i know in my soul the exy editors in aftg universe are making edits of neil josten to nosebleeds by doechii
Was reading the aftg extra content and now I need a fic where dan and Neil met before the foxes
Where Neil and his mother have to go different ways to tricky his father's people and he ends up on Dan's city and meets her
Meets her as Hennessy and when she asks for his name and he did not think of a new name yet he throws the question back and she says she can't tell him here (club rules) and he says the same, so she gives him her name (kinda) and calls him Daniel
Neil comes almost every night to walk her home after her job and they talk
They talk a lot about exy
When waymack come to recruit dan she asks him to keep a eye on the kid, bc he loves this game more than anyone she knows
But when she is going to tell Neil she is leaving and is going to join the foxes he is gone
She thinks a lot about him and recognizes him almost immediately when they meet again
It's not very difficult for Neil to make Neil Josten and Daniel merge into someone who is as far as Nathaniel Wesninski as possível
And his binder would be fuller, with extra photos of the foxes captain, of every single article about her
When they meet again Dan says she was so upset she never got to tell Neil about joining the foxes, but she didn't know Neil followed every step of hers
Did anyone ever write a fic about like, Neil dies there but Kevin never tells the foxes who he was bc he knows it's too late
And now Kevin is the only person that ever got to know both Neil josten and Nathaniel wesninsk, he is the only one who knows how deep Neil's secrets vent and for the rest of his life he will carry it with him ?
I feel like we as a society don't acknowledge often enough that Neil was convinced and waiting on his death for months and no one around him knew until he told Kevin

We joke about him ignoring the countdown texts but he knew exactly what they meant and he was so tired of running fighting and collateral he saw no other options

Many people have said the book series All For The Game by Nora Sakavic is badly written. However, I believe it is not. To prove this, I made a compilation of posts that explain why the books are meticusly crafted and amazingly written.

unfortunately i cannot engage in andreil breakup and make up fics because i do not believe in andreil breaking up
Nora has confirmed that if Ichirou decided to kill Andrew, Neil would scape to Japan, work his way through the rankings of the real yakuza there(the OG Moriyamas, that stayed in Japan and dont keep relations with the USA Moriyamas), and once he got to the top, Neil would start to slowly dismantle the USA Moriyamas' empire brick by brick. Until he ultimately got to kill Ichirou (but only after making him watch his empire crumble and loose everyone around him)
The level of manipulation needed to rise to the top of one the biggest criminal organisations in the world just to get revange against someone like Ichirou is ABSURD
Literally a cold psycho fueled by anger and hatred
We are lucky he is fueled by his love for Andrew, stickball and his team
Neil could really have been a very suave criminal mastermind if he'd chosen to be. I'm rereading the kings men and the whole thing is basically just Neil gently manipulating people to do what he wants them to, and figuring out how to put anyone who won't come around to his way of thinking (Aaron) under pressure so that they just do what he wants. He wouldn't need to be as violent as his father, the guy just knows how to read people and figure out what they want, and what they can't afford to lose. He'd have them eating out of his hand if he wanted to do anything more than play stickball have boyfriend.
Duos that have the same vibe
Somebody must have already pointed this out, but I havent seen it yet, so I will anyways
But, this is literally almost the same dynamic and not only I love it, but I will die on this hill
We have:
- Short red head who is inexperienced at the beggining, constantly tells people that are better then him that he is gonna beat them (and in fact does beat them). Plays mostly on instinct and has a huge amount of potencial and talent
-Taller with black hair who has had problems in his previous team, is known for being rude, kind of bossy and constantly and blatantly tells people their technical faws. Plays with sharp precision and wits, also has a huge amount of talent
-Taller one becomes sort of a mentor figure to our shorty, but at the same time, they both are constantly competing with each other
-Become partners and push each other to the top of their potentials
-Both are completly obsessed with their sports, will practice non stop after practice hours
-Will argue with each other ALL THE TIME(thats basically their default mode), you will know things are serious if they stop talking to each other
Wymack sitting at the funeral of Riko, the dude who was his estranged son’s codependent brother, who treated him as a pet and mentally and physically abused and tortured him for years. The same dude who also physically abused and orchestrated the gang rape of said estranged son’s best friend. Who then blackmailed one of your players, who knew your son from years back, and let Riko beat the shit out of him over Christmas break because he didn’t want his situation-ship to get hurt, who is your estranged brothers codependent bestie and protector - who riko also orchestrated the abuse of anyway. And then your team proceeded to beat him in the championships, where he tried to kill one said player before the other broke his arm and then his brother who runs the Japanese mafia killed him and framed it as a suicide. And now you sitting next to said estranged son, who people blame his death on, watching him grieve this absolute psychopath cause that’s just how much he fucked him up.

