Your gateway to endless inspiration
I LOVE HOW YOU LOVE THIS đ
Youâve literally been feeding everyone, so why not feed you too instead. Because If you starve and die, we starve too.
I had to contemplate this piece for a while during the rendering process, and simply had to stop and add more. Because I knew youâd analyze the whole thing.
So hereâs stuff that I added that you may or may have not analyzed yet for bonus desert:
Synthâs side of the bed is messy and scattered with the blankets hanging (off camera) off the bed, while Branchâs is kept neat and tidy. As all he wants is to keep a warm and humble space for his husband the moment he comes home from wherever he is.
He knows his bed is as messy as his mind as he shuffles to keep his life balanced on a single thread of his shroud and power. He doesnât want to abstract any form of his husband, wether inanimate or not.
He looks barely his actual age, no gray hairs, no wrinkles, no heavy bags under his eyes. Heâs in a place of love and comfort. All the stress thatâs been built up by the suitors, from running a kingdom, and raising a child alone are long gone.
His family is the only love and trust he can see of, the moment he sees them or is in a presence that they hold.. He feels younger. He feels ALIVE.
They are what keep him alive.
The tree still bears fruit after more than 20 years, after being carved and turned into a bed for a symbol of love. It still bears fruit after everything thatâs happened, the fruit still blossoms and bears the love Branch and Synth have for each other after everything.
Synth is free to do anything in his chambers, heâs free to cry his heart out as seen with the smudged mascara and face paint on his cheeks, his pink eyes donât bear the sight of puffy and tired eyes, his mind wanders over to the light peaking from the trees cover. It calls to him and he reminisces the memories that hold all the hope he needs.
His hands hold onto the crown firmly yet also uneasy, like he wants to chuck it into the corner of his room and hope the ground breaks from the sheer force, where it would then be sucked into the quick glitter, never to be seen as he screams his lungs out at the sheer pain of his position, waiting for doom in this palace he rules.
Yet he also wants to hold it tight, to bring him back to 20 years ago, where Branch was still with him, when they were just a happy family with Keith. To cherish all those little things. Hesitant with his decisions as he holds into the last sentimental gift his Branch had given him all those years ago.
The background is empty, he sees nothing else of value.
I may as well learn to animate for the whole âDonât tell me youâre not the same person.â thing if thatâs how you indirectly tempt me đ
You have built this wedding bed with your blood and sweat.
Carved it into the Flavor Berry Tree where we first met.
A symbol of OUR love everlasting..

God, Epic has ruined my Brynth brain.
Synth as Penelope...
"I'm supposed to choose a suitor to wear the crown I said I would choose as soon as I weave this shroud They don't know That every night I unthread all the work I've done Cause I'd rather lie Than allow them to think they've won Though I never thought that I'd resort to this Just know I'll be here"
and
"Whoever can string my husband's old bow And shoot through twelve axes cleanly Will be the new king, sit down at the throne And rule with me as his queen"
Synth who is stalling the suitors for 20 years for Branch to come home.
Here, have a couple sketches i made over the past few days. Maybe I'll finish them, maybe I won't.
~Boop! (I kinda gave up once I got the Branch lol)
Branch sat by the edge of Techno Lake and kicked his feet around in it.
He looked up at the starry night sky and sighed.
âI miss you,â He whispered quietly.
âSup, Dubstep?â Synth jumped out of the lake like a dolphin.
Branch jumped up in surprise, and laughed a little. Then he looked back down at the ground again.
Synthâs usual smile faded away. He hopped up onto land and sat himself next to Branch.
âWhatâs wrong?â he asked.
Branch looked at him and then looked away, âNothing,â he muttered.
âHey,â Synth turned Branchâs face to him, âI can see somethingâs wrong,â
Branch looked at him, but stayed silent.
âYou can tell me anything, Dubs. Even the serious stuff! I can be serious,â He said as a glowstick fell out of this hair, âUh, I can be serious SOMETIMES,â
Branch chuckled and sighed, âI sorta said it in that little speech,â He looked away from him, âI lost my colors when I was about 3 or 4,â
Synthâs eyes widened, âReally?â
âYeah. I felt responsible for my grandmaâs death. Even though I knew she made the choice herself, she wouldnât have had to make that choice if it hadnât been for me. I was just so sad and angry, that it just kind ofâŚtook over.â
Branch looked up at Synth who had an understanding look in his eyes, though Branch didnât understand why.
