Remember how Kokushibou said that whenever he and Yoriichi talked about how their breathing styles have no successors, and Yoriichi suddenly becomes optimistic and smiles? I shared the same confusion with Kokushibou, on why Yoriichi seems quite delighted at such idea.
Then it struck me that probably means, having no need to teach breathing styles means no more demons. The Breathing style started as a way to enhance the body for Yoriichi, a way to utilise the body to become better in terms of movement and maybe health...before being seeing as a weapon. It's being weaponized. For greater good, granted, but still. And Yoriichi hates conflict.
Having no successors can be meant that breathing style is no longer needed because demons are gone. But there's a possibility it can be used for another intention, and Yoriichi, who has seen how greed and envy influenced his brother, guesses that breathing style could take a very, very bad turn.
A way to get the body stronger? Faster? For what purpose? Violence then, if not for demons slaying.
Yoriichi is probably grateful that the demon slayer organisation is a hidden one, a small community that has only a small splotch of corruption between the slayers from the difference in morals, and that not everyone believes in demons.
Breathing style can be used for a good cause...as it also can be weaponized for destruction.

I haven't figured out everyone's lore yet (lol) but here are the mermen of this AU and sea creatures they are based off, either from look or other traits.
(why Giyuu is an eel? Cause my first thought when I saw that eel was 'whats up with this dude' which is the same phrase when I first saw Giyuu)
Do you know that Tiger Shark eats almost anything? Kinda like Genya with demons, they're both gluttonous :)
I thought of having Gyomei with Basking Shark but I am still not sure.
There are a lot of things I am unsure about, like Douma cause my first choice was Crocodile Icefish and why is Yoriichi a small fish? Cause I said so (honestly Idk what to put him as)
I thought of Akaza as mantis shrimp cause they pack powerful punches tho hrmm I am not sure.

What was his name again? That boy had a twin too, right? They were with the Kakushi, but right now, as Nezuko wiped away her sweats, she noticed that this twin was alone and wasn't in an attire like the kakushi. Instead of the brown uniform set with masks, the boy wore something resembling a slayer's. He was sitting by himself on the porch, and despite the cloudy eyes, his eyebrows were furrowing as if he was in a deep thought.
Nezuko decided to greet him.
" Excuse me. " She said with a bright smile. " Hello, I am Nezuko. "
The boy snapped out of his trance, turning to look at her. He blinked, not responding to her for a moment before nodding.
" I know you. You're the slayer that carries a demon around. "
The girl scratched her cheek, her smile turned nervous. " Guess I don't really have a good reputation now, do I? You're one of the twin right? I've seen you working with the Kakushi. "
" Yes. I am Tokitou Muichiro. " The boy introduced himself.
Nezuko took a seat next to him. " If I may ask, why are you wearing a different uniform than before? Did the fabric tear or something? I can fix it! I am very good with needles and sewing! " She patted her chest confidently.
Muichiro tilted his head, a ghostly smile on his face as he looked down to his uniform. " The Moon Hashira gave it to me. He's...a relative. " His expression dropped, a rather sad pout made with his lips. " When my twin and I were toddlers, our parents were attacked by a demon. The Moon Hashira saved us and took us in. He started to train us to become slayers but then we decided to stop halfway and instead became a kakushi instead. "
" I am not one to judge, but why stopping halfway? " Nezuko wondered.
Muichiro sighed. " My brother suddenly claimed that he didn't want to become a slayer -- he also forbid me to become one too. The Moon Hashira -- Kokushibou -- respected out decision and let us be. But I know Kokushibou was disappointed. He saw potential in me and my twin. This uniform was a handmade for me when I become a slayer. It didn't happen, but I am wearing this right now because my kakushi uniform got dirty and is currently being hung under the sun. This is the only one clothing I have for now. "
" I see. " The dark-haired girl hummed. " So...since you went along with your brother, I guess you didn't want to become a slayer? "
Muichiro flinched, a single sweat dropped. He bit his lips and looked away, earning a suspicious look from Nezuko. She leaned forward a little, trying to get a better look on the boy.
