARE in this World of Imagination. Read that sentence again. And SELF, THAT SELF, is what is EXPRESSED.

As you read this, you are living in this 3D world. You own things within it, you HAVE things. Based on what you HAVE in this 3D world, you create identities for yourself. Remember, we CLAIM we ARE things BASED on what we THINK WE "HAVE."

stop identifying yourself with this 3D world, which is simply an expression of INNER SELF, if you stop identifying yourself with what this 3D person "HAS," and start identifying yourself with the INNER MAN, you will see the freedom.

in this 3D world, we give ourselves identities based on what we THINK (FEEL) we HAVE. So if we can identify ourselves with the INNER MAN, and in that world we HAVE the things we want, we can then give ourselves a new identity.

stop thinking you are "only imagining" this. I want you to stop thinking what you are seeing in your mind is "fake." I want you to stop reacting to what you do not want to react to you. I want you to stop FEELING limited by this World of the Senses. I want you to stop worrying about HOW or WHEN it is going to happen and instead FEEL secure KNOWING this 3D world reflects what your INNER SELF HAS AND IS WITHIN. I want you to FEEL you are limitless within because you are! You do not have to bow down to this world and accept what you THINK it says about you. I want you to FEEL yourself to be the creator of everything within you.

Can you accept that you HAVE what you want because you see yourself (INNER SELF) with it, and everything in this World of Imagination is yours and is real?

PART 16: "What Else?"

How I enter into a New State of Consciousness? Death. Death is the only way. How does one die to a State of Consciousness? By surrendering to the New State. You cannot enter into a New State taking with you all the limitations, questions, and worries of the Old State. The Inner Self must be exalted but it cannot be exalted by holding 2 contradictory States.

When you imagine having exactly what you want in your mind, you do not question anything, you do not worry, you do not wonder "what if," you do not entertain the Old State and its limitations for one second. You die to it entirely.

You cannot bring your current limitations, worries, questions and FEELINGS with you to your New State.

The States or Concepts you hold in the Imagination are nothing but things you "hold." That is it. You think because the concept you are holding is reflecting in your world somehow makes it more "real?" I assure you it is not. It does not really matter if it is being reflected.

PART 17: Dream The Dream

remove the outer-world and remove the idea of "trying to manifest" and simply have the attitude of changing your INNER WORLD to your liking. Here is nothing to do, nothing to force on the outside. You change it, you mold it, you feel it and you do it all within you. You create a new dream, a perfect dream within you.

To "try to manifest," is a feeling. "Trying to get, trying to resolve, trying to make something happen," are FEELINGS you take with you before you imagine. These feelings are what disrupt you from actually FEELING what you want to feel. Instead FEEL that you are solely going to re-imagine, or re-dream a new dream WITHIN YOU and you will change you FEELING how you feel within. These changes is what expresses itself in the world. So if you wish to change the outer-world, leave it alone. Leave it alone and go within and change THAT WORLD, the world WITHIN. Change who you are THERE, change what you have THERE, change how you are treated THERE. Dream up a new World Within!

PART 18: Expansion

what you are seeing in your mind is not fake. And not only is it NOT fake, you can shape it PRECISELY how you want to shape it.

In order to actually lose yourself in the imaginal act, one must accept it is real and let go entirely of the outer-world. One must suspend rational thinking, and just accept it is real.

In order to access this feeling you must not be afraid to assume it is Real. If you are not FEELING it then that means you are still bound by your senses and this outer-world. You need to allow yourself the Freedom to Expand BEYOND the rational mind that is keeping you from experiencing your Wish being granted. You cannot be afraid anymore to feel and imagine what you want.

PART 19: Boldness

Your Mind is your own Personal Reality and you have the power to shape it PRECISELY, and FEEL what you want in it!

PART 20: Receptivity

Now we come to Denying. That is to say that we must truly let go of what the Outer World is showing us. True Denial is not looking at your World and merely repeating, "It does not exist," but is actually ACCEPTING the new reality within you. You do not deny being unwanted, by stating your are not unwanted. You deny unwantedness with the ACCEPTANCE of being wanted. It is our ACCEPTANCE of our Imagination which is our DENIAL of the senses. So Denying is not something you do, it is the implication of your ACCEPTANCE of the Imaginal Scene.

