Solar System

Simple learning about solar system, for children aged 4-7

Solar System

The Sun is the star of our solar system. A star is a huge, bright ball of gas, and around it, planets revolve. In our case, the star we call the Sun has eight planets orbiting around it:

Mercury: The closest planet to the Sun. It is also the smallest planet in our solar system.

Venus: Even though it is not the closest planet to the Sun, it is the hottest! No one could live on Venus because its daytime temperature is about 467°C (872°F)!

Earth: This is the planet where we humans live! It is in just the right spot for life to exist — for people, trees, and many other living things.

Mars: This red planet is also a candidate for the possibility of life. Research shows that water has been found on Mars, which is necessary for life!

Jupiter: The largest planet in our solar system! On Jupiter, gravity is so strong that if someone were close to it, they would fall to its surface and would not be able to stand up again!

Saturn: This planet is famous for the beautiful rings that surround it. There are many of them, and they look amazing!

Uranus: One of the coldest planets in our solar system, with a temperature of about -224°C (-371.2°F)!

Neptune: The farthest planet from the Sun. It is known for its strong storms and winds, and for its beautiful blue color.

This is our solar system! A star at the center, with planets spinning around it.