"...You want to become a slayer? "
With hesitance, and very slowly, Muichiro nodded, glancing at her from his shoulders.
Nezuko frowned. " Then why didn't you say anything to your brother? To Kokushibou-san? "
" It's...not that easy, Nezuko. My brother -- Yuichiro -- I know that he means well and he always takes care of me...but he has a rather violent reaction. I am sure he would be angry if he knows that I am still willing to become a slayer. "
" Have you try talking to him? "
" I shrunk at the high volume of his voice whenever he yells. "
" Well, this is unfair to you! " Nezuko huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. " If your brother can't even listen to you, then I am going to make him! "
Muichiro's eyes widened at the sight of the girl going to her feet, a stern expression on her face as she placed her hands on her hips. He unconsciously grabbed the sleeve of her shirt, tugging her back down.
" I don't think that would be wise. " He reasoned, still surprised at how she immediately decided to face Yuichiro to defend him.
Nezuko turned, slipped her hands around the boy's hands and held it firmly. " If it's not me who do the talking, then you will! You have a voice to defend your right! It's the heart that drives the people, Muichiro. If your heart tells you to follow the path of being a slayer, then follow your heart! "
She patted his shoulder encouragingly. " You can do this! I wish you good luck! All right, I need to go back to training or Douma-san will hunt me down. See you again, Muichiro! Oh, and if your brother still refuses to listen to you, then tell me and I'll go straight to him."
The girl turned and walked away. Muichiro stuttered a little and stumbled in his steps as he stood up. " Wait! W-What will you do if you have to go see my brother? "
Nezuko turned around. " I'll make sure to talk some sense into him! Everyone has the right to voice out their opinions. You have the right to decide what you want to be, Muichiro. You can be whatever you want to. No one else should tell you what you have to be. Just you. "
When she gave him a smile, it was as if the air was knocked out of his lungs. Is it the lighting? She looked as twice as beautiful than the first time he saw her. Muichiro felt his neck getting warmer, noticing there was an increasing beating of his heart in his chest.
" Take care! " Nezuko waved her arm, disappearing into a corner.
Muichiro looked down to his uniform, his hands twisting the fabric in his grips. He closed his eyes and steadied his breathing. One last deep inhale and exhale, he opened back his eyes and a flash of determination were seen in his eyes.
Time to seek Yuichiro.
Roleswap AU

An AU where Tanjirou is the demon and Nezuko is the slayer. In my version, Tanjirou and Nezuko went down the mountain together to sell charcoals and handmade herb medicine that the Kamado family began to produce for a while. Tanjirou had sold all of his charcoals so Nezuko told him to return home first while she went to finish her items. Reluctantly, her older brother did so. Now it was already late, and Nezuko had to crash in Saburo's house for the night.
You guys know the drill; she came home to find only Tanjirou alive and had to drag him down to the town when he transformed into a demon. The Kamado siblings then found themselves facing a slayer goes by the name 𝘚𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘰.
Later on, after being given the chance to prove Tanjirou being a good demon, Nezuko set off on an adventure to find cure for her brother.
Kanao and Kaigaku become Nezuko's friends and they became life time trio
Tanjirou grown attached to Kanao, making the young girl rather flustered at such doting
Nezuko possesses very strong kicks! Her first fight with Kaigaku was resolved with her slamming her foot up to his body part where the sun does not rise.
Kaigaku might not be able to have children, rip.
Tanjirou's Blood Demon Art is Fire Manipulation. He can breath fire and heal people too. His berserk form has a horn pops out of his left part of the forehead where his scar is, and there are flame marks on his body.
Hakuji stabbed Tanjirou to see if the demon would attack him -- never happened.
Muichiro and Yuichiro are alive as the youngest kakushi, Mui being a kind but quiet twin while Yuichiro is the loud but anxious one.
