Your gateway to endless inspiration
When rewatching this arc this scene is my favorite before disaster hits
Summary: After returning home from a long campaign, you and your soldiers find it difficult to fall asleep. Echo has a bad dream which starts a chain reaction of clones entering your room looking for a different place to sleep for the night.
Pairing: Jedi!Fem!Reader & 501st
Characters: Rex, Fives, Echo, Jesse, Hardcase, Tup, Kix, Dogma
Tags & Warnings: platonic clone cuddles, snuggles, and kisses, smidge of angst, comfort, fluff
Word Count: 3k
Author’s Note: I came up with this one from a dream I had. All gestures are 100% platonic. The lullaby the reader sings can be found here. Honestly, these boys need all the cuddles, snuggles, and love they can get. As always, please enjoy! 💚
After being away for several rotations on a long campaign with the 501st, you have finally made it back home to Coruscant. You leave your weary troops in the barracks and head towards your chambers to clean up and get some rest. You enjoy your first warm meal in what feels like forever and hop in the shower to wash the grime off your skin. You let the hot water caress your body as you stand underneath its invigorating spray, never wanting to leave the warmth.
You finish your shower, slip on your night clothes, and crawl into your bed. You nestle under the covers and take a deep breath, letting the familiar scents of your room fill your senses. There’s nothing quite like sleeping in one’s own bed. At last, you can get some good sleep. Sleep during campaigns is always a hit or miss and never the top priority, but when you’re here, when you’re home, you can sleep comfortably knowing no one is trying to end your life or the life of your men.
However, tonight you endlessly toss and turn in your bed. You're exhausted, you know it, you can feel it. You want to sleep desperately, but something is keeping you awake. You continue to toss and turn, but slumber seems to escape you. You sigh and stare up at the ceiling in defeat. So much for a good night's rest. After all those long nights on the hard ground with blaster and cannon fire, you wish for nothing more than to sleep.
Unexpectedly, you’re pulled out of your thoughts by a presence entering your room. It’s too dark to see anything, but through the force, you can see exactly who it is. “Echo?” You ask while sitting up against your pillow.
“Ah, sorry to wake you General,” Echo answers while putting an awkward hand on his neck.
“I wasn’t asleep,” You admit with a sigh as you rub your forehead. “Are you having trouble sleeping too?”
“I…” Echo begins to answer, but hesitates, unsure of how to say what he wants to say. “I had a bad dream.”
You cock your head to the side and give him a sympathetic smile, “Dreams are only dreams, Echo. They can’t hurt you.”
“Yeah,” Echo agrees half-heartedly. “I know.”
You sense he has something else to say, but he is too nervous to ask you. “Is there something else you want, Echo?” You ask to try and get him to tell you. “You know you can talk to me about anything.”
Echo opens his mouth to speak, but then closes it. He doesn’t want to step out of bounds with you as his General, but he also doesn’t want to go back to the barracks. Finally, he musters the courage and asks, “Can I sleep here tonight?”
You’re initially taken aback by the request, but your heart softens towards the tired clone. The nightmares that plague him must be horrific if he wants to sleep with his General. You think about it for a moment, but decide that it won’t hurt to let him stay the night with you. You pat the empty portion of the bed to the right of you to show him your approval, “Come here.”
Still a little wary of the idea, Echo meanders his way over to the bed and crawls from the base up to where you are. You stretch out your arm and invite him to rest his head on your chest. He obliges with a little hesitancy and you gently drape your arm over his side and back. You can feel every ounce of tension in his body escape at your touch. He breathes deeply and lets out a relaxed sigh, knowing nothing can hurt him now.
You smile at the clone clinging to you and run your fingers through his hair. As a Jedi, you’re not allowed to have attachments, but there’s nothing in the code that says you can’t show compassion. These clones. They’re children, stuck in adult bodies, fighting a war that they never asked for. They never asked to be created. They never asked to be expendable. They never asked to be slaughtered. The least you can do is to offer them some sort of comfort.
As you settle in with Echo and to try to get some rest, you sense another presence come into your room. Perhaps you should keep your room locked from now on. As the figure enters your dark room, you can see through the force that its Fives. “Looking for Echo?” You ask knowingly.
“Uh, yeah,” Fives answers with a jolt of surprise. “How’d you know?”
“The domino twins will always be inseparable,” You chuckle softly. “Where one goes, the other usually follows.”
“I didn’t think we were that predictable,” Fives rolls his eyes.
“Let’s just say that it doesn’t take a force wielder to know your thoughts,” You explain with a smile. “Would you like to join your brother?”
“I can’t sleep well without him nearby,” Fives admits as he crawls over the base of the bed and scooches next to Echo.
“Better?” You ask while looking over at him.
“Much better,” Fives answers as he nuzzles into the blankets.
You look down at both the clones now sleeping in your bed and you smile. You never thought something like this would occur, but here you are. It’s not that you don’t want them here, but you do feel a weird sense of maternal instinct as they lay there in your presence. Clearly they feel safe with you, but you’re not sure why. Other than being their General, leading them into battle, force healing their wounds, and giving them pep-talks, you’re not sure why they are attached to you.
Your thoughts are once again interrupted by a figure entering your room. You let out a slightly exasperated sigh when you realize it is yet another clone tip-toeing his way into your bedroom. “Looking for something, Jesse?” You ask the sneaking clone.
Caught by surprise, Jesse stumbles back into the wall. “Uh, well, you see,” He begins to explain in earnest. “Echo and Fives aren’t in their bunks, and they’re usually up to no good when they’re together, so I went looking for them.”
“Well, you found them,” You point out in a hushed tone. “They’re right here, sleeping with me.”
Jesse pauses as he thinks about the situation before him. “Can…” He begins to ask. “Can I sleep here too?”
