why tf am i writing so many poems latley- anyways this one kinda depressing idk why lolol (im also sick at the moment and a bit sleep deprived so this one might not make sense to most ppl- maybe even me once i sleep XDD)
The bugling cage
Fresh grass smell birds chirping bees and bugs humming in the distance i can hear it all
bright flowers soft sunlight fluffy clouds floating miles above me i can see it all
but i cannot frolic i cannot speak i cannot graze
because its all a dream a memory an imaginary thing
im trapped in my own brain. my body is just a zoo, keeping this ill and depressed bull while it struggles to get free.
it begs to frolic they beg to speak i beg to graze
some people may not agree with my brain but my body seems normal enough for them to talk to me i may have a tail, hooves or a set of antlers but i seem normal enough
until they meet the brain until they meet my real form until they visit the zoo.
random untitled poem idk what to name it T_T oh elk. does it hurt you when you do your mighty cry? do you know somewhere, out there in the bustling city. there is a human. a small human. who would truly like to join you. who thinks your cries are a melody. who thinks you can do no harm to your harem. who wants to escape their concrete chamber with their tough antlers and run off with their swift hooves.
but they have no hooves. they have no antlers, either. they are just a human. like all the others. one that repeats the cycle of all the others, too. kill. destroy. take. but this one is not killing your kind. this one is not destroying your home. this one is not taking your forage. this one is with you. on your side on the group with the wolves and rabbits. on the team that has the ferns and the stars. on the army of other people. the people that are just like that one small human, just like you. so, elk, does it hurt you when you do your mighty cry? or do you know that somewhere, out there in the many bustling cities. there are humans, small humans. that wont repeat the cycle of their ancestors. care. help. give. that is what the humans will do. the small humans. and although they are small, they are just like you.

fun fact!: elk are animals that have manes sorta like lions! although not very show-offy like them,(and the females also have them) they grow more puffy in the winter to keep warm sorta like turtlenecks XD

MY MA RANDOMLY TALKING TO ME IN THE DARK (shh i know its a mule deer) FR THO LIKE WHY U GOTTA DO THAT IT WAS A JUMPSCARE IRL BASICALLY T_T
cookies were a success anyways ma just wanted me to sleep teehee
i went on a northwest trek jeep tour yesterday and saw elk CLOSE UP!!! (since it was feeding time lolol and we did a bit of offroading) it felt so amazing to be there, i felt so connected and i even got a upclose shot of bison fur! (lolol his name was meadow and hearin him graze was so satisfying) tbh i absolutely love that place and i def reccomend to any cerivdae,bison or moose therians!! they also have a sorta zoo place that dosent require an appointment filled with all sorts of animals from the north and it was nice to explore! (prob dont guarantee seeing all of those animals tho since they are in enclosures with certain viewing areas) i also got a buncha other photos but decided it aint worth it since most were blurry,doubles or just werent good XD
also points to the elk matriarch cuz she was starin at us like an owl and protectin her fellow ladies like she should >:D more cool things but not in a rant way!: - our driver found a shed antler and it was so heavy T_T -got plenty of nature pics -saw a bighorn sheep which were sorta a rare sight according to our driver! -the elk ran across the water cuz they were sorta scared of the jeep at first and it sounded like a waterfall but way better -driver was so nice and informative! they knew like every single one of the animals names- -i now want a pet sassy goat, a bison with a bowlcut, 3 moose who act like siblings but come from different places and to kidnap my local swan

id never want to be an elk if i had the choice, i wouldnt take it
im glad to have these human abilities, smarts, and privileges. even though i want horns or a muzzle at times that would also mean i would have a horrible life. prey have alot of downsides with their life, prob not even making it to adulthood. its filled with anxiety, your friends and family just dying around you and running since theres only a small chance of successfully fighting back. predators have evolved right next to us so they know our plans, our moves, and our abilities while humans have quite a life of bliss. we even trap animals that can easily kill us like tigers and bears then look at them within zoos.
i cant really think of any other animal id want to be then the human, perhaps a domestic dog or parrot but thats honestly it
