shin godzilla, as well as being an allegory for the 2011 Japanese earthquake and subsequent nuclear reactor spill, is an allegory for nuclear survivors

1. appearance.

we can see that clearly with this image.

I would use a better image, but I'd rather not have this post deleted for content or something. js search up flash burns urself if u want more

flash burns.

shins entire body looks to be covered from head-to-toe in flash burns.

2. forms.

shins numerous forms are representations of radiation poisoning's worsening effects over time. she grows from a small, killable tadpod in the sea to 'god incarnate'.

form 1: tadpod form, first signs of radiation poisoning. the aftershock

form 2: on land. large and tramples, horrifying yet incomplete. people are unaware yet know it's dangerous. no real response

form 3: standing. a bloody transformation, with hot red muscle prodding out and overheating quickly. a response, yet it's shut down

form 4: the end. evolved, larger than ever with sickly black, rocky skin that reminisces the first few forms with cracked skin showing sickly red innards. unstoppable at this point.

the further danger shins reaches, the further radiation takes ahold

3. fear.

hibakusha (survivors of the hiroshima and nagasaki nuclear bombings) were highly discriminated against, with the Japanese populous not taking action for them, and even believing their radiation poisoning was hereditary or contagious.

this reflects on shin, being feared and shunned as a creature of death and destruction by all. global governments even wanting to join in the destruction of shin.

4. death.

shin, in her death, was frozen by blood coagulant. left as a statue in Tokyo, unmoving, until its disintegration.

nuclear bombs can create aftershadows, the intense light and energy of the bomb is absorbed into objects and organisms, yet the shaded part where a person is, is shielded by them. creating the effect of a shadow, a reminder of before the bombing occurred.

shin is frozen, bombing victims are preserved. both are weathered over time.

that will be all.