The twin have potential to even become Hashiras but Yui keep refusing, only becoming Kakushi because feels indebted to Mitchikatsu who saved them before.
Muichiro wants to become a slayer but doesn't have the courage to say it to his twin.
" Follow your heart! " Nezuko said to Muichiro, resulting the boy to fall for her.
Tanjirou once headbutt Yuichiro for his foul language and harsh treatment to Nezuko
Muzan is still an asshole but he's a tsundere that secretly worries for his slayers
Kagaya is also still gentle and soft spoken but he's very manipulative to his Uppermoons
Giyuu is dead lol, he was the ghost boy that helped Nezuko trained
Sabito and Makomo are both Water Hashiras
Gyomei is Uppermoon One, but there's an Uppermoon Zero, which is Yoriichi.
Yoriichi looks like a porcelain doll with 3 pair of arms.
I might do some changing, but these are what I could come up with so far.

I just noticed that Nazra is my only OC without being shipped with anyone
She's fine, she has her cooking skills and cats
I am not particularly fond of how some people portray Yoriichi to be obsesses with Mitchikatsu/Kokushibou.
Like, yes, he really loves his brother. Mitchikatsu and their mother are the only ones who shows him family affection and love. Of course Yoriichi loves them both dearly. But to the point of obsession? Yeesh.
I don't like how some portray Yoriichi to be super clingy with Mitchikatsu/Kokushibou, or tries to make his brother stay with him all the time, being a yandere to his brother and glare at others who try to get close to him. Not to mention some even ship them! They're brothers!
Okay, so,
When Yuichiro died, he passed with his body facing down.
When Muichiro died, he was standing.
When Yoriichi died, he was standing.
When Kokushibou/Mitchikatsu died, he was on his knees ( I think ) as he crumbled away.
I feel like the way Yuichiro and Kokushibou death position means something like, " It's over, I gave up. I couldn't even accomplish something I've been longing for, no matter how hard I tried. I don't care anymore, just take me now. "
Because Yuichiro couldn't protect Muichiro, and Kokushibou couldn't surpass Yoriichi.
Meanwhile, Muichiro and Yoriichi position feels something like, " I tried my best. Even if my part has little effect, at least it's something. I worked hard. I tried. I couldn't finished what I intended to, but I hope I have left something effective. "
Muichiro didn't managed to finish Kokushibou fully, but he gave him a large damage and died standing with his hands clutching his sword into Kokushibou's torso. Yoriichi died standing as well, not being able to fully finish Kokushibou, but still clutching his sword and gave enough damage for the opponent.
And all of their life, their only mind was occupied about their brother. What to do with them, how do I protect them, how can I surpass him, etc.
Just their brother.

" I am going to rot in here."
Kokushibou gave you a tiny glance as he stock in another book into the fantasy-labeled shelf. It was quiet rare for you to express what you were thinking since you were usually so quiet. Perhaps because you've known him for a few months and hung out with him more often than other workers in the bookstore, that you became more opened up to him.
" Why did I even chose this work?" You continued, handing him another book to be put in.
" Then why did you?" He questioned, finished with the section and pushed the cart to the children section.
Trailing behind him while pushing another cart, you said, " Money, Kokushibou. It's also hard to find a part-time job, you know? I am also trying to keep up with college's work."
He didn't replied and that was the end of your conversation as you both continued to stock the books in the section. Boredom grew and grew inside you as time passed by. This work seemed dull to you, but at least you were paid. Once you have enough money and finished college, you quit immediately.
You glanced at Kokushibou. If it wasn't for him, you'd have quit long ago. He was quiet, perhaps even more than you being quiet, but skillful and fast in managing things. Your friendship with him started with him helping you adjusting to the work by the manager's order, only for a friendship to bloom between both of you. Being observant, not only you noticed how good he is in working, but also his attractiveness.