“I don’t see why not,” You answer. Your bed is definitely big enough, but you’re still not sure why all these clones want to sleep in your room. They have the barracks and bunks of their own, and they sleep with all their brothers. It is odd to you, but nevertheless, you let him climb into bed with you, Echo, and Fives. He crawls over the end of the bed and situates himself on the left side of the bed, across from the others. Close, but not close enough to touch you. You smile at his reservation.
As you begin to nod off, you’re pulled awake by yet another disturbance in your room. You wonder if you’re ever going to get any sleep at this rate. You look up at the figure standing across from the bed and with a sigh you ask them what they want, “What do you need Hardcase?”
“Oh, you knew it was me, huh?” Hardcase asks with a little embarrassment.
“You have a very distinct pattern in the force,” You answer with a small yawn.
“Really?” He questions with great interest. “I do?”
“Technically, you all do,” You explain further. “So, what can I do for you?”
“Jesse, Echo, and Fives aren’t in their bunks,” Hardcase begins to explain. “I thought they went to the refresher, but when they didn’t come back, I got worried.”
You smile at him and his concern for his brothers. “Don’t worry,” You soothe. “They’re right here with me.”
“What?” He questions with reproach. “They get to sleep with you? No fair!”
“Would you like to sleep here too?” You propose, thinking one more clone wouldn’t hurt.
“Really?” He asks with excitement. “Can I?”
“Only if you keep your voice down,” You hush as you feel Echo stir under your arm.
“Oh,” He quickly whispers. “Right. Gotcha. I’ll be quiet.”
Hardcase crawls into bed next to Jesse and Jesse wraps an arm around his brother to make sure he feels included. You look \around at the group of clones covering your bed and let out a small chuckle. You’re not sure how one turned into four, but there’s no going back now. You can only hope that no more wayward clones will show up in your bedroom looking for a different place to sleep or their missing brothers.
However, your thoughts betray you as you sense Kix’s force presence entering your room. Should have seen that one coming. “If you’re looking for Echo, Fives, Jesse, or Hardcase, they’re here with me,” You announce, deciding to jump to the chase.
“You sound exhausted,” Kix jests as he folds his arms. “I can make them leave, you know.”
“It’s fine,” You answer while running your fingers through Echo’s hair. You remind yourself why you began this little clone sleepover in the first place and smile softly. “Sometimes, we just need each other.”
“Amen to that,” Kix agrees. “You got room for one more?”
“Of course,” You smile at the medic. “Grab a spot wherever you can find one.”
Kix crawls over Jesse and Hardcase, kicking them playfully in the process, and flops himself across from you near the edge of the bed. He grabs a fistful of covers and nuzzles them softly. You smile wide at his childish movements. They really are just children. Children who had their childhoods stolen from them. You can’t quite reach Kix, but if you could, you would rub his back to lull him to sleep. Maker knows medics need their sleep.
No sooner does Kix settle in, do you feel another force presence enter the room. This one is a little more cautious, as if he’s contemplating that he doesn’t belong. You feel his hesitation and call out to him, “Dogma. You can come in.”
“General,” He acknowledges as he steps closer. “I don’t mean to intrude.”
“You’re not intruding, Dogma,” You reassure the hesitant clone.
“Can…” Dogma begins, still feeling like he’s not allowed to ask for this. “Can I sleep here too?”
Your heart softens at his innocent and heartfelt plea, and you smile at him, “Yes, Dogma. You’re welcome here too.”
He smiles back and crawls across the edge of the bed and nestles neatly just below Echo and Fives. You wonder about Dogma sometimes, because he keeps to himself a lot and has trouble opening up to others. You feel great reservation from him, even on the battlefield. But you’ve heard from the others that his previous General was abusive and uncaring. It breaks your heart that anyone could be so malicious towards such beautiful souls. They didn’t deserve that.
Suddenly, you feel an intense presence of sadness and fear enter your room. Your heart begins to race as the force scrunches around you. You want to jolt up out of bed, but you don’t want to disturb your sleeping clones. As the force becomes less distorted, you can finally see who it is. “Tup?” You ask with concern. “Are you okay? You scared me.”
“They left me alone,” Tup says through a shaky breath while clenching his fists. “I don’t want to be alone.”
The pain in his voice breaks your heart. Every ounce of maternal instinct in you tells you to get up and hug this sad clone until all his pain is gone, but you can’t get up at the moment, not with all these sleeping clones surrounding your every side. Instead you invite him to come join you by patting the open real estate next to your left side. “Come here, Tup.”
He rushes over to the bedside and crawls over Kix to get to your side. You open your free arm and let him rest his head on your chest. You can feel a little shake in his body so you rub his back and place your head atop his. “Shhh. It’s alright,” You soothe. “I’ve got you. Your brothers are right here with you.” You feel the force settle around him and his breathing becomes soft.
“I wish I had a mother,” Tup admits into your chest.
You're surprised by the statement, but it’s not a completely unfounded thought. The clones are test-tube babies. Copies from an original source, with no mothers to speak of. Perhaps that is why they feel safe with you. Perhaps, because you are a woman, they feel a certain level of maternal attachment to you. That’s why they feel safe. That’s why they want to sleep here with you. That’s why they relax in your presence and melt under your touch. They just want a mother.
“What’s it like having a mother?” Tup asks out of curiosity.
“I don’t really remember mine to be honest,” You answer. “I was taken from her at a young age to be trained as a Jedi.”
“Oh,” Tup answers sadly.
“But,” You continue. “I do remember that she was warm and kind. She had a good heart and would sing me lullabies to go to sleep.”
“Lullabies?” Tup wonders at the strange word.
“Yes,” You explain in a hushed tone. “Mothers sing them to their children to help them go to sleep.”
“Would you sing us a lullaby?” Tup asks as he nuzzles further into you.
You’re shocked at the question. No one has ever asked you to sing, let alone sing a lullaby. “Well, I don’t know...” You hesitate.
You feel Echo tug gently at your hem and whispers, “Please?”
