Remember back in episode 2 where Towa still had her tomboyish personality with these darker undertones (she nearly broke a dude's arm in one of the MANY fights she got into) and after she got back to the feudal era she did a 180 and turned into textbook purity Sue?
Just look at this:
I remember seeing this line and thinking she'd make an amazing anti hero protagonist alongside the other two girls, but no. Her character development was just thrown out of the window.
2023 still sounds like one of those made up distant years someone would accidentally end up in on a time travel mission gone wrong
