I don't understand. Isn't the character 10? 10 years old can make a lot of mistakes and then learn from them. children imitate other people. A sentence like "no one needs help" doesn't come from a child naturally. I think he heard it from someone else (maybe he was bullied or from some science magazine).... I think. Was looking around the tv tropes page for Journeys and it's kinda sad how biased against Gou it reads. The kid makes a mistake one that the anime clearly sees it as a mistake and something he has to work on but for some he is a monster that abuses his pokemon

I just skimmed it, and…wow.

It’s not as bad as I was expecting, but it definitely has shades of demonizing him for struggling with empathy.

Let me make this clear: HAVING LOW EMPATHY DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE A BAD PERSON.

Empathy is not the same thing as compassion.

Empathy is not the same thing as sympathy.

Empathy is the ability to put yourselves in others’ shoes and understand the viewpoints/emotions.

Mary: I can see her dressing up as something like a ghost bride, or something cute yet scary at the same time. Maybe even a witch one year?

Twyla: Definately something boring like a scientist or librarian or historical figure (Im biased cuz I despise Twyla) Maybe something like steampunk or Frankensteins Monster?

Reginald: I feel like something more formal like a fancy dressed up Skeleton (Im thinking of some art of him ive seen I think) with a top hat and cane and tailcoat or a very formal vampire with that same stuff.

Crowven: VAMPIRE! 100%! Though I could also see him dressing up as like a harpy or a demon or something. But vampire for sure fits him

Vasilis: Maybe a witch? They give witchy vibes. But more like magical witch than spooky witch. Like long flowy pretty stuff.

Ingram: hmmm... I can see him dressing up as a zombie maybe. Possibly a skeleton to match his mouth. Or even a Scarecrow like Ryo tehe! Maybe even a Frankensteins Monster?

This is a.... hard question.

Like obviously IRL it would be toxic. Anything with Yandere type stuff is toxic. But like. They are cute. And he wouldnt hurt Mary atleast. It wouldnt be toxic towards her. Idk how to explain it. But like I ship it. I didnt ship it at first but eventually i kept seeing more and more art from arcadekitten and more and more of them together in games and it grew on me. Sometimes I feel like I shouldnt ship it, but like I cant help it. I would obviously not be okay with it if it were real, but like where its fictional its fine.