Kokushibou has a long, spiky black hair tied in a ponytail; dark eyes and pale skin. His name ' Kokushibou ' was a name when he was on a work shift. When he finished, he was called Mitchikatsu. You found out about this from his twin brother, Yoriichi, that often visiting the store to give a lunch box to his brother.
If you could rate his attractiveness, you'd give a 9/10. His sombre expression gave off an intimidating and scary vibes that sometimes scared away the customers. Probably the reason he wasn't in charge of the counter.
" Just how bored are you that you keep staring at me?"
You jumped, caught by the man. Looking away and trying to hide the little redness on your cheeks, you said nothing. Kokushibou stared at you for a few seconds before sighing.
" Let's...play a game."
" Huh?" You turned to him, eyes widened.
This man, who looked like he doesn't know the definition of fun, was inviting you to play a game?
Kokushibou put up a finger, " In an hour, both of our shift will be done and we are also in charge of closing the store for today. By one-hour, let's stock these books in the sections quickly. The one who finished first gets to be treated a meal by the one who loses."
How... interesting.
Despite taken back by how a bit weird he was acting, his offer was tempting. Instead of spending one-hour restocking the books in boring atmosphere, why not turned it into something more challenging and exciting?
You hummed, " A meal from a restaurant?"
" Includes a dessert."
" Deal."
And with that, both of you started the challenge just as quick as it started.

You've almost done, only one more book to be put in the adult section. But it seemed that Kokushibou was also heading to the same section. Unfortunately, he was more quicker than you in speed, as he easily ran passed you to the section.
Not wanting to lose, you reached out one hand and grabbed his apron holding him back.
The man looked over his shoulders, " That's cheating, (Y/N)."
" There's no condition set anyway!" You pulled the stings off so the apron would fall off to distract him.
While it certainly did, as Kokushibou stepped on the apron and slipping to the ground, he managed to grab your ankle to let you meet the same fate as his. Loud thump sound echoed in the store when both workers fell onto the floor. Kokushibou was the first to get up, already sprinting past you, but then noticed that you didn't move.
" (Y/N)?" He stopped. " (Y/N)." He called again but there was no response.
Panic starting to fill inside him as he dropped his book and went back to you, forcing himself to calm down and maintain the situation --
In the form action of sike, you grabbed his apron on the floor nearby and threw it to his face before going on your feet and dashed towards the section.
"(Y/N)!"
Oh, you knew you were so in trouble at the tone of his voice, but that still didn't stopped you from putting in the book in the shelf to claim your victory. Once you done, you turned around and faced your co-worker who had a visible irritation on his face.
" Are you mad that I used dirty tricks?" You gulped, taking a step back at how intimidating he was.
Kokushibou didn't answer. He grabbed your shoulders, forcing you to stay put as he used another hand to lift your chin and moved your head sideways. It then clicked inside you that he was checking for any injuries.
" I am okay," you said, blushing at how close and touchy he was, " I was just pretending. You know me, I like taking risks."
" Don't do that again." He warned.
" Don't tell me what to do."
"...." Sighing, he let you go and looked away. " I was...worried for a second back there."
Realizing that you really did scaring this man into thinking that you were injured, you immediately felt guilty.
" Look -- I am sorry, Kokushibou. I won't do anything that hurt myself."
He looked at you. " You can't promise that."
" But I can try."
There was a moment of silence as you both stared at each other. Kokushibou put a hand over his face and you were taken back once again at the sight of his shoulders moving as he let out a short chuckle.
" Well," a small smile was on his face, " you won, anyway. Congratulations. So, does 8 p.m. tonight good for me to take you to your meal reward?"
You smiled back, " Yeah. That's good."
As you both did final clean up in the store, something occured to you as you took off your apron.
"...Hey, Kokushibou..." You slowly began, "...correct me if I am wrong...but...the game and the meal as a reward...were you trying to ask me out or something?"
And without even turning around as he locked the back door, Kokushibo replied, " Will you reject me if I say yes?"
" No."
" Then, yes."
