First Piece Submitted For Me This Year! I Wanted To Do Debmund Piece With The Pair Cosplaying As Other

First piece submitted for me this year! I wanted to do Debmund piece with the pair cosplaying as other pairs, whether canon or not that inspired them. I do feel while I most likely have some that are left out whether intentionally or not, these are the ones I feel had the most important impact on the process I had with these characters. My intent was to one, have fun with the cosplay aspect of it and two, to provide something to the people that like my character. I want to make a fanfiction with my character in it someday and finally provide closure for some people. Until then though, this is just something to show my thought process as I developed the ship in my headspace over the years. I also finally have closure on making Harold and Rhonda as Ares and Aphrodite! Woo, that was a clear connection that I wanted to do for so long. I think I know why I like Greek Mythology so much. It's one of the only religions that I know of where all the godly beings are very obviously nuerodivergent.

The greeks knew it too. They knew they're godly deities were weird as fuck. Their godly deities who could look just like their neighbor or their doctor or someone they pass in the street.

The gods in Greek mythology are so human, especially compared to other religions at the time. It was the first one that designed its gods on humans, one of the first ones where it was okay to laugh at the funny situations the gods got themselves in. The only religion at the time where, though if you got them angry they may kill your entire family, you could interact and be friendly with them.

They were so human. They had a home, a place to live. They went to parties and had their hobbies.

On top of it all, the Olympians are the embodiment of a crazy dysfunctional family. They are a mess, from the cheating husband (and fucking weirdo) in Zeus, to the bitter and jealous wife in Hera. They have kids (mostly Zeus) some who Zeus likes and some where he could literally couldn't care less. There's scandals and messy situation ships. There are betrayals and tragedies. The gods all have their different morals and lines they won't cross and it depends on which god.

They're based on humans. They are so human. (Which is something I don't see often in religions at all and it heals some part of my religious trauma) Yet, they are also weird as fuck, in ways that I find familiar.

They each have their special little things. Things that they care about a mighty deal. Things that are specific especially to them.

Ares with his fighting and war. Hephaestus with his creations and the forge. Hera and her single-mind on Zeus and his disloyalty- that woman is relentless on those poor mistresses. Poseidon and his odd love of horses and other things. Apollo and his music.

It's almost like those things that they focus solely on is some kind of... Special interest perhaps?

It's also the way the act and react to things. They will take things that are said or done that seem small and trivial to another person and blow it up. They will get really upset and make it a whole ordeal.

Like when Athena made a flute and was laughed at cause blowing into it made her look funny so she freaking cursed the flute and it's next player with a terrible fate and threw it off the mountain for no good reason. Or when someone found that flute they played it so well that the bragged that they would even be better than Apollo so he came down, challenged them and then SKINNED them alive after he won. Like dude, calm down.

And I haven't even gotten into how Rick Riordan characterizes them cause I have never seen so many neurodivergent characters in one place then I do in those books. Like, all the campers are neurodivergent because they are demigods, heavy on the god. They got their neurodivergences from them right so it stands to reason that they are also neurodivergent.

Anywayyyyy,

Im reading a Greek mythology textbook right now so I'm going to continue this train of thought as I keep reading but so far, from what I can tell, these fuckers are soooooo nuerodivergent. Argue with a wall if you disagree

It's not always about victory

This is the fic that I wrote for the mini bang on the "chicken tendies and bacon bits" discord server. It's supposed to be a teaser for a Percy Jackson / Dabihawks AU, because I got really into this concept and want to make this an actual multichapter fic. The amazing @kiwiliko drew an artpeace for it:

https://kiwiliko.tumblr.com/post/187902744285/dabi-and-hawks-for-the-chicken-tenders-and-bacon

Description:

Hawks always wanted to go to camp Halfblood. Now he gets to, after a little debacle involving three cyclops, a broken wing and blue flames.