To stress yourself on whether you are "denying" the evidence of your senses enough is an unnecessary stressor. You do not fight against your senses for they only reflect you. Because "True Denial" as Neville says is "total indifference." But to be totally indifferent about your senses, you must ACCEPT your Imagination as the Reality. To become "indifferent" is an emerging consequence of accepting Imagination as the One and Only Reality.

You cannot wait for the world to change to what you want. You must change what you are and have in Imagination. If you are tired of what your world is reflecting, you can be confident it will keep reflecting that until you change YOU inside your Consciousness. This calls for radically giving yourself what you desire IN Consciousness.

PART 21: Irrationality 

Chances are you truly are NOT giving yourself what you want because you feel some impossibly in it. Forget that. All things are possible in the Imagination. Do it anyway. Just do it. Do what? What you deeply want. Do you for only you, you Inner Self.

PART 22: The Dreamer

Never seeing he is the Creator, the Cause he always fails. The idea that he does not have to do anything, he does not have to work his way out - this idea is lunacy to the Outer-Man. He thinks, "No, there must be a way that I just have not figured out yet." So he goes on seeking outside of himself, yet he himself is a desiring self, and only seeing his reflection, he only see's his desires. Never obtaining them, always seeking them, frustrations, rage, jealousy all stir up within him. Hating his world, hating what he see's, hating his own reflection he wants to destroy it. He cannot win because he lives in a position of fear and failure, and what is within will be without because Man can only give what is within himself.

If only he were to stop hating his reflection, and saw that the mirror only reflects what he is doing, he would be free. If only he were to see the mirror is stationary and does not judge but simply reflects. If only he were to see himself in the mirror and see he is the Creator, he would be free.

He does not have to cope with his limitations, he does not have to fight his way out. He will stop feeling after his fears and become indifferent about them for they are his Creation and has no power over him.

The Dreamer abandons limitations and turns towards his desires and gives it to himself fully. The Dreamer will always dream beyond what his limitations dictate.

PART 23: Unconditional Thinking

To truly grasp the freedom that is attainable within you, you must understand the concept of States. A State is a belief about the yourself or what you believe you will experience, an attitude towards life. There are infinite statues (states) that lie dormant within you. They do not disappear, for nothing can disappear in Imagination. The acceptance that you are the State now, is what brings life to these dormant statues.

If entering into a New State within you is challenging it is because you have not accepted who you are within. You are not a State, but is God. As God within, whose permission are you asking for? To whom do you answer to? If there is only One Being within you, then who can stop you?

If you wish to rise as something New in Imagination, you have to give up entirely your currently thoughts/feelings, questions, worries, what you think of the world, what you think is possible, if you think you are worthy or not, if you deserve the New State etc.

"Don't tell me anything!" That is the secret. Total self-abandonment to the current State is the way to bring life towards the New State.

You have to die to what you do not want to express entirely, a true act of surrender. You can do it.

leave the world alone and go within and die to what you want to stop expressing and allow yourself to be what you want. Imagination is the evidence you are seeking for it is the only reality.

Assume all works in your favor to express your States. This is how the Imagination works. Everything within you is yourself for the taking. Think unconditionally.

Hi, I don't really know what to do anymore. I've come to a point where I'm just tired of this whole thing. For the past month now I've been persisting in the state of the wish fulfilled and making it natural. And I've already reached that point even to the fact that yesterday till today I've been spiralling so hard about my desires and have gotten very depressed. I feel so tired physically and mentally, but even so I still have the assumption that all is done and that my desire is a promise that will reflect into the 3d.

But I don't know why this state hasn't reflected itself into the 3d. I know it's not something we should worry about, but I can't help but pay attention to it when I'm literally living it. Like yes i can tell myself that it's ok that all this is happening because it's going to change soon. But when it's been a month and I'm still dealing with these situations despite knowing that I already have what I want in imagination, it just makes me wonder why my subconscious mind isn't reflecting it yet.

I don't know what else to do because I feel I've done everything on my part. I have the assumption that once I embody a state my subconscious mind will reflect it immediately and that doesn't to be happening. And even then I just didn't care because I have my desire and regardless my subconscious mind will reflect it. But it's been a month now and I don't know what's going on.