There were several more ‘pleases’ and ‘mhms’ coming from the lumps on your bed. You look around at the seven sleepy clones and wonder how you got yourself into this predicament. But, their innocence captures your heart and you feel a tender fondness for their simple request. How hard could it be to sing them a lullaby? You close your eyes and think back to when you were still with your mother and try to remember the words and the tune she sang to you.
Lay down your head and I'll sing you a lullaby
Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay
And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow
Bless you with love for the road that you go
May you sail far to the far fields of fortune
With diamonds and pearls at your head and your feet
And may you need never to banish misfortune
May you find kindness in all that you meet
May there always be angels to watch over you
To guide you each step of the way
To guard you and keep you safe from all harm
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
May you bring love and may you bring happiness
Be loved in return to the end of your days
Now fall off to sleep, I'm not meaning to keep you
I'll just sit for a while and sing loo-li, lai-lay
May there always be angels to watch over you
To guide you each step of the way
To guard you and keep you safe from all harm
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
You finish the lullaby as tears form in the corner of your eyes. The words of the song unlocked the sweet memories of your mother from so long ago. She was a strong and loving woman, and even though you don’t remember her face, you could feel her embrace you through the force as the lyrics of her soothing lullaby escaped your lips. Such a soft and simple song, but so full of love, care, and comfort.
You look around lovingly at the clones sleeping softly in your bed and smile. Your heart is full. They’re all sleeping peacefully, probably for the first time in a long while. But your happy thoughts are pierced with poison as you remember why they exist. The bloody war. The war that no one asked for. The war they lay their lives down for. Not all of them may come back, but for now, yes, for now they are safe here with you.
You look up as you sense the final presence you knew would show up eventually. “Captain,” You whisper, trying not to wake the clones. Rex came into the bedroom while you were singing the lullaby and leaned against the wall while he waited for you to finish.
“I was wondering where my men went,” Rex chuckles while looking at his sleeping soldiers spread out across your bed.
“They needed a little mothering tonight,” You say as you leave a gentle kiss on Echo’s head.
Rex smiles, “I can see that.”
“Will you join them?” You ask. “There’s room for one more.”
Without much convincing, Rex pushes himself off the wall and crawls onto the foot of the bed. He lays sideways at the edge, positioning himself to guard over his men. Rex is a great leader and a great Captain. He cares deeply for each of his men and puts their safety above his own. It’s just like him to take the most vulnerable and uncomfortable position so his men can relax and feel covered under his dutiful watch. You smile fondly at their brotherly bond.
You let out a small sigh and lean over to the left to leave a small kiss on Tup’s head. You would kiss them all goodnight, but the rest are too far out of your reach. “Codladh sámh, my little ones,” You whisper while leaning your head back against the pillow to finally let yourself fall asleep. “Dream of a life far away from this one.”

This was a little idea that I came up with for some reason but yeah.
“Ad’ika”
Summary: Fives have been patronizing you for the last couple of rotations with a word in a language you don’t understand. Now you’ll stop at nothing to figure out his little game.
Paring: Fives x GN Padawan Reader (PLATONIC WOOO)
Warning: none :) please try to enjoy
Word count: 902 This was meant to be a drabble but long then I expected, but shorter than my normal fics… if that makes sense
Notes: giving myself a pat on the back for actually proof reading something. Thank you thank you *bows*

Fives laughed as he practically draped himself over Echo's shoulder, he knew exactly what he was doing.
"Just tell me Fives!" You shot your hands up, running them quickly through your hair. Fives for the past few rotations started calling you a name in a language you didn't understand which was very unfair.
Ad'ika.
It has been haunting you since Fives started.
You knew some words in Mando'a but this was not one of the limited few.
A smirk flashed across his face again. Echo rolled his eyes at his batch mates actions knowing it was stupid to peeve off a Jedi.
"Echo come on." You tried him for the 100th time. "At least tell me it's nothing bad."
"It's nothing bad." Echo simply said looking from you to Fives.
"Then tell me!"
Fives only shook his head before looking down to his comms. "Maybe after training, which your going to be late for." He shot a finger up silencing your next thought, then jabbed towards the door the doors.
You took one last desperate glance at Echo which he only replayed with a shrug. Heavy footsteps stomped through the halls and out of their ear shot.
"Are you ever going to end their misery? I'm sure by tomorrow they're going to be threatening you with that lightsaber." Echo glance back at Fives as he now decided to get up once you were gone.
"Maybe." Fives said with a laugh. "I'm already in too deep, I said it on accident once but it's kinda growing on me." He bumped shoulders with Echo as they walked out into the halls.
"Besides it's making all the vodes very happy to have just a little fun keeping a small secret."
"And to be calling them that." Echo added as they both turned without thought to the barracks.
You dodged out of the way as you felt the air of the punch that Anakin sent right against your cheek.
The small training room aboard the Dominator wasn’t ideal but between missions it was perfect, or even to clear up some thoughts.
Anakin sent another kick that barely missed grazing your side. You could hear the load inhale that came from the Captain watching
“Y/N what’s going on today?” He asked in between punches and kicks. “Your distracted- I can barely hear myself think.”
With a grunt you sent another kick towards your master which he easily blocked. “Fives is driving me up the wall.” You said with a breath.
“What’s new? Welcome to my life.” Rex added from the wall he leaned on. “What did he do this time.” Anakin finished for him, bringing the sparing to a stop.
“He keeps saying something to me that I don’t understand. Every cycle I hear it but he won’t tell me, none of the men will.” You slide down the wall to the dusty mat that covered most of the floor.
Rex let out a small chuckle before Anakin joined you on the floor. “Well what is it?”
You leaned your head on the wall before answering. “Ad’ika.” The new language felt weird on your tongue. “Do you know it master?”
Anakin glanced at Rex before looking back at you. “Fives is calling you that?” He asked with a smile growing on his face.
“Yes! All the men are. Do you know what it means?” Your eyes lightened up looking form Anakin and Rex. Maybe finally you’ll get answers.
Anakin along with Rex started to laugh, clearly something about your misery was amusing to them.