Ok so I know Greek mythology is really old but I’m just gonna accept this as canon now <3

My take (fix) on Aphrodite Ares and Hephaestus complicated love triangle

I swear in every single version of their myth things are real messy- so yeah boom! JUST GET MARRIED YALL ALL THREE OF YOU! Things are platonic with Hepheastus but I like to imagine the other two jokingly make corny flirty jokes at him just to mess with the grumpy forge cat. And once again, honest conversation and polyamory saved the day.

Now this set up is very, very good as always.

The Princess of Poseidon is a good choice as some do said there should have been something for her in Valhalla and Old Kratos using her as doorstop.

Hera is curious, but makes sense he killed her just because she bad mouth Pandora when she was no danger to him.

Hercules, in Valhalla says he has no regret in killing him, saying Hercules wanted to be the God of War for all the wrong reasons, and not the right one. But I can also say Kratos at that point of time was willing to let Hercules live if he would step aside.

Hephaestus I can see from his downfall from grace, his savage beating from his father, failure to save Pandora, and Kratos respect towards Hephaestus doing what any father would do, protect their child.

Ares definitely needed to be in Valhalla and Kratos fighting Mars and the battle ending in a draw is pretty the same for Mars taking up both the legacy of Ares and Kratos as a God who fights to bring peace and who loves his people and followers. (Mars the Father and Mars the Avenger.)

I would also give a shot-out to Orkos, who was Kratos' last true friend for the longest time, being forced to kill him to free both from Ares.

It also would be great to see Atreus in his Anubis persona and the Guardian of the Dead.

Long time I know. I first offer a Merry Christmas for you and my family. But the Valhalla DLC for Ragnarök just dropped (Super wonderful), and I been thinking about how the old God of War in Egypt ideas would work with it. In Egyptian Mythology you have the 42 Negative Confessions and it 42 Judges of Maat. It's not about perfection, but to keep trying to outweight your bad deeds with good ones, to bring more balance than chaos to the world.

Alright so, in the God of War in Egypt AU, we've gotta trim the 42 down a bit, so we're grouping it into six groups of seven. Each group of seven represent a level to clear, with the final one at the end.

So the story is, after the final boss of the second game, Apophis, Osiris invites Kratos to the Underworld for "a great matter", and tells him someone wants to talk to him. Basically, Kratos has to traverse the 42 Confessors/Judges of Ma'at with Nephthys, facing one of his sins as a boss at the end of each level.

The 42, again, in groups of seven, you're not facing all of them at once, act as witnesses, watching him go through it, and talking to him at the end of it.

The bosses are all from the previous God of War games, particularly the ones Kratos feels kinda bad about.

Also, you get the Blade of Olympus at the beginning of the DLC, and it gains power with every boss you defeat.

First boss is Helios, good solid start to the story.

Second is the Princess of Posiedon, who sort of uses Posiedon's powers from GoW3. This ends with Kratos apologizing to her and her soul finding rest.

Third is Hera, who points out he could have shown her mercy but chose not to.

Fourth is Hercules, this one is lighter than the others, since Herc isn't really salty about losing, and Hercules passes on on good terms.

Fifth is Hephaestus, who is angry at the world more than Kratos himself.

The Sixth boss is Ares himself. the man who started it all. This is a knock down drag out fight... and it leads you into the REAL final boss.

See, once you've defeated Ares, you're led into the Heart Weighing Chamber where Anubis has begun his tenure as Guardian of the Dead, and under your son's gaze you fight the real Final Boss of the Ma'at DLC.

The final boss is Mars, the Roman God of War, the inheritor of both Kratos and Ares' legends. A more grim and noble God of War.

The fight ends in a draw, and Mars leaves, having put the ghosts of old to rest and returns to the fledgling Rome, to tak eup his post as the God of War.

Alternate take: Aphrodite thinks the is in an open marriage/polyamory type thing, but utterly failed to communicate that with any of her lovers.

I enjoy the idea that Aphrodite was actually super horny for Hephaestus. She is the god of sexuality. She is horny for everything. But! She is also the god of beauty. That means aesthetic and practical beauty as well.

In my mind, there is a furtive child of Aphrodite and Hephaestus who is the god of beauty-as-praxis, a god of architecture and product design. They would be the patron god of autism.