I can't seem to give up because I know that regardless I am going to end up with my desire. I just want it to happen now.

okay, i've been really busy and i was going to take a break from tumblr but this ask sounds desperate and reminds me of the old me so I'm going to answer this and take a break. I'll get to other asks when I have some time.

first of all, thank you for trusting me enough to send me this

second, please take care of your mental health. I've also been there where I was so consumed and obsessed with the law to the point where I was mentally and physically exhausted. i know it sounds too cliche but please drink enough water, eat good meals, spend time with people who love and care for you if you have any, meditate to calm your mind, go out for walks, shower, move your body, etc. you get the point.

third, this is really important so i need you to pay attention to this. you say you're in a state of the wish fulfilled. but are you really? i do not say this discredit and invalidate you. i need you to take a step back, detach from your thoughts and feelings and take an honest and critical observation of your state of being. are you really in a state of consciousness of being it or are you still trying and waiting and hoping?

your state dictates your reaction. your state dictates your reaction to your 3d circumstances, thoughts, and environment. IF YOU'RE STILL HAVING THE SAME REACTION TO YOUR 3D CIRCUMSTANCES, THEN YOU HAVE NOT CHANGED, PERIOD.

if you're still looking at your 3d circumstances and think "ugh I hate this I need this to change. i did everything right why has it not changed?", I'm sorry to break it to you, but you have not changed within.

when you're in a state of consciousness of being/having it, your feeling(not emotion) changes and you no longer react to your 3d the same way not because you're forcing yourself to be that way but because it doesn't bother you anymore.

please please re-read your last sentence.

"i just want it to happen now"

WHAT ARE YOU DOING WANTING NOT BEING IT ALREADY???????

seriously. what are you doing desiring not giving it to yourself?

the first step is to stop desiring. NOT by suppressing your desire, but by giving it to yourself to the fullest in imagination/consciousness ONLY. read these quotes by neville carefully and compare what neville says and what you sent me here.

“you cannot persist in wanting what you already have. if you assume you are what you desire to be to the point of ecstasy, you no longer want it”

“so i no longer want to be it, i am it!”

"you cannot continue desiring what has been realized"

“i cannot have and still continue to desire what i have. i may enjoy it, but i cannot continue wanting it”

your reaction to the 3d and old thoughts is a good indicator to see whether or not you have changed within but another good indicator is to see whether you're desiring or feeling fulfilled.

if you felt fulfilled because you already have it, you wouldn't have said what you sent me, would you? you're lacking. you're desiring. please leave the 3d entirely alone because you're not lacking anything in the 3d. you're lacking in consciousness. that's why you want results in the 3d. you want results in the 3d so they can fulfill and satisfy the lack you're having in consciousness/imagination.

you're lacking within so you want something on the outside to fulfill that lack within. it doesn't work that way. you fulfill within first and then it happens on the outside. as within, so without. you always push your self out. life is a simulation of SELF. stop seeking validation from the 3d and seek validation from your SELF.

when you desire something, it's not your physical body desiring in the 3d. your body is simply a garment you're wearing to have human experience here. it's you, the inner self, the invisible you, the real you, that is who's in desire in imagination/consciousness. first, accept you have it so that you no longer desire it in consciousness. until you change your consciousness/imagination, your life remains the same. that's the law.

i can tell you've never read edward art's series. i will forever preach his series until the end of time until the day I die. here is the link. please invest some time and read it. don't just skim through it. understand that desire is within and must be fulfilled within. show true unconditional love to yourself by giving your inner SELF all in imagination/consciousness then 1) you will stop desiring. then 2) your reaction to the 3d will change. then 3) it will happen in the 3d.

go drink a glass of cold water and read my response over and over again until you understand it. please be kind to yourself and fulfill all your desires in imagination/consciousness only!! then you will feel fulfilled and happy. happiness is simply a by-product of fulfilling your desire in imagination only. don't forget to read his series I linked!!❤️

To long

Longing is a concept people in this community are very familiar with.

It eats away and tires you out it breeds doubt and fear, fear of delusion, fear of failure, fear of rejection, even if it's it coming from ourselves.

You entered this community, and you were told what to do, what to think, and how to act. You were told that as God, you could make your own decisions, and you made the decision of not being that God, not until you've consumed enough info, not until all your desires show up in the 3d.

Like me, you went into imagination whenever you're hungry and leave starved. When this happened, i would spiral. It felt like I would see the food in front of me, but im unable to eatit. There was always a barrier between me and my desires. I'm sure this is how u feel, too.

