This is horribly sad and like also my favourite thing 😁

I couldn't keep it to myself -- I'm imagining the fishing hook shenanigans that turned Etho and Joel red, and I'm imagining on the fall that kills them the hooks hooking into his wings instead of his shirt and desperately fluttering as the ground comes up to meet him

Additionally, imagining him as he and Etho walk through the Nether Portal and burn, his instinct to fly away from danger forces his wings out only for them to singe horrifically, dotting his wings with large ashy holes, not unlike the sails of The Relationship as fire engulfed it

Finally had the time to finish this artwork i made for hermitaday! I almost forgot about this LMFAO-

[Day 30]: TANUKI JOEL TANUKI JOEL TANUKI JOEL-

(Whenever i export animations, procreate sometimes messes up the colors a bit? It looks fine on my ipad, but the animation is desaturated on my phone, so here's what it should look like:)

Anyways, i thought it would be funny to draw Joel summoning Effo, inspired by Grian & Scar summoning mumbo during season 8. It turned out even sillier than i thought it would and i absolutely love it wkdhwjd

(explanation of the animation + sketch of the tail below!)

Also wanted to show off the sketch since it shows off the movement a lot better! I did end up changing a LOT (and even ended up adding some frames where i did lineart w/o a sketch inbetween... Oop-) but u can still kind of see the drag and offset?

So basically: since the tail isn't a stiff object like... A table or sth, it has multiple 'joints' (<-don't remember the proper term for it). Now, if u animated the tail just moving back and forth it would look v v stiff and wierd, since irl the tip of the tail would be "dragged along" with the bottom (<-aka the ACTUAL joint that the movement originates from). To create a more organic and realistic movement, you need to slightly delay the other parts of the tail. I usually use those lil circles to sketch this out at first, since its a lot easier to do without having to worry about shape and perspective and such.

(in theory i know wayyy too much about animation, but in practice im still struggling to do it bc i don't have much experience animating ekfhakdj- i do know the theory p well, which is why im hoping his lil explanation might help someone! Let me know if u guys want me to include some art theory lessons more often :D)

This is a propaganda poster totally normal info sheet about Joel Smallishbeans Week, otherwise known as 7 Holy Nights of Jeremy, welcoming fans new and old to participate in a week of prompts dedicated to the man himself, the smallest of beans and the tallest of Joels, Joel Smallishbeans! The event is run by @risibledeer, and uh, not to brag, but *checks nails all cool-like* I’m friends with her and stuff and she asked me to make this poster. So yeah. I’m basically really cool by proxy. Go check out Risi’s pinned post for the prompt list!

I’m confusing everyone who follows me except for the 1% in both fandoms, but : magic the gathering x Hermitcraft au. Working title is HC: Into the Blind Eternities because I think that sounds sick. I am doing this 90% percent because Joel’s base gives off massive Kamigawa vibes, so of course I had to start with him lol. I decided he would be a moonfolk and took inspiration from the card art on Tamiyo field researcher, Tameshi reality architect, and Moonfolk puzzle maker. The face got smudged but I managed to salvage it at the cost of him being way grayer than I intended. Oh well.

The funniest part about this either that fact that, ya know, he’s kinda stealing Pearl’s thunder what with the moon stuff (it’s okay we’ll find her another awesome role), or the fact that, if his hair looks like this, then he would have had to dye it brown first and then dye it green on top of that lol.

Another banger! The art is so good!!! It’s so goooooooooooddd! Ahhhhh! Words of affirmation go here! I am actually addicted to this concept.

Hi guys! Good news, I hucked my broken pencil at a wall in frustration, and it un-broke itself (mostly…), so I spent many hours making a boat boys animatic. Bad new, I don’t know how to sync audio, so I just had to record my iPad and play the song on a separate device. Its really bad quality guys (big sad), but I still think the actual animatic turned out pretty well, even if it’s still in the sketching phase. Anyway, the song is I Was an Island by John-Allison Weiss, go listen to it it’s so hilariously boat boys coded I can’t. Anyway, disclaimer, this is all for sillys and giggles. Also beware the angst.