“Well since Fives asked me not too I’m sure the general would be perfect to let you in on their little game.” Rex put his hands up in surrender as he joined the pair on the ground.
Rex watched as Anakin leaned over and whispered in your ear. You snapped your head towards his direction with a questioning look on your face.
“Are you sure?”
“I’m more than sure Y/N.” Anakin said with a smirk. “I’ve definitely heard Rex say it before.”
It made perfect sense now.
An old mission where you and Fives were in a Saloon when someone asked who you were- it rolled right off his tongue just as easy as his name did when introducing himself.
In the dead of night after a hard campaign- the comforting words seemed to wrap you up like a blanket.
All the times Fives has called you that seemed to be seen clearly through the light of day. They all came flooding back to you.
It seemed like a trance when you got up and walked away from the training room. Your brain didn’t really know where you were going but your legs did.
Around a corner, then another. You practically bumped into Fives as you turned into another corridor, the path to the barracks seemed engraved into your mind at this point.
“How was training Ad-“ Before he could finish his sentence you wrapped your arms in a rib crushing hug around Fives.
Caught off guard it took him a second to really register what was going on. “Is everything all right Y/N?”
You nodded into his chest, staying in his warm embrace for a moment longer before you said. “I like that name. Please don’t ever stop using it.”
You felt Fives give a little chuckle before he said. “I knew you would.

Lore dump for this new War Torn AU under the cut hehe
So the main premise of this au is that the Clone Wars never ended, which is why my working title of the War Torn AU, bc the galaxy is being torn by war.
Basically the prequels play out exactly like the movie, right up until the end of Revenge of the Sith, along with some background action during Clone Wars. Two main things change: anakin’s arc, and Five’s quest.
During the clone wars, instead of just running, Fives calls upon his ex-commander, Lady Tano. She can’t prevent his inevitable confrontation with Fox and Rex, but she can secretly prevent the bullet from lethally hitting him, effectively faking his death. Fives tells her about the control chips, and while she chooses not to directly involve herself, she does send him to Lux Bonterri, who decided to help work on a cure for the chip, or at least a way to loosen it’s hold (don’t come at me for the Lux thing, I just think that he should have more screen time and I haven’t watched CW in like two years. Ahsoka, disturbed by this information, goes to Bo Karan earlier than in the original timeline, and convinces her to allow Ahsoka to use Mandalorian resources for humanitarian efforts. I think that because she’s still struggling with her complicated relationship with war and fighting she’s originally be opposed to the idea of rejoining the war effort,. She would try to focus more on the peacekeeping role of the Jedi, even though she doesn’t think of herself as one.
Timeskip to around Season 7: Fives catches word of the bullshit on Scako Minor, and realizes that Echo is alive. He wants to contact Echo, but realizes that he’s not in a spot to do it without risking his ally’s efforts (btw they’ve pretty much developed the cure by now). So he contacts Ahsoka, who’s about to speak with the Jed about Maul and Manalore. He asks her to take him along, so that he has a chance of speaking with and persuading Rex. She agrees, and he also gets her to talk it through with Anakin. After their discussion, Ahsoka realizes the identity of the Sith controlling the senate.
She goes and tells Obi wan, and together they confront Anakin and convince him to not do anything rash, effectively holding back his dark side turn for now.
Meanwhile Fives confronts Rex and Echo (he didn’t join the Bad Batch), they get told the truth, and Fives shows them the chip-cure that all clones need to be exposed to. They have a huge speech in front of the 501st, who are convinced (not easily).
They have to go back to the plot, though, and Anakin is wrestling with his feelings the whole time whist saving the Chancellor. When he doesn’t kill Dooku it raises suspicion from Palpatine, but he doesn’t act on it for his master plan is almost complete. Ahsoka’s story is mostly the same, save for the speed of it. With the entirety of the 501st fighting with their whole hearts, Ahsoka, Rex, Fives, Echo, and Bo apprehend Maul, although Jesse is left in rough shape. Lux and his ‘rebel’ organization meet them on Mandalore and equip all of the 501st with th cure. They then take off and try to spread it as quickly as possible to the rest of the clone army.
Anakin, brash as ever, decides to confront Palpatine in lieu of the Jedi Masters, while Obi wan lets them know about the chips and the Sith. Palpatine plays with Anakin, but once he realizes that he’s been pushed towards the light, he becomes angry, and basically kidnaps Anakin. After that he enacts Order 66. Unfortunately for him the 501st managed to cure a good chunk of the Army thanks to Plot Holes. About of a 1/4 of all Jedi do die, though.
The Senate realizes that the war was not what they thought after the Jedi reveal most of the truth. Bail is elected to Chancellor, and Padme worries about her husband who’s currently being held by Darth Sidious. The facade of the ‘separatists’ falls away and is revealed to the Empire, looking to take over the galaxy. In response the Republic begins using civilian soldiers, the Jedi fighting to retain control over the Clone Army (for fear of generals like Pong Krell taking over) but resolving to fix the issues and darkness within their temple first.
After this I’m not sure exactly what happens, but I do know a few things
Anakin has to struggle with his darkness and the manipulation/torture Palpatine puts him through while being captured.
Ahsoka rejoins the Jedi and leads the Reformation movement, fighting to alter their code into one that better represents the core values of the Jedi
She also accepts the title of General, leading the 501st in Anakin’s absence, and becoming a renowned leader/fighter/peacekeeper
Obi wan is promoted to Grand Master and has to struggle with the influence of power and how he wasn’t able to recognize the influence of the Sith
The clones grapple with the implications of their chips and their place in a world with dwindling need for them
Padme must raise her children and fight for the rights of all Republic soldiers.
Anakin turns into a Winter Soldier-esque weapon for the Empire??
Skywalker twin bullshit
This is all subject to change and shamelessly fan service (it’s me, I’m the fan), so I’ll stop yapping now and start hyperfixating about this AU
Design sheet for my new Star Wars AU :)
I’ll rb with the details, but can we just appreciate my girl for a sec?