I learned that I spiral only when I push myself to do something when I do something I'm not meant to do. Like changing things in the 3d or worrying about time.

Seeing a lot of loa blogs when I entered this community, I looked back at the info I consumed and realized what was making me spiral. People would talk about keeping track of your thoughts, making sure you feel it right, and make sure you persist. But all that teaches us is how to beat yourself down even more. That's because you're not meant to micromanage your life. You're not meant to make sure everything is perfect and you're not meant to make your desires happen.

One day, I gave up and told myself I couldn't manifest, and it ended up being one of the greatest things I did. Because it made me realize that manifesting has absolutely nothing to do with the 3D, I cannot make things show up here as it is not my job.

The only thing you and I can do is accept and imagine. Accept your imagination as true because it is, it's where u lie, and it's who you are, that is all you can be.

You're not a desperate person dreaming of a better future. You're not a sad human making things come out of thin air by thinking about them, you're literal imagination, and once you accept that you'll feel free to imagine and feel what you wish. That's literally all manifesting is.

You can only fully feel in your imagination. You can only experience there, and you can only be imagination.

I told myself that I, as I am, can do nothing. I can't fly here in the 3d, but I can in imagination, I can't wake up in a different place in the 3d, but I can in imagination. This what loa bloggers mean when they say you can manifest absolutely anything.

When we say assume, we mean k the inner world, and that's all you need because that's all there is. Reality can only live through you. It can only thrive through your attention, your gaze, and approval. That is your power.

Whatever you do, do not make the 3d your enemy. You'll be turning yourself against yourself, and that will make you spiral. Pay attention to the deepest, most vulnerable parts of yourself. They lie in your imagination to the outer, and they are absolutely beautiful.

Loa is about taking care of those parts about learning that forcing and pushing will only result in you being forced and pushed, that focusing on the wrong will make life itself focus on the wrong, because it is only a reflection, it is you.

Perfecting loa is not about how fast you can manifest and how good your self-concept is. It's about revealing who you are. Beyond religious scriptures and materialistic objects. Have a day where you have fun in your 4D, get to k ow yourself and who you are in there, I assure you, you won't care for the 3d, not when you realize it can't bring you the joy you can bring yourself.

The only way for your state to change is to admit your current one and realize it can only live through you, give yourself that power, and shamless permission to move on. Let intrusive and doubtful thoughts pass, the only way for them to stop bothering you is to not identify with them.

You want to manifest a new house in the blink of an eye? You did now, you want a brand new self? You did just now. They all showed up in your imagination because that's your only responsibility and power, yourself.

This is why a relationship with yourself is the base of loa, when I accepted I can only work in the 4d, my self concept sky rocketed.

Did I spiral after that? Yes, it's only natural when you live your life differently for a long time and you're learning somthing new.

But I still managed to come back up to a good self concept because all the loa lessons you read all come to one thing, there is nothing to change but self because there is nothing in this reality but self.

After you learn this, if there's one thing in this whole law rather is impossible in your mind, it's to long.

Man's biggest misconception is believing that manifestation is physical, that it's your job to make sure those manifestations show up.

If they don't, you're told to persist, think about it more, affirm robotically, try harder, and as a result, you end up walking in a trap of repeating and failing that many of us were victim of.

Then you tell yourself you're probably imaging it wrong, you're not affirming enough or maybe you're just not enough for your desires.

But this is NOT what loa is, not what Nevielle was teaching and not what Edward art is explaining.

When we say assume that you have your desire, we're talking about the 4d. It's only in your inner world where you can make things happen.

The law isn't about changing uour surroundings, it's about changing you because that's all there is.

I mentioned in my previous post that when I admitted to myself that I can't manifest, I felt this freedom within me, that's because I stopped forcing myself and stopped trying to find a way to make things happen.

Many of us keep the 3d alive because we're looking for an answer, but what you need to realize is thag you can't, you as the outer man, can't make a brand new face, you can't fly and you can't make things show up out of thin air.

But in your imagination you can do all of these things can't you? You can change your face, you can fly as high as you want, you can manifest in 5 sec, you can go to sleep jn New York and wake up in Paris.

That is the inner man, that is who you are, and that means you've been manifesting successfully this entire time.

The problem is not how vivildy you imagine, how much emotion you put into it, how much you affirm, it's what you pay attention to and feel to be the truth.

