i lied, put your clothes back on, we’re actually going to talk about how brennan and hodgins are best friends and how they’re one of the most underrated pairings in the show despite being buried alive together, and hodgins being brennan’s counterpart in every au the show has done and them knowing each other from the main cast the longest and enjoying little pieces of each other that the others think are odd

the doctor in the photo: famous example of emily deschanel's big sad blue eyes. brennan finds herself relating too much to the victim-- a doctor with few close relationships whose life revolved around her work. hank the security guard (ipso, facto, columbo, oreo!). brennan confesses to booth after he saves her from getting hit by a car, he rejects her and we get the most tragic sentence of "i will adjust".
the boy in the shroud: the romeo and juliet episode! a dead boy is assumed to be a street kid, but turns out to be a wealthy 17 year old who is in love with a girl in foster care. they suspect she killed him, but it turns out to have been her younger brother who was terrified of his sister leaving him. meanwhile, cam and brennan fight the entire episode over views on the kid, only to be resolved when brennan reveals her past with foster care. the end of the cam bad boss arc and where we got "freebie/freebie decline" from.
loving that her security guard hallucination is Booth if he didn't dumb himself down
The writers probably thought it was a funny Easter egg, but playing a song about holes in hearts over a montage of Brennan trying to figure out if the bones were Booth's was very much not funny.
Remember that one time Booth and Brennan drank too much tequila and kissed in the rain?
What if Booth was a lady?
whoa. you know when you haven't stopped crying in 10 minutes, it's a good episode
Can we talk about how insane bones was for showing us that booth had a brain tumor by showing him talking to freaking stewie Griffin

It's been a little while since I've made a poll, so I'm going to shake off the dust with a simpler question (although choosing an answer to this one is probably anything but simple for mystery fans.)
This is mostly oriented towards live action mystery/crime TV series, I'll probably do a later poll for animated shows or anime.

Okay I listened to the first episode while I was working LOL so I didn’t end up live posting it but I will in the future.
Spoilers ahead for Boneheads Podcast Episode 101: Pilot and Dissecting Jack Hodgins (with T.J. Thyne)
Here is my review so far:
I love Emily and Carla’s dynamic they are so funny and chill and it’s neat to hear everything they have to say about filming!!
I thought it was neat to hear them discussing acting things since I have no idea how that industry works it was cool to hear a little about it from them
My favorite thing was Carla not being able to tell that the pilot location was any different the set they worked at?? It was so interesting to me that they must have made the set so exact from the original location to mean that she couldn’t even tell having worked on, I mean as a viewer I never noticed either but it’s interesting they had a location first and then built the set later on.
I thought the boob talk was hilarious and so silly
I really hope that Michaela Conlin comes on as a guest!!! I would love to see John Francis Daley and Tamara Taylor in the future also
I also listened to their discussion with TJ Thyne, he was so sweet and funny and is just a ray of sunshine and the best. I hope he does come back more especially for Aliens in a Spaceship would be amazinggg!!!
Overall 100000/10 exceeded my expectations and I cannot wait for more <333 we are so lucky to be blessed with this podcast!!!! I literally never thought we’d get any more content related to bones ever tbh so this has been such a delight and I will be eating good for months to come

Random things I love about the show Bones:
- all the times they take stuff from the museum to use in the investigation ("I got this from the x exhibit")
- Brennan following some birds, bugs etc and finding a body ("Booth, you might want to see this")
- "Bones, stay behind me!" Brennan immediately wanders off
- the banter between Booth and Caroline Julian
- how well TJ Thyne plays exhausted Hodgins
- how immaculate Cam's outfits are (and how they are ruined by Hodgins and co's experiments)
- the guitar riffs that play every time Angela's dad is on screen
The FBI: wow, this agent and the anthrolopogist consultant we hired, and her team of weirdos at the Jeffersonian, have a truly insane solve rate for murder. I think we can overlook a few breaches in protocol; their expertise makes it worth it in the eyes of the Bureau. We are going to have to hire a full time psychologist for them tho because jesus fuck

Zack avoids eye contact at all cost and will never look anyone in the eye if he can avoid it. It makes him nervous and overstimulated.
Brennan doesn’t know what the correct amount of eye contact is and overcompensates by staring directly into peoples eyes at all times. Except for Zack.
