I don’t think you really get a real sense of what Anya is like as her own person. STAY WITH ME PLEASE THIS IS NOT AN ANYA HATE POST I LOVE HER!!

It’s just that she’s under so much emotional stress due to being around her abuser and also being pregnant that we never get to see who Anya is. She’s always on edge and nervous (for 100 percent good reason !!) Plus being through the perspective of Jimmy mainly doesn’t help us seen who she really is.

We don’t see her as a capable and competent nurse because of the way Jimmy frames her, the way he talks about her when in his perspective and the way he treats her. I didn’t really think about how capable a nurse she was because it’s hard to keep somebody in Curly’s conditions ALIVE with limited resources because it’s never mentioned by Jimmy even once. All he sees are her faults because it allows him to feel better about what he did to her, allows him to just see her as not really a human who has prospects and a good future in nursing ahead of her.

Jimmy just wants to take everything from her that could’ve made her human in his eyes so he can feel better about what he did, so he doesn’t feel guilt and doesn’t feel the need to take responsibility. He acknowledges Curly being a ‘hero’ and a good person and (not sure if this an actual quote from the game or if I’m just stupid) that he can’t be half the man Curly was and that’s only because he believes that’s something he can ‘fix’ by putting him in the cryochamber.

ANYWAY main point is that Jimmy is unreliable narrator and attempts to take away Anya’s achievements by not acknowledging them so he can view her simply as an object which lets him feel better about what he did.

My thoughts on

The Midnight Club (2022)

I just finished watching The Midnight Club last night and couldn't help feel how it was like a beautiful work of art left unfinished. When I started the show, I was really impressed by the way the foundation was laid but several things were left unexplained but we'll get there later.

First off, let's talk about the true essence of the show; the stories. While I absolutely loved the way the characters expressed their unconscious/concious desires through the stories knowing that they wouldn't come true, that the future they paint will continue to remain trapped behind words, I couldn't help but feel that we could've been introduced to this world in a better way.

By the time we learn about Natsuki's story regarding the Japanese myth, it's already progressed into a "frenzy of jump scares" which completely ruined the atmosphere for me and I found myself wanting it to be over as soon as possible.

The next thing I wish to address is Ilonka's character. She is a complex teen who is unable to accept the terminal nature of her life and that she cannot be saved. Initially, I liked her drive to survive but as the episodes carry on, we see her completely lose herself in the desperate attempt to grasp what's left of her life. Her character itself had multiple flaws which were further enhanced by the fact that so many things about her were left unexplained.

Why was Ilonka having visions?

Was it because of her medication? Maybe. But it could also, be due to her being most open to the spiritual aspect of the place. She openly sought to achieve wellness through the nature and was engrossed by the past which might've manifested in the form of visions. Maybe her sharing these thoughts with Kevin was the reason for his own visions.

Another aspect of the show I really wanted to see were the stories coming together in the end (as we had in the haunting series) but was really underwhelmed. There were too many plot holes which raised a lot of questions.

Who is Dr. Georgina Stanton?

In the final episode, her ties to the Paragon are hinted at. I personally found myself drawing ties between her and Regina Ballard (Aceso). Regina, upon performing the ritual had lost her hair which kinda made me think if Stanton had also tried to do the same for her son (resulting in the loss of her hair, being the only survivor).

Who are the old ghosts?

This really got me scratching my head finding answers. Maybe they're yet again manifestations of the negative emotions arising in the kids but I'm not sure. Also, how is Kevin connected to the old woman and why does Ilonka keep seeing her where Kevin is?

All these are left unanswered which really irks the viewers to know more.

(I have not read the books and all my interpretations are solely based on the show)

I want to analyze her character for science. I want to dive in so much about how her character/perception is pushed down in the game due to who's perspective we're watching. Gosh.

Headcanons

• Soft, caring, can and will meticulously pick apart your life in a way that either makes you feel like you need to go to a therapist or curl on the floor and cry 👍. Not always malicious. She's just a really good observer.

• Has a resting look that makes her look sad or quiet and what not but she just has those big ol sad eyes.

• She remembers everything she reads (I don't recall if Eidetic/Photographic is the correct term, but something like that). She reads manuals and contracts and every small type of information so that she can always referr back to it.