When people say they get results in 5sec, they do in the inner world, assumption can only live in the inner world, that's the only responsibility.

With me saying that you can't do something in this community, you'd believe it's a lie because loa bloggers always tell you there's nothing you can't do.

But you need to accept that yhe outer man is powerless, you as the outer man can do nothing, unlike the inner man.

By doing this, you let go of the 3D because the the outer man stops looking, don't tire him and leave him be.

All you can do is accept or let go.

When you wear something you don't like and you want to change, do you change your clothes to change your reflection or do you change it to change yourself?

Start with gentle reminders throughout your day that you're free to imagine what you wish, that there is no one else but you and that what you seek is never the actual object of your desires, but the feeling of it's truthfulness, it's reality.

Many of you have terrible 3D circumstances. This does not mean you ignore your 3D but you do not react to it. Just like Edward art said, you must learn how to go on about your daily life as an observer not a reactor.

Let me ask you this, you can imagine what you want and live as you want jn your mind, and sometimes you get negative or intrusive thoughts right? And what do you normally do when you have a thought like that? You notice it and let it go the next sec right? You've observed it but you didn't occupy it, you just thought of it as a stupid thought.

Why is your 3D different from that? It's not. You notice bad things in your reality all the time, but that does not mean that you occupy ot right?

Prioritize your 4D over the 3D. It takes time when you've lived your life being taught the opposite all the time, but it can surely happen.

This way, even if you spiral, you can get back up easily because you've learned that since your reality, beating yourself up when you're down is exactly what life will show back to you.

I remember reading a certain post from @aphroditeapprenticee that I related to a lot. They said that they thought once they mastered loa they would feel like the baddest bitch in the universe but now they ende dup feeling at peace, calm and in control.

I definitely feel the same way. I thought I'd feel powerful and like no one could touch me. I tried to force that on myself, but obviously, it didn't work. Instead, through the right understanding of loa, I ended up feeling right. I don't know how to explain it, but there was this sense of euphoria in the back of my mind like everything now was alright. I felt a sense of security and treated myself with a kind of gentleness I never received before.

That is because I gave myself permission and stopped a strict mental diet of checking every thought, affirming mindlesslly like a parrot ( as nevielle would put it) and blaming myself for the 3d.

Now reading about loa does not feel like work, I get excited to read loa posts from certain bloggers that helped me understand Neville's teachings.

So, to recap this post:

your only power and responsibility you have and can have is you. There is nothing you need to change or can change, but the conception of yourself. You can only accept or deny, only feel or observe.

The way you leave the 3d alone is by leaving the outer man alone. Let him be, and don't make him go around looking for something he is too limited to see.

If you're spiraling because of it, you're either using the 3D self go look or you're using imagination to change your circumstances.

Loa isn't just a tool you use and leave once you get what you want. It's a journey that requires the death of your limited self, your previous beliefs, and the bravery to face yourself.

Learning Vocabulary:

What vocabulary should I be learning?

There are hundreds of thousands of words in every language, and the large majority of them won’t be immediately relevant to you when you’re starting out.Typically, the most frequent 3000 words make up 90% of the language that a native speaker uses on any given day. Instead try to learn the most useful words in a language, and then expand outwards from there according to your needs and interests.

Choose the words you want/need to learn.

Relate them to what you already know.

Review them until they’ve reached your long-term memory.

Record them so learning is never lost.

Use them in meaningful human conversation and communication.

How should I record the vocabulary?

Learners need to see and/or hear a new word of phrase 6 to 17 times before they really know a piece of vocabulary.

Keep a careful record of new vocabulary.

Record the vocabulary in a way that is helpful to you and will ensure that you will practice the vocabulary, e.g. flashcards.

Vocabulary should be organised so that words are easier to find, e.g. alphabetically or according to topic.

Ideally when noting vocabulary you should write down not only the meaning, but the grammatical class, and example in a sentence, and where needed information about structure.

How should I practice using the vocabulary?

Look, Say, Cover, Write and Check - Use this method for learning and remembering vocabulary. This method is really good for learning spellings.

Make flashcards. Write the vocabulary on the front with the definition and examples on the back.

Draw mind maps or make visual representations of the new vocabulary groups.

Stick labels or post it notes on corresponding objects, e.g when learning kitchen vocabulary you could label items in your house.

