[11.35pm]: under the moonlight

akaashi keiji x reader, college au, drabble <3

you rub your eyes tiredly as you step out of your study room. clad in sweats and a hoodie (and your favourite pair of fluffy socks), you pad over to the kitchen only to see your boyfriend there, already pouring a glass of warm water for you.

“taking a break?” Keiji asks. you nod, humming in response.

you walk up to him and he wraps you in a gentle embrace. it feels like the warmth of the sun, a soft loving blanket enveloped around your form, smelling of love and like home. his soft lips place a sweet kiss on the crown of your head as he slowly rocks you two back and forth in the middle of your kitchen.

you’ve been stressed because of exams recently and he’s always been there to help you destress and remind you to take breaks. he’s ready to provide you with food, cuddles, hugs, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on - anything you need, despite his own hectic schedule. you couldn’t be more grateful for a boyfriend like Keiji.

so now in the tiny kitchen of your tiny apartment, you and keiji are in each other’s arms. he’s telling you how proud he is of you for working so hard, but also how proud he is of you regardless. you’re still rocking gently, but now his hands are on your waist and and yours are slung over his shoulders. your foreheads are touching and he occasionally dips his head to plant soft kisses on your honey lips.

the outside world is abuzz with nightlife, a stark contrast to the quietness and serenity in your small apartment. the moonlight peeking through the window sills only enhances your beauty, and keiji is enraptured by you for the nth time that day.

your heartbeats beat in sync, and you’re both swaying to the beat of the music only for the two of you. he twirls you slightly before pulling you back into his chest, resting his head on top of yours. “i love you,” he murmurs.
