here's an idea or a possible AU for Tales of the Kin; Drothe's night vision wasn't the only effect of djinni power. As the side effect he also slowly but surely becomes a vampire and when his thirst becomes unbearable he badly wants to bite Degan. Degan had noticed changes in Drothe's behaviour or as a potential illness and, as the good friend he is, he lets Drothe bite him (???) idk