My first DTIYS! This is for @phantasm-echo on Instagram, and I'm pretty happy with how it came out :3 Credit for this incredible AU and character design all goes to them!
sweet holy- wear that uniform fives!!!
now I wanna see all of the clones wear these uniforms..
Love the idea of clones in uniforms... a suggestion, maybe them with that navy suit? Like with the white hat and white gloves I think

Ahsoka had never been so exhausted. Day in and day out she and Fives worked tirelessly with Rex and the other clones, fighting to undo the damage the Empire had wrought upon the Galaxy. It was good work. Important work. Possibly the most important work Ahsoka had done in her entire life. But it’s importance to her did not negate the toll it took on her, both physically and mentally.
As she trudged back to the room she shared with Fives on Teth, she nearly collapsed before she even reached the door. With a sigh, she managed to hit the controls with tired, fumbling fingers on the second try, and lumbered into the room.
Even as tired as she was, she couldn’t help the small smile and laugh that was plucked from her chest by the sight that greeted her. Fives was sprawled out on the tiny bed, shoved into the corner of the room. His head was at the foot of the bed (nearly hanging off of it, in fact) and one foot was on her pillow, while the other dangled off the edge of the bed.
Fives twisted his head and cracked open an eye at the sound of her laughter, a wry smile appearing on his lips despite the tiredness that sat upon his brown. Ahsoka could feel a similar exhaustion to her own enveloping him in the Force, and she almost felt bad for waking him. But now that he was awake, she figured she might as well make the best of it.
“Something looks wrong about the way you’re lying in bed, dear,” Ahsoka teased, tapping her finger on her chin. “But I just can’t put my finger on it.”
Fives’ smile transformed into a smirk in an instant, and he raised one hand and folded it behind his head. Ahsoka crossed her arms over her chest and fought the urge to roll her eyes, knowing whatever was going to come out of Fives’ mouth next would be ridiculous. His flirting was never any good when he was exhausted.
“Is that so? I know exactly what’s wrong with this bed,” Fives drawled, his smirk only widening as he withheld the punchline of his quip. Ahsoka raised a brow marking.
“Oh? Please, do tell me,” Ahsoka shot back, her voice dripping with good natured sarcasm as she approached the bed, ensuring she stayed just outside of his reach.
“The only thing wrong with this bed… is that you’re not in it.” Fives smirk had turned to a self-satisfied grin by the time he’d finished speaking. Ahsoka rolled her eyes but laughed despite herself. Still, she couldn’t let such a cheesy line slide without a little further protest, no matter how good sliding into bed with Fives might sound to her exhausted mind and body.
“Well, how could I be in it, when someone’s foot is on my pillow?” She asked, looking pointedly to his foot that still lay on the flat but comfortable pillow she usually used. Fives stared back at her indignantly.
“No, it’s not!” he exclaimed, looking perplexed. Ahsoka rolled her eyes again and made her way to the head of the bed, tugging at the pillow wedged securely beneath his foot.
“Yes,” she said, tugging the pillow roughly once more, yet still unable to free it from his foot. “Yes, it is.”
“Nope,” Fives insisted and then smirked as he patted his chest. “Your pillow is right here.”
For the third time, Ahsoka rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t help the smile that broke out across her lips. With a shake of her head and a breathy giggle, she finally relented, kicking off her shoes and then climbing over Fives’ prone form, wedging herself between him and the wall. She shuffled around on the bed, getting comfortable before snuggling into his side, lying her head on his chest as if he were her pillow, as he’d suggested.
Fives’ arms immediately encircled her, and she giggled as she kicked at his pillow with her bare feet, still baffled by their reversed position on their bed.
“Why?” she mumbled against his chest. Fives shrugged and kissed one of her montrals.
“Does it matter?” he replied, his voice already low and thick with sleep as he caressed her arm and trailed his fingers up and down her spine. Ahsoka smiled sleepily against his chest and snuggled in tighter.
“I guess not,” she murmured in reply, her own eyelids once again feeling heavy with exhaustion, matching the lead in her limbs that seemed to lock her in place against Fives’ side, ensuring she could do nothing but cuddle him and sleep, for the next few hours at least.
Before she knew it the steady beat of her lover’s heart beneath her head and his slow but soothing respirations lulled her into a sweet, gentle sleep beside him. Her dreams were few, but what images she remembered were exclusively of Fives; they were happy, joyous and delightful. When she later awoke, still encircled in his strong, solid arms, she would swear it was the best sleep she’d had in a long time.
For the kiss prompts, I would like to request another Fivesoka please! 💙
35. A kiss against a wall
Ah I had so much fun with this prompt and it got loooooooong! Thank you so much for the request. This fic inspired a ton of Fivesoka fix it head canons so I can safely say I WILL be writing more about these two in the future :)
This fic is set during TCW after Ahsoka leaves the order, but she returns sooner than she does in canon because Anakin has called her back... because reasons... This is also a fix-it scenario because well, Fives lives <3
Without further ado, full fic below the cut for some spiciness :)
Pairing: Fivesoka
Word count: ~2,800
The halls of the Resolute were still and silent, the night cycle having taken effect several hours ago. Ahsoka felt as though she was a spectre, wandering the halls in search of some solace from the prickling discomfort that had settled into her bones after stepping aboard the vessel.
She did not regret her decision to return to the war effort. When she’d received Anakin’s call, she’d felt the gravity of his words even worlds away. He’d been rather cryptic about why he needed her to return, but she knew it was important.
After she’d arrived, she’d tried to entreat some answers from him to assuage the growing sense of dread in her gut but Anakin had been firm in his stance. All he would reveal was that he planned to tell her tomorrow, when Obi-Wan arrived with his fleet. He told her that his information required 'coordination', and the plan would require a 'precise execution'. He would reveal nothing more.
