so i just read the second chapter of the giyushino lowkey married au by buriko on ao3

i kid you not i think i’m supposed to feel touched and i truly am but the heartburn bit that popped up like two times killed me instantly. i think another way the ending could’ve went (in a much more dramatic way) would be like:

chapter 2 epilogue:

shinobu: well, that was something. my smile feels a lot lighter now.

heart: wow that was nice, lemme just- (*cue romantic bgm*) skip a beat~ (*romantic bgm gets louder*)

shinobu: *oh…i….*(*romantic bgm slowly builds up until-*)

shinobu: oh i think i have tachycardia (ps: bear with me i think this was an actually pretty recently discovered illness back then but feel free to correct me) i have to do something i think i have- (*romantic bgm slowly turns into a train of mixed up medicinal jargon that nobody but shinobu will never comprehend*)

giyu: (*in the distance*) wow is she okay or smth

Oh God, what a sentence. Shinobu referring to her situation of her students keep dying and how every time it happened the guilt burden her further, cupping those broken butterflies with her tiny hands. "Carrying those two wings on your back ", referring to Sabito and Tsutako AAGHH GAH OH MY GODD

It's late, I am tired from first exam paper and the flu and I WANT TO DRAW THIS SCENE GRRR GRRR

Losing my mind at kny season 4 episode 2 cause I just see the same situations between Tanjirou/Giyuu and Kanao/Shinobu's interactions.

Giyuu thinking he's rather off dead and Tanjirou managed to successfully help him realise that his life is worth it,

and Shinobu about to tell Kanao of her suicidal plan with Kanao unable to convince her otherwise.

Two Hashiras; one overwhelmed with survivor guilt and another stop caring about anything else but revenge.

One realises he needs to live because that's what his late sister and Sabito would've wanted, and another ignores her late sister's will to keep on living and decides to soothe her anger by avenging the late sister.

Also I love how Giyuu asked about Shinobu's training, seeing that he doesn't 'hear' anything from her; implying that, possibly, in times he went to shut himself off like this, she would've written to him about what's going on and keeps in touch with him.

Oh my god he doesn't know about her plan. This hits harder now :((

Off topic, but look at how beautiful they are;

Woah it's like a reverse role. Now that I added the pics side by side, I adore the switch between them -- like how we see another side of them.

It's a bit odd to see the usually cheerful Shinobu looking so serious, and the sombre looking Giyuu seems relaxed now, isn't it?

Just watched the first episode of KNY season 4 and I absolutely love the animation. The breathing style, the soundtracks and everything. It's only the first episode but it's very chaotic already 🤣

Giyushino rambling here, but I love the subtle signs of Shinobu's concern over Giyuu. You can see it in the way she asked him to explain himself on leaving the unfinished meeting, how she said something along the line of Giyuu keeps leaving things out of context. Unlike the others who seemed mildly annoyed and ticked off by his distant attitude, Shinobu just wants his explanation, for him to speak out and make efforts to not be misunderstood. Even after the meeting, she raised the question regarding Giyuu's participation in the training.

Giyuu keeps worrying her to no end. Sometimes with how they act towards each other, I wonder if Shinobu made it clear to Giyuu that she wanted him to make acquaintance with the other slayers and he was just like "no thank you" so that pissed her off and she made it her mission to annoy him " you have no friends lololol" just so he could get tired of her poking and heed her advice.

I think there's an understanding between Shinobu and Giyuu of their positions as Hashiras. Giyuu doesn't think he deserves it but he's not going to say it to Shinobu, who is physically the weakest and still managed to raise her rank. He might not get social cues much, but he thinks it would be an insult for the hardworking Insect Hashira if he steps down from his position just because he feels undeserved. And Shinobu, who's sharp and sometimes cares too much, probably picks up Giyuu's feelings over his position so maybe that's why she wants her to make friends with others just so he could make more connections and feel worthy of his spot.

Talking about Shinobu, I am betting that she gives Inosuke an earful of scolding after seeing the damage he did on the window.b

We need to talk about how Giyuu has always noticed Shinobu being affected by her wisteria dosing. I feel like he worries but doesn't know how to express his concerns for her so he just stays silent.

Apparently some ship names are based on who's top and who's bottom so in this essay instead of Giyushino, it should be Shinogiyuu cause it is what it is.

I am still trying to decide why at the time Shinobu tried to roast him. One idea consists of Giyuu unintentionally jumpscared Shinobu when he emerged from the water and she dropkick him into unconsciousness before tying him up in an attempt to scare him.
