The size of the dorm always bugged me a little. Each dorm was for one class, so 20 kids. But because of how they separate the genders, it's kinda too big or not big enough.
Why did they not fill a floor before going to the next one? They could have filled floor 4 for the boys and then had two on the top floor. The girls could have been kept to floor 2 and 3 and not even bothered with the other two floors.
And what if they didn't have that many girls in a class? To keep the left/right separation, a class could have at most 16 of one gender. You could maybe start filling up the empty side of that floor with the same gender (so if class 1-A had more boys, floor 2 could have been all boys maybe), but not sure if that would work if they are really trying to keep them separate.
I know the dorms also served the purpose of trying to find the traitor, so keeping the classes isolated probably helped with that. But from a construction and space standpoint, you could have mixed the classes to avoid so many empty rooms.
