Some Grackles! These birds are incredibly common but I still enjoy watching them.

two of the big bear valley bald eagle eggs have hatched so far!

Bug, warning me about... Something. I don't know what, but we had to have a fire drill to calm down (where I make the danger call and we both run to the bathroom to hide for a minute before I declare it's safe and we can calm down again).

Kingfisher and Great Egret lined up just right

this stunning bird is a red-tailed hawk with a genetic mutation called leucism that causes a reduction in pigments.

The Grackles

are also still around, and some are still feeding babies, but molting has also begun, giving some of them the best and most dramatic looks. As if they couldn’t already do that with their plumage fully intact!
