Actual turns + new active indicator.
Characters can't be revived mid-battle.
a bug, this is not intended behaviour, tbh pretend you didn't even see this. My game has zero bugs, this is self-sabotage posted to make you think my game is buggy.
posting videos on tumblr seems to be a billion times more enjoyable than trying to post them on twitter. oh and yea now the characters move a bit when they do stuff.
yea that's right, I made the trees move
cool status effects. I actually need to fix the art for these right now in the present lol. PRO means protected
Hello, this is Ali from the future just checking in to show off these amazing new isosprites. Now you can see Jordan and Phoebe on the overworld. Way better than Alice and her two doppelgangers. The hardest to make had to have been Phoebe tho. Her hat is nuts.
cool system that lets you survive with 1 hp when you really should've died if you have a high-luck stat. also healing is in. it's bog simple stuff but I literally do not know how to code I am a master at programming.
I had to directly link these to twitter again since I saved over the originals on my hard drive. Did I mention my hard drive is almost full? Don't worry I bought an m.2 thing with another tb. I'm too scared to install it since the slot is on the underside of the motherboard.
I got so many things done during 2021. Like all of 2022 passed by and I barely refactored some of the code and continually realized how shit my game story will probably be my game will have a great story please play it when it's done
original tweet below:
AOE techniques work! I also learned the oddities of integer math recently... math is wack. -- Next up will probably be Healing? or Buff/Debuff.
sometimes I direct link to the image on Twitter. I am now realizing that might be a mistake and like a few posts might die out of nowhere. Oh well everything is preserved pretty nicely on discord
floating damage text. that's it
idk if you've noticed but like I queued up all these posts so my page could run itself for awhile. I've noticed that my blog's current theme only makes the videos look super nice but the images are displayed too small and it kinda ruins the aesthetic tbh
oh yea I guess I should add this is showcasing battler selection. it's pretty fancy.
okay, not gonna like this is cool, how the heck did I program this.
reposting everything kinda sucks, but like I haven't been making a lot of new content while I've been focusing on the story so hopefully, this will hold over? maybe. I should work on my game more.
we got even more characters now, and fancy weapons!
got one of the UI elements working in engine, Kinda sleek but miss the drop shadows...
Time to begin a shit ton of reposting. The title is the date of the original post. If you don't want to wait for it to appear here you can try and find my Twitter. No, I will not link it for you lazy bum. I will link discord tho
I'm Ali. This is a blog for my video game, I usually do this on Twitter but you know, rich dude wants more money. Welcome! I usually just post stuff about the game. My game is a JRPG-inspired exploration game called pearlessential. It's made in Godot Engine.
Website: pearlessential.webflow.io/
Itch: https://alkaliii.itch.io/
and since you read this far, I have an empty discord server waiting to be populated that you can find here: https://discord.gg/UZ3DCZXmr9
Not sure what else to say right now, other than be patient lol.
It's far from perfect, but I made a damn animation system that allow me to load the anims from TSV files. Now I have no excuses for finishing this game.
There is a shit ton of pointers, but somehow, still more confortable than unity.
SS: Okay, the first 4000 lines of code with you were fun, and perhaps is my fault for using so many pointers, but damn, now I'm kind of lost. Still better than Unity tho?
SS: I was unsure whether post here or what but, damn, Twitter is a burning hell and I just want to make funny videogames with my friends.
This is Birthright, a "small" project that was supposed to just take a couple of months but OH WELL, in four month will be a year, hell. This videogame is, clearly, based on The Binding of Isaac and intended to be a roguelite hack and slash. But since it is made in unity, this whole project has been a real ordeal, like, for some reason shaders didn't work and I had to delete the whole URP STUFF AND RE DO LIKE EVERYTHING?!?!?!?
