This is unhinged but Luthen and Kleya have been going around and around in my head and I’ve figured it out. She’s not his wife or his boss she’s his MASTER.
This show is too deliberate with its choices for it not to mean something. Kleya’s red outfit when she meets Vel and tells her to terminate Andor. The way they have Starkiller Sith Amor in the front and the back of the shop and constantly shoot it over Luthen’s shoulder. The Jedi AND Sith holocrons.
They’re being cute with Luthens costume and his *WIIIIINK* cane but he said he did the math 15 years ago and that’s solidly Clone Wars. He saw the writing on the wall and did a Dooku and left the order. Eventually meets up with a Nightsister who wants to bring the Empire (and prolly Sheevy Palps personally) down for genociding her people.
Luthen doesn’t FALL to the dark side so much as saunters vaguely downwards. He does what he needs to do, the whole goddamn episode is about One Way Out and the dark side was his way and Kleya showed him how.
His whole ass monologue to Lonni starts with there is no peace only passion and runs right down to through power my chains are broken.
Andor is full of echoes echoes echoes of Rogue One - not cutesy winky winky Easter eggs - but resonances and I KNOW this show will end the way the movie did.
Luthen’s gonna draw his (RED!) saber BUT instead he’s gonna go full Kanan and save the rebellion.