Ahsoka smiled wryly against the cool trepidation in her heart. She’d never seen Anakin so organized, nor so grim. Whatever was happening must be serious, but she trusted Anakin without question. She would wait until the briefing tomorrow, but that didn’t mean the wait would be an easy one.
She’d intended to retreat to her quarters and meditate before attempting to rest, but her feet had led her away from the officers’ quarters, in search of something else entirely. There was one person whom she’d been unable to reunite with since her return. Sadly, she couldn’t seek him out directly, for it would look rather odd of her to single one clone out over all the others. And a reunion amongst the other troopers was not the same.
Fives had been there, a part of her welcoming committee, so to speak, but they hadn’t said a word to each other. Ahsoka had barely glanced in his direction, and he’d stood at attention as procedure and protocol dictated. Beyond a subtle flare in his Force signature, he’d betrayed nothing, and Ahsoka was grateful for that. Up until now they’d kept their relationship a secret, and she intended for it to remain that way, for the time being.
Passing through another set of blast doors, Ahsoka realized she was indeed in the bowels of the ship now. She’d made her way down to the storage levels, and the hallways were lined with various alcoves, leading off towards other storage rooms housing more supplies. With a sigh, Ahsoka continued her walk, drumming her fingers against her thigh. When she's last been down here it had been for entirely more enjoyable reasons, accompanied by the one who's presence she yearned for now. She smiled at the memory, pretending it didn't color her cheeks with a pleasurable blush.
As she passed the next alcove the Force crackled with warning, and Ahsoka was ready for the hand that shot out of the darkness, intending to catch her unawares. She allowed the assailant to grab her, but twisted away easily at the last second, spinning and catching the attacker across his chest with a glancing blow. Then she pounced on him and shoved him into the wall, with her forearm across his chest to pin him. She made sure to keep her strikes measured though, as she had a good idea who her mystery attacker was.
“Whoa there Commander, take it easy,” Fives’ familiar drawl filled her heart with warmth, and she couldn’t help the way her face broke out into a happy smile. “I just wanted to say hello.”
“Since when does hello require dragging someone into a dark, abandoned hallway?” Ahsoka quipped, leaning into Fives a bit and enjoying the fact that he’d chosen not to wear the top half of his armor for this clandestine meeting. His chest was warm against hers, and his goatee tickled the skin of her arm beneath his chin as he looked down, fixing her with a mischievous smile.
“I had to find some way to get you alone,” Fives rumbled, his smile transforming into a self-satisfied smirk as he obviously caught the way Ahsoka was already looking at his lips. Ahsoka cursed her eagerness but could not deny she was hungry for a kiss. It had been too long. Their separation had been of her own making but still, she missed him dearly.
As Ahsoka leaned in, tilting her head up, Fives bent his head to meet her, but stopped short of pressing their lips together. His breath was warm against her face, and when his bottom lip brushed her top lip it was all Ahsoka could do to prevent herself from grabbing his face and pulling his mouth to hers.
Frustrated, she murmured, “What are you waiting for?”
Fives chuckled and his hands settled around her waist, one slowly travelling up her side to grasp her shoulder. He moved ever so slightly, brushing his lips against the side of her mouth, his thumb tracing her hip bone beneath her battle dress. Ahsoka couldn’t help the soft sigh that escaped her lips, and she relaxed into his touch, practically falling against his chest.
As soon as she relaxed, Fives sprang into action. He grasped her shoulder and shoved her backward, flipping them around so that she was the one pressed into the wall, and he now towered above her. Ahsoka tried half-heartedly to escape, but ended up with her hands pinned as well, one beside her hip, and the other alongside her head. Fives pinned her hips with his, trapping her with the full weight of his body and ensuring every inch of their bodies were pressed together.
“That,” he rasped, grinning triumphantly from ear to ear. “I was waiting for that.”
And then he kissed her. It was passionate and rough and wanting, and Ahsoka couldn’t help the whimper that left her lips as deep desire flared brightly through her lower abdomen. Fives deepened their kisses quickly, swiping his tongue against her bottom lip, to which she gladly parted her lips, meeting his tongue with her own.
His grip on her wrists loosened and Ahsoka pulled her hands free, roaming her hands over his body and exploring every inch of him. She ran her fingers through his hair – shorter than usual, she noted – and over his shoulders to his waist, and then back up his chest. She could feel every muscle through his blacks, and once again basked in the warmth radiating from his body. She was always so cold when she was in space, but she was never cold when she was with Fives.
One of Fives hands gripped her waist tightly, pulling her hips against his as he slipped his knee between her legs, while his other hand worked its way up her body, enjoying her curves as he met them, before tracing the chevrons of her lekku with his fingertips. His lips travelled across her jaw and then down to her neck, kissing and sucking at her skin hungrily.
Ahsoka tried to stop the breathy moan his actions tore from her lips but found she could not, and Fives seemed only to kiss her more vigorously for it. She ran a hand over his head again, wanting to fist her fingers in his hair but was disappointed as she noted again that it was too short to do so. Instead, her hands travelled back down his body, before attempting to slip beneath the bottom of his shirt.
The second her fingers met the skin of his abdomen he grabbed her wrists again, wasting no time in pinning her arms above her head. He stretched his body out over hers, pressing her into the wall and ensuring they were nose to nose. His eyes danced playfully, and he didn’t even bother to fight the grin that split his features so pleasantly.
“Really Ahsoka?” He drawled. “Undressing me in the hallway of all places?”
Ahsoka made an indignant noise. “Do you want me to stop?”
Fives hummed low in his throat and kissed her deeply, rolling his hips against her as he did so. Ahsoka gasped and he pressed his tongue into her mouth again, kissing her for some time before they were both forced to come up for air.
“Of course I don’t,” he mumbled against her lips, and then kissed along her jaw to her lekku as he spoke next. “Though glad to know you care about what I want.”
His words snapped Ahsoka out of the lustful bliss she’d fallen into, and her eyes popped open, brow markings furrowing in confusion.
