she’s smart, she’s protective, and she doesn’t want her little brother to know

she diverts their dad’s attention, his anger, towards her once she realized he’s literally advancing onto mitsuki— physically and verbally

odds are their dad would see hitting his child as a way to show “tough love” or “shaping them”, and judging from both reactions if this is the case it’s happened enough that neither flinch

so she brings their dad’s attention back to her, with her he seems more prone to yelling insults at her— probably because she’s a girl

she keeps her facade soft when talking to mitsuki, until he turns around and she faces off to where their father walked off

she does this intentionally, she’s smart and strategic. she knows mitsuki will protect her, but she also doesn’t want him to get hurt for or because of her. so she apologizes, she acts soft and doey eyed so it doesn’t seem suspicious when she does it, to either their dad or him. dad walks off, anger ended at her, her brothers not hurt.

i just have a lot of feelings about the kiryuu siblings now, and i am ready to file them away for character examples when i have to give reports using fictional characters in psych classes (i have had to do it 3x before and it’s always kinda fun) also as an older sister who grew up in a not great home i see a lot of younger me there

Besides, it seems that Sakura notices a change in Akari’s expression after the feud with her father 🤔 even if I have an idea what it means, I won’t be able to explain it better. I’ll just wait and see.