How often should I be practising vocabulary?

A valuable technique is ‘the principle of expanding rehearsal’. This means reviewing vocabulary shortly after first learning them then at increasingly longer intervals.

Ideally, words should be reviewed:

5-10 minutes later

24 hours later

One week later

1-2 months later

6 months later

Knowing a vocabulary item well enough to use it productively means knowing:

Its written and spoken forms (spelling and pronunciation).

Its grammatical category and other grammatical information

Related words and word families, e.g. adjective, adverb, verb, noun.

Common collocations (Words that often come before or after it).

Receptive Skills: Listening and Reading

Reading is probably one of the most effective ways of building vocabulary knowledge.

Listening is also important because it occupies a big chunk of the time we spend communicating.

Tips for reading in a foreign language:

Start basic and small.  Children’s books are great practice for beginners. Don’t try to dive into a novel or newspaper too early, since it can be discouraging and time consuming if you have to look up every other word.

Read things you’ve already read in your native language. The fact that you at least know the gist of the story will help you to pick up context clues, learn new vocabulary and grammatical constructions.

Read books with their accompanying audio books. Reading a book while listening to the accompanying audio will improve your “ear training”. It will also help you to learn the pronunciation of words.

Tips for listening in a foreign language:

Watch films in your target language.

Read a book while also listening along to the audio book version.

Listen to the radio in your target language.

Watch videos online in your target language.

Activities to do to show that you’ve understood what you’ve been listening to:

Try drawing a picture of what was said.

Ask yourself some questions about it and try to answer them.

Provide a summary of what was said.

Suggest what might come next in the “story.”

Translate what was said into another language.

“Talk back” to the speaker to engage in imaginary conversation.

Productive Skills: Speaking and Writing

Tips for speaking in a foreign language:

If you can, try to speak the language every day either out loud to yourself or chat to another native speaker whether it is a colleague, a friend, a tutor or a language exchange partner. 

Write a list of topics and think about what you could say about each one. First you could write out your thoughts and then read them out loud. Look up the words you don’t know. You could also come up with questions at the end to ask someone else.

A really good way to improve your own speaking is to listen to how native speakers talk and imitate their accent, their rhythm of speech and tone of voice. Watch how their lips move and pay attention to the stressed sounds. You could watch interviews on YouTube or online news websites and pause every so often to copy what you have just heard. You could even sing along to songs sung in the target language.

Walk around the house and describe what you say. Say what you like or dislike about the room or the furniture or the decor. Talk about what you want to change.This gets you to practise every day vocabulary.

Tips for writing in a foreign language:

Practice writing in your target language. Keep it simple to start with. Beginner vocabulary and grammar concepts are generally very descriptive and concrete.

Practice writing by hand. Here are some things you can write out by hand:

Diary entries

Shopping lists

Reminders

What could I write about?

Write about your day, an interesting event, how you’re feeling, or what you’re thinking.

Make up a conversation between two people. 

Write a letter to a friend, yourself, or a celebrity. You don’t need to send it; just writing it will be helpful.

Translate a text you’ve written in your native language into your foreign language.

Write a review or a book you’ve recently read or a film you’ve recently watched.

Write Facebook statuses, Tweets or Tumblr posts (whether you post them or not will be up to you).

Write a short story or poem.

Writing is one of the hardest things to do well as a non-native speaker of a language, because there’s no room to hide. 

There are lots of ways to improve your writing ability, but they can be essentially boiled down to three key components:

I wonder what he thinks when he looks at me.

Every time you see him, he sees you. Again and again you are stumped by one of life’s greatest obstacles: you can never really know what another person is thinking.

The year is almost over, you thought, and yet I have never spoken to this guy.

In the train station exactly five minutes away from your apartment, you see him every morning, without fail. You board the same ever crowded carriage, endure the thirty minute commute, then disembark at the same stop. Yet, no good morning, no hello, no subtle head nod, not ever. You were unsure if he was even aware of your existence.

At times you swore you could feel his eyes on you, palpably you had thought that he even awaited your appearance. On better days you would even think that he started to take an interest in you.

But when your mind would inevitably clear, you’d realise that no, this isn’t possible. He’s too tall and too fit to be anywhere near your league. He’s Jeon Jungkook, the ever coveted yet doubly mysterious first class university athlete. And you are… well, you.