• Her great memory also adds to her and Daisuke's friendship. With her being patient enough to listen to his miles long rambles, he can explain a lot of modern/"younger generation" stuff so that she slowly but surely can actually understand what he's talking about. He usually talks about games, things he sees on the internet and more political topics when the conversations fall into it. Daisuke has gone into in depth discussions about gender identity & sexuality to the point where Anya has heavily questioned her own identity (had she had the time to live with it more, she would've started using They/She Pronouns. For the sake of my babbles I won't do that here but. But). She's debated a lot about how she feels about her orientation.

• I believe she's had many passing thoughts about using the gun on Jimmy or Curly or herself (given that she had the code smh). Upsettingly intrusive thoughts about what she could do, but nothing she's ever gone through with.

• She hit her head hard during the crash. Possibly concussion level hard. It made it harder to get Curly stable but she managed as much as she could.

• id like to think Daisuke helped her open up more. Him being really good at reading people and very insistent on chatting/being friends with her until she finally gave in. She feels comfortable being more casual with him. He's not an older peer or her boss so she doesn't worry having to "prove herself" with him. They can just be friends casually shooting the breeze and all.

• Daisuke also convinces Anya that Swansea is more of a softie then he let's on. Before Daisuke joined, Anya was polite with Swansea and knew he wasn't as rough as he let on, but she was still distant and didn't see him as someone who cared much for his co-workers. Daisuke insisted and would go on his rambles about times he caught Swansea being soft or caring in his own way, just not wanting to show it cos he's a stubborn old bustard. Anya started to see that eventually, and started to feel she could let her guard down more with Swansea and trusted him more.

E ai como vocês estão? Espero que bem, eu passei por cada perrengue nesse período da faculdade que eu não conseguia nem parar e sentar no notebook sem literalmente bater a cabeça no teclado e cair de exaustão. Foi estágio, provas, relatórios, literalmente um caos que me fez ficar acho que uns 2 meses sem editar 

mas agora que o período tá acabando, cá estou eu voltando a editar porque estou conseguinte entregar tudo e passar em todas as matérias (além disso fui editar pra me distrair da nota que a professora não posta DE JEITO NENHUM) e bom, aqui estamos com a capa.

Confesso que no inicio eu tinha a menor ideia do que fazer, quanto mais eu editava mais eu tava achando que tudo tava saindo errado, mas fui naquela de “confia no resultado, só faz -qq” e cá está a capa, SÉRIO EU AMEI O RESULTADO DEMAIS! especialmente que as cartas e o dinheiro parecem que estão mais a frente do que o resto da capa, dando um efeito meio que 3D na capa (quem diria, Mafu produzindo 3D nas edições hehe ~)

Daisuke

He's a soft, fluffy cuddler.

He usually let's you sit on his lap, smiling and trying to tickle you occasionally, which results in the whole crew rushing to your room after you scream at him to stop

Sometumes you'll sit on his lap at the table. He giggles and wraps his arms around your waist

When he's tired, he heads straight to you and pulls you into his room, forces you to lay down, and slam dunks himself onto your chest

Or when your tired, he whines at you to go to bed

Refusing to go with you? Too bad, he rips you away from whatever room your in and drags you by the collar to your room. For the youngest in the group he sure was strong

If you accept to go with him, he smiles and runs with his hand in yours to whoevers room is closest. Even if it's not the either of yours

Anya

She's kind of scared to touch you

Not that she doesn't want to, she just doesn't know what the correct time to is. But she always smiles when she feels your arms around her

After waking up, she heads to you and pats your head to let you know she's awake. She nuzzles your head against yours when you hug her with a small "good morning". She finds you adorable when you wake up

Sometimes she offers to let you help in the med bay, but you just end up sitting on the counter together with your head on her shoulder

I feel like she would be the careful kind. she would warn you before she moves around or touches you

But when you settled down, she kisses the top of your head and let's you snuggle into her

Curly

Oh my lord don't even start with him

LOVES cuddling. 100% lives for it.

He doesn't care about what tasks or things he has to take care of, he sees you and suddenly everything stops. Before you know it, youre on his lap with his legs around your waist like he was trying to protect you from something

Oh that silly little cake you had to make for a fellow employees birthday? He already pre-made it so he could spend the morning cuddling with you

He hates that his title as captain is the only thing in his way from being with you the whole day, but he makes it work. He even lets you sit in the controo center with him!

He loves PDA, everybody finds it cute but a little overbearing