I can just imagine the cold running down Andrew's spine as he heard Neil's cell phone ring, but no sign of Neil, just his bag and the phone there on the ground
He knew Neil would never willingly leave his things behind, even with all the chaos, he would never leave his bag there. As the realization Neil was probably taken settled in, Andrew stopped to listen to the lyrics of Neil's ringtone, right as it said
'Runaway train never coming back'
And at that moment Andrew knew his runaway train could really never come back. At this point he could be dead already. The thought almost made his heart stop. Neil was smart, he was a survivor, he could survive, he HAD to survive. Andrew cursed himself for the ringtone he had chosen as a way to spite Neil, but now just felt like another one of life's cruel ironies
'Wrong way on a one-way track'
Andrew tried to remember how to breath as he reminded himself thats how it was always supposed to end, he knew this would happen, it was indeed a one-way track, but...it was so early, so sudden. Why couldn't he have more time?? He thought, not knowing if it was about him, Neil or the both of them
Andrew's chest tightened, as a mist of anger and desperation builded up inside him. He felt like he would burst at any moment. It was like a giant hole had been carved on his chest. After so long feeling nothing, having so many feelings at once made him dizzy.
That was when another realization settled in: it had always been Neil all along. Somehow Andrew was dumb enough to fool himself into thinking he would be able to let go when the time came, that he was in control of the situation and Neil was nothing but a distraction, someone interesting to distract him from the fact his whole life felt like a bore. But it wasnt true anymore and it hadn't been for a long time, maybe it was never really true.
Andrew had indeed gone the wrong way a one way track. He knew how this was gonna end, and still he fell into Neil's gravity and allowed himself to be pushed closer and closer everyday. The phone finally stopped ringing, but the song kept playing on his head like a buzz
He looked around again, hoping to find those clueless stupid blue eyes looking at him, but there was nothing, no one. He felt like if he was falling as he stomach sank. It was right then and there he finally admitted something he already had known for a while: he didn't want to, in fact, he couldnt live without Neil. A world without him was just pure hell. Andrew needed Neil as much as he needed air or water
(This wasnt supposed to be almost a fic, but I got carried away while writing, lol. Forgive me for any mistakes, I typed it on my cellphone and english isnt my first language)
Do you ever think about how Andrew called Neil’s phone after he disappeared, but instead of Neil answering, it’s just ‘Runaway train never coming back’ playing on a loop… or are you normal?
renee walker (the living rainbow) who always has her nails painted a different color because color is such a beautiful thing, especially after you’ve been in the dark for so long
jean moreau, who starts painting his pinky nail whatever new color her nails are on their weekly skype call because it was 𝘩𝘦𝘳 color that pulled him out of the darkness, and the singular colored nail always reminds him of that rainbow he decided to live for
Kevin at this moment: WHAT ARE YOU BOTH THINKING??? WHAT ABOUT YOUR CAREERS???
*proceeds in a half an hour long rant about how not only their Exy skills, but also their public image is important to make Court(and according to him both of their public images are already damaged enough)
*Neil tells him that if they are already damaged, then there is no problem in making it a little worse
*Andrew tells him to stfu
*Kevin shuts up, looking with discontet at the both of them
Kevin hates them (not really)

The last time someone gave Jean trouble (Grayson), he simply wiped the guy out
It would be weird if, after doing this for Jean, he just accepted that Winter and Willians tried to kill Andrew and moved on with his life. And even though I dont think he would order a hit on Lane for attacking him, she stopped him from getting to Andrew, which is also unforgivable
The three of them were found dead literally on the same day and they were the only ones to die after the match took place.
The ERC announced that the Ravens were disqualified still on friday. If they were to kill themselfs over it, they would have done it on friday or saturday, but they did on monday
You can call me crazy, but I think our beloved Wesninski Junior attacked again, because I dont see him just accepting waht they did to Andrew, and he definitely would not waste time with proper legal action
I love Jean's POV because that mtf lies so much to himself that at some point, if you dont pay attention, even you start believing him
In the interview part, Kevin gets super mad because the interviewer suggests the Trojans made a mistake signing Jean, this is the first time ever he breaks his "public persona" and it is clearly because he got mad they were attacking Jean
Meanwhile Jean Moreau is out there thinking "Wonder if Kevin slipped like that because they talked badly of the Trojans or because of the alcohol"🤡
And it is not just with Kevin
EVERY TIME someone does something good to him or defends him, this mtf finds every possible reason for it under the Sun, except admitting this person cares and want him well
Jeremy is worried about him? Must be because Jeremy doesnt want him to be an obstacle to the team
Rhemann asks if he is okay? Must be because he is a terrible a player and is disappointing Rhemann on the Court
His other teammates want to spend time with him on the bus? Cant find the reason, but there nust be something
It is absolutely not his fault, and it in fact breaks my heart everytime

the thing about neil and jean is that i very much feel like their relationship is mirrored in andrew & aaron's relationship. the 'misplaced forever partner' vs. 'the brother who was given away.'
the way neil was abused but he was KEPT, he had a mother who gave her life to fight for him vs. jean who was sold and forgotten and abandoned, stripped of his own name and his language, who had to survive riko and the master and the complicated dynamics of being perfect court but also property, who had to navigate the nest and all its horrors and hierarchy completely alone.
aaron who was abused, who was beaten and strung along and neglected, but who his mother came back for vs. andrew who was left behind, who never had a last name, who said 'please' so much at seven he can't stand the sound of the word at 21, who was willing to carve pieces from himself for the promise of a scrap of family.
andrew and aaron made a deal and hated each other for it. jean and neil were each others partners - your failure is my failure, your success is my success. andrew, who killed aaron's mother when he found out she was beating him, to hold up his end of the deal. jean, who held neil down to be carved, but who patched him up again after.
aaron, who killed his brother's rapist. and neil who did the same
