Tried to throw a butt ton of appearance headcanons into this. I would LOVE to share any other headcanons that come to mind if anybody wants.

&J dance studio au where anne, william and lance are teachers,angelique is like the 'front desk'/shop handler and juliet, may, frankie, romeo and all the other players are the dancers at the studio but everyone is kinda spreaded out through different classes/time slots and romeo is a transfer like mid year that juliet knew from a summer dance camp thing. Juliet and may take a tap/jazz class together but juliet also probably takes hip hop separately (which is where she and frankie kinda meet), and I feel may would take a contemporary class as well separately or just have taken one before. Romeo feels like he would do prolly a little of everything so he'd probably be involved alot in competition lines but still try and see the others as much as he could. Idk just a thought

My take on the modern &j au with april 🩷
Frankie goes nonverbal a lot, especially once he starts dating May because he doesn't have to mask nearly as much/at all, so May gets used to it. They're prepared to order Frankie's food at a restaurant for him, to tell Lance that "it's not a good day for singing", to declare that they're leaving a store because it's all just too much so Frankie doesn't have to. They don't even have to think twice about it, they just make sure Frankie is as comfortable as possible and make sure he knows how much they love him.
May gets used to it, but neither of them expect the day that May just suddenly can't talk and they can't explain why and is this what it's like for Frankie? They try to push through but can't, and when they can't support himself anymore, that's when Frankie steps up. He orders May's food and he tells Juliet "today's not a good day for singing" and he declares that they're leaving a store because it's all too much so that May doesn't have to.
And all May can think is how grateful they are to have such a loving partner and how they wish they could tell Frankie that but they just. can't. It makes them tear up in frustration. Frankie just looks over and smiles sadly. He squeezes their hand and tells them, "I know." And that makes May lose it, so they just stay at home the rest of the day and Frankie makes sure they're completely comfortable and they just spend the rest of the day snuggled up together, completely silent, but hearing each other better than ever before.

makai!frankie, khailah!juliet & reese!shakespeare
- khailah has crazy vocals. insane
- khailah was aggressive on 'what did he say, what did he do to you' which was great. ive noticed maya doesnt do that much but it's like my favourite thing ever
- khailah had a lot of energy, like she was sososo fun and silly, but makai was very awkward and it was so silly. 10x silliness & 10x scared
- on that note, makai was INSANE
- kissed a girl 2nd kiss was a makeout sesh. and frankie seemed so sad when it ended
- frankie looked sooo proud of himself after the first ikag kiss
- when cassie/'lucy' said "i didnt know he had a wife" reese made a slashing movement to get her to stop. like okay so this guy sucks
- khailah used aave a few times i think? i liked it
- at the end of whataya, frankie leaned in to kiss may and then shook his head and walked away
- makai and hayden were insane.