“What?” she murmured as Fives lavished her right lek with kisses, tracing the pattern of her chevrons with his tongue. “What are you talking about?”
Fives pressed a few more kisses to her shoulder as he murmured, “Didn’t seem to matter what I thought when you left.”
Ahsoka stiffened beneath him, the guilt of her departure settling deep into her gut, like a ball of durasteel chained around her sternum. Seeming to sense the change in her mood Fives pulled back. He released her hands which she dropped to his chest, and he placed his hands on her shoulders, holding her carefully and averting his gaze.
“I’m sorry, I… I didn’t mean it like that.” Fives swallowed and then looked her in the eye. His eyes were stormy and sad, and Ahsoka could see the depth of his pain as she stared into the deep brown hues.
“I just wish…” he started before swallowing and stepping towards her, getting as close to her as was possible. “I just wish you’d said goodbye.”
Ahsoka’s heart broke in her chest at the cadence of his voice, so hollow and empty. She cradled his face between her hands, stroking his cheeks sweetly.
“I didn’t want to leave you,” she whispered, searching his face and trying to convey the depth of her contrition. “I’m so sorry, Fives.”
“No, no,” he shook his head and took a deep breath. “I know I’m being petty. I know there was far more to it than just you and I. But I…”
He sighed and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her against his chest. “I really care about you, Ahsoka. And when you left without a word... and then I’m left to find out from an announcement from the General, without any contact or explanation.” He shook his head, brow furrowed tightly. “I know you had your reasons but-“
“I hurt you,” Ahsoka said quietly, nodding and caressing his cheek softly. “I know I did. I’m so sorry, truly, Fives.”
Fives nodded. His eyes still held sadness, but he smiled softly at her, reaching up to trace the white markings on her cheeks. Ahsoka smiled back, enjoying the way his fingers skimmed over her skin.
“It’s alright.” Before she could protest, he was shaking his head and speaking again. “Really, Ahsoka. It’s alright. I know there was more to it. Things are not often what they seem.”
His voice faded out and his eyes took on a faraway look as he rubbed his fingers absentmindedly over his right temple. His frown concerned her and Ahsoka looped her arms around his neck, holding him a little tighter. She could feel the muted distress in his Force signature.
“What is it?” she whispered, scratching her fingers over the back of his head gently. Fives dipped his chin and kissed her forehead. He took a deep breath.
“A lot’s changed since you left. The General will tell you more tomorrow.”
Ahsoka raised a brow marking, her curiosity flaring again as it seemed even Fives was privy to Anakin’s cryptic ‘news’.
“So I’ve heard,” Ahsoka said. “But no one seems willing to tell me what’s really going on.”
Fives shuddered in her arms, furthering Ahsoka’s concern. It took a lot to frighten him, and the way he pulled her tightly into his arms and peppered her montrals with desperate kisses had her heart hammering in her chest with worry. Before she’d suspected the news was serious. Now she knew something was wrong.
“Fives-“
“I can’t say more, meshla,” he murmured against her skin, continuing to kiss every available inch of her. “Please don’t ask. The less people who know, the better. I trust the General, and Rex. They have a plan.”
Ahsoka wanted to protest, to entreat Fives to honesty, but the resolve in his Force signature made her hold her tongue. Ahsoka cradled his face between her hands and brought his eyes back to hers. Behind the resolve, she could feel his distress thrumming in the Force between them, and she sought for some way to reassure him.
“I’m with you, Fives. I won’t leave you again, no matter what happens.”
Fives smiled, his eyes softening in a way she’d rarely seen before. He kissed her once, sweetly and softly before pulling back and fixing his eyes on hers.
“I love you,” he answered, softly and firmly, without any bashfulness nor uncertainty. “Whatever comes next I want you to know.”
Ahsoka was overwhelmed with feeling. She felt her insides go numb but at the same time she was convinced her skin was on fire. She wanted to cheer or shout or say anything at all, but she couldn’t find her voice. So, she kissed him hard, wrapping her arms around Fives’ neck and pulled him to her. Fives returned her affection, pressing kiss after kiss to her mouth as his hands explored her body. His hands slipped beneath her backside, and he lifted Ahsoka up, trapping her body between his own and the wall behind her. Reflexively she wrapped her legs around his waist holding him tightly as they kissed.
Fives hitched the skirt of her battle dress up above her hips, slipping his hands beneath it to touch the bare skin above her leggings. Ahsoka shivered with desire and dropped her head to nibble her way down his neck, huffing in frustration when the collar of his blacks got in the way. She changed directions, kissing up the side of his head and flicking her tongue over the shell of his ear before biting it gently. Fives growled quietly and pressed kisses to her lekku and shoulders.
“Kriff,” he muttered. “I want you. So much.”
Ahsoka nodded and pressed kisses into his hair again as he sucked a mark into the soft skin of her neck below her jaw.
“Yes, Fives,” she groaned softly, but shook her head as his left hand skimmed down over her breast and towards the waist band of her leggings. “Wait, wait. Not here.”
“Where?” Fives muttered between kisses, returning his hand to her breast again, his touch distracting her in the most pleasant of ways.
“My quarters,” she murmured between kisses. “Twenty minutes.”
“Twenty?” Fives exclaimed incredulously, pulling back and raising a teasing eyebrow. Ahsoka laughed and grinned.
“Fine, fifteen minutes,” she amended. “Just make sure-“
“No one sees me,” Fives nodded. “Sure thing, Commander. I know the drill.”
Ahsoka scoffed and slapped his shoulder good naturedly. “Don’t be so smug.”
“Hmm. You like it when I’m cocky,” Fives countered, adjusting his hands beneath her thighs, having yet to let her down from her perch between himself and the wall. Ahsoka rolled her eyes.
“Do I? Please tell me then, what else do I like? Since you seem to know so well,” Ahsoka harrumphed, though she kept her tone light to let him know she was teasing.
“I know exactly what you like,” Fives rumbled, leaning in until their lips were almost touching. “But I’d rather show you, than tell you.”
