After My 9th Reread I Have Finally Gotten Around To Making Fanart Of My Favourite Fic!

after my 9th reread i have finally gotten around to making fanart of my favourite fic!

before reading this i’d never imagined i would enjoy AUs as much as i do now✨

in case you haven’t already deduced from the title, it’s "I want something just like this" (DWTS AU) by @jazzfordshire

i included some scenes that really stuck with me (cooking together, disney week dance, kiss cam, ice cream, and the bike ride!)

anyway, hope y’all like it ;)

1st panel: Kara is napping on Lena's lap. She fell asleep while watching TV. Panel 2: Kara hears Lena's loud and rapid heartbeat and begins to wake. Panel 3: Kara gets up and Lena says, "Oh, you're awake." Panel 4: Kara grabs Lena's hand to soothe her. Panel 5: Lena tenses. Panel 6, 7, and 8: Close-ups of Lena's worried face, while Kara says, "You're overthinking again." Panel 9: Wide shot of Lena and Kara on the sofa. Kara is still holding Lena's hand while she asks, "What's on your mind?"
Panel 1: Lena still looks worried and begins to say, "I..." Panel 2: Kara looks at Lena expectantly. Panel 3: Lena continues, "You can't help me with this, Kara". Panel 4: Wide-shot of Kara's apartment. the TV is paused, Kara's seen sitting on the sofa. She tells her "You could let me try?". Panel 5: Lena pinches the bridge of her nose, looking pained. Panel 6: Close-up of the coffee table with their game of scrabble, an empty bowl of nachos and a few candles. Kara is fiddling with her hands and Lena is holding her glass of wine. Panel 7: Close-up of Lena sipping her wine. Panel 8: Lena says, "Yeah, work." It's clear that she doesn't mean it.
Panel 1: Lena is perched on the edge of the sofa. Her glass of wine is empty. She tells Kara, "It's quite late. I should get going." Panel 2: She gets up to go and Kara stares after her. Panel 3: Kara reaches for Lena's arm to stop her. "Lena, please," she says. Panel 4: Kara looks at Lena worriedly, still holding her arm. "Did I do something wrong?" she asks. Then she tells Lena, "You know you can talk to me, right?". Panel 5: Close-up of Lena's eyes, her eyebrows furrowed with hurt and worry. Panel 6: The same close-up of Lena's eyes, now showing tears gathering.
In the background of the entire comic page is a subtle drawing of Lena crying and covering her face. In front of that there are two cracked panels showing Lena's memories of Kara smiling at her. Lena's upset thoughts like "She doesn't love you, not like that.", "She's just a friend.", "Stop being so pathetic.", "You're ruining it.", and "Get it together." are scrawled across her now tainted memories of Kara. In the foreground, Kara hugs Lena tightly and protectively. "Whatever it is, I'm here, Lena" she tells her, "Right here."