âI stayed that way for 20 years. It wasnât until about a year ago that I regained them,â
Synthâs jaw dropped, âWHAT? Thatâs so long!â He wrapped his arms around his tail, âWhen the strings broke and we all lost our colors it was terrible. I felt so⌠empty and broken, âHe looked at Branch with watery eyes, âYou were like that for 20 years?â
Branch nodded sadly and looked down at the ground, "The sadness still comes back sometimes. And today is one of those days," He looked up at the sky, "Today was her birthdayâŚ"
Synth wrapped his arms around Branch, âIâm sorry,â he said pulling away, âI⌠I know what itâs like to lose a family member,â Synth whispered.
Branch looked up surprised, âYou do?â
Synth nodded, âI had a twin sister. Her name was Wave. We partied together. Laughed together. We spent so much time together, that instead of calling us our separate names, people just mashed them together. We became Synthwave,â
âSounds like you two were really close,â
âWe were. Then one day, I was so lost in the beat, I didnât see that glittershark coming, or hear Wave warning me. And she,â Synthâs voice broke. He wiped the tears that were flowing from his eyes, swallowed the lump in his throat and continued, âShe pushed me out of the way,â Synthâs eyes went wide and he shivered, âI can still hear her screamsâŚâ
Branch sat stunned. Another troll, who had lost a loved one almost the same way as him.
He had thought of Synth as this party animal who didnât have a care in the world, when really, he was using his beats and raves to keep his sadness at bay.
Branch grabbed Synthâs face, just as Synth had done with his, and turned it towards him.
âHey, Iâm here for you,â He pulled Synth closer, so close that their noses nearly touched, "I'll always be here for you,"
Then he pressed his lips to Synth's.
Synth's eyes widened in surprise, and Branch broke away from him.
"I-I'm sorry. It was too soon wasn't it?" Branch laid his head in his hands, "Dangit Branch, you ruin everything,"
Synth pulled Branch's head up and gave him a smirk, "Dubs? I've been hoping for that since the flavorberry patch. You had perfect timing," then he pulled Branch into a deeper kiss.
OoOooOOOooo, I hope you enjoyed this! I'm probably going to revisit this 'Lost Twin Sister' thing, it's pretty interesting. (Notice how I said LOST not dead? đ¤) I know Synth's story is basically the same as Branch's, but⌠eh.
They were all looking at him.
Every trolls' gaze was focused on him.
He could see them whispering. Pointing. LOOKING at him.
Branch hated being watched. That's why he made the fear bunker and planted all the cameras around the village. So he'd be the one with the advantage. He'd be the one watching.
And to make things worse, a few of them had that look on their face. That look Branch despised so much.
Pity.
That look they gave him when his grandmother first died.
Pity.
That look they gave him when he told him why he had gone grey all those years ago.
Pity.
That look they gave him when that stupid song that ruined his whole life came on.
He didn't need their pity.
He didn't want their pity.
He wanted to be a normal troll.
And he thought meeting all the new tribes could make that dream a reality, but no. His past ruined that too.
And- wait, did he say all of that out loud?
Branch felt his heart stop.
No, no, nonono. I did NOT just do that.
The look spread from troll to troll.
Branch stepped backwards, desperate to escape all these sad faces and open arms.
I never should have come.
Poppy stepped towards Branch, "I'm so sorry Branch, I-"
"No! Didn't you hear my accidental speech?"
Poppy paused, "Yes, but I-"
"Then why are you doing it still? Why are you treating me like some injured cuddlepup?"
"I just want to make sure you're okay!"
Tears rolled down Branch's face, "I'm FINE,"
He looked over at the delegates and sighed, "I'm sorry Lownote. Holly. Dante. Val. SynthâŚ." His voice cracked on the last name, "I'm sorry you had to see me like this,"
Then he spun around and ran off.
Tears streamed down Poppy's face, "I just wanted to help him,"
Holly walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder, "Maybe you're not the right troll for that,"
Poppy turned to Holly, wrapped her arms around her and sobbed.
Synth stood stunned. He didn't realize how⌠sad Branch was.
I've gotta go after him.
There ya go! Part 3. Still not really done, but this part was SO MUCH BETTER than part 2. You guys good with some Brynth?