“Maybe you should do both. That could be fun,” Ahsoka murmured before she realized what she was saying. Fives snorted and grinned, finally taking a step back so she could drop down between him and the wall, settling back onto her feet with a deep blush coloring her cheeks.
“That can be arranged,” Fives drawled, grinning from ear to ear. Ahsoka shook her head but smiled, straightening out her dress before making for the door.
Before she left, something tugged at her heart, and she looked back over her shoulder at Fives. His words from earlier thrummed in her ears and in her heart, the magnitude of his feelings warming her from the inside out. She knew the feelings in her heart matched his, and he deserved to hear it.
With her heart hammering in her ears, Ahsoka turned back and took Fives’ hand in hers, holding it gently and running her thumb over his knuckles.
“Fives,” she murmured softly, meeting his eyes with a smile. “I love you too.”
Fives didn’t grin, nor chuckle, nor did he say anything at all. Ahsoka blushed as he smiled the softest smile she’d ever witnessed from him, and very slowly he brought their joined hands up to his lips. He pressed a kiss to her knuckles while holding her gaze, and Ahsoka felt her heart and stomach attempt to switch places as butterflies careened between her chest and abdomen.
“Go on,” Fives murmured, jerking his chin towards the door. His words were brusque, but his eyes were loving and kind. Ahsoka kept her eyes on his until she exited the room completely, her heart soaring in her chest as her world seemed to fall into place. The Force still swirled with malcontent, and Ahsoka knew things were about to get worse before they got better. But come what may, she knew with Fives at her side she could handle any hardship the Galaxy decided to throw their way.
For the kiss roulette, please do prompt 40. An impulsive kiss, for Fivesoka 👀
Thank you so much for the ask! This is the first ever fivesoka piece I’ve written, so I hope you enjoy! It’s a little longer than planned but that’s a good kind of mistake to make as far as I’m concerned 😉
Without further ado, here’s the fic:
Fives dropped down beside Ahsoka, landing heavily and somewhat unsteadily on his backside. Leaning over and squishing his shoulder against hers he asked, “Would you like some?”
He wiggled a mug holding a rather strong smelling alcoholic liquid and gave her an exaggerated wink. Ahsoka smiled and shook her head.
“I don’t think so, Fives. I don’t partake of anything Hardcase brews.”
Fives chuckled and shrugged, making a face as he took a sip.
“Why not?” He asked.
“Because I value the lining of my stomach,” Ahsoka muttered with a roll of her eyes.
“It’s not that bad!” Fives insisted, although the way his face contorted into a grimace as he took another swig had Ahsoka bursting into uncharacteristic fit of giggles.
Fives grinned, seemingly happy to have elicited such a reaction from her. Nudging her side with his elbow, he questioned, “What are you doing all alone anyways? You should join us and celebrate.”
Ahsoka smiled wanly. “I am celebrating,” she insisted.
“Looks to me like you’re brooding. And given that we just won the war, I’ll have none of that.”
Ahsoka scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest, regarding him incredulously. “Since when did it become regulation to order your commanding officer around?”
Fives grinned and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, tucking her into his side. Ahsoka ignored the way her heart jumped along in her chest at the proximity.
“War’s over, ‘Soka. I don’t think you’re going to be my commanding officer much longer.”
“That’s what worries me,” Ahsoka admitted, leaning into his half embrace a little more, seeking what comfort she could. “It won’t be the same without everyone around.”
She gestured to the gathered soldiers for effect, and felt more than saw Fives nod against her montral. She shivered at the gentle contact, enjoying the scratchy feeling of his goatee against her skin.
As her eyes flicked up to Fives once more she felt the impulsive words tumble from her lips before she could stop them.
“It won’t be the same… without you.”
Fives’ eyes widened at her statement and his throat bobbed as he swallowed nervously. Still, he tightened his arm about her shoulders and leaned in slightly, setting Ahsoka’s heart aflight in her chest once more.
“Without me?” He questioned, raising an eyebrow in a teasing manner, but Ahsoka was caught off guard by the earnest hope in his eyes, sparkling and flickering as the flames from the bonfire turned his deep brown eyes to a pleasant amber. “What do I have to do with anything?”
Ahsoka tried to form a response. She really did. But when her lips parted, instead of speaking she leaned forward suddenly, closing the distance between them and pressing her lips to Fives’ mouth. The kiss was brief and exhilarating; when she pulled away she heaved a terrified breath, instantly aware of the implications of what she’d done.
Fives looked as stunned as she felt, eyes wide and lips parted, staring back at her in awe.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to do that,” Ahsoka stammered, trying and failing to think of some way to explain her way out of this scenario.
Fives blinked a couple times before finally seeming to reboot his mind. Shaking his head lightly, he smirked and cupped her cheek, running his thumb across her cheekbone.
Slowly, he leaned in, keeping his eyes on hers until the last second. As her eyes fluttered closed, Ahsoka was only aware of the warmth of his breath on her lips and the gentle motion of his fingers against her cheek. The suspense nearly stopped her heart in her chest as she waited for Fives to kiss her.
When he finally pressed his lips to hers, Ahsoka was sure her heart did a full flip in her chest before it resumed beating behind her ribs. Fives’ lips were soft and purposeful against her own, and Ahsoka relished in the sweet sensation, feeling it was entirely too early when he eventually pulled away.
Fives moved so he could cradle her face between his hands.
“Well… I meant to do that,” he said, smiling softly. Ahsoka giggled and grinned, her cheeks pressing sweetly into the palms of his hands. Fives grinned with her and leaned forward, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
“Whatever happens next, ‘Soka, I know what I want. The only way you’ll be without me is if you send me away yourself,” he promised, reassuring her with an overly exaggerated stern look, couching the expression with a wink.
Ahsoka wrapped her arms around him and pulled Fives into a tight embrace.
“Never let me go,” she ordered. She hoped it would be the last order she’d ever give as his commanding officer.
“Never,” he agreed.
