monoma and izuku are litterally THE audhd boyfriends in the whole world.

Fic idea where monoma goes to the support course to talk about how to improve his costume and quirk and stuff and midoriya goes "THANK GOD YOURE HERE YOUR QUIRK IS SO COOL AND YOURE USING IT ALL WRONG AND AND" and then midoriya like lifts a giant chunk of metal off the ground because the support course room is a mess and monoma goes 'oh my god he's so strong. And he's smart and he likes my quirk. And he's cute.' And then suddenlyyyy monoma is having problems with his costume every dayyyy and needs to see the support course oh nooooo

Monodeku modern midoriya is a super sweet buff frat boy and monoma is a kinda rude loser science nerd and they're college roommates

Monoma has a huge crush on midoriya but he refuses to admit it because what kind of person would he be if he was in love with the guy everyone on campas was in love with who was ALSO a frat boy.

Midoriya thinks monoma is pretty and loves banter with him <3 but he also slowly realizes they have a lot in common after midoriya reads one of monomas essays over his shoulder

He'd be like "yo no way!!! You're also into physics? I'm actually kinda into it myself!!"

And monoma goes "no fucking way."

And then midoriya goes on some nerd rant and monoma is like "that... actually....made so much sense" and midoriya is like "well duh did you think I was all muscle and no brain?"

Monoma is quiet for a bit and midoriya is like "Dude." In an exasperated tone and then from that point toward monoma discusses his essays and homework with midoriya on all types of science because as he finds out, midoriya is just a nerd with giant muscles

AND THENNN they bound of mutual childhood mistreatment from peers and monoma is steadily like "okay maybe it's okay to have a crush on this guy.." and the whole time midoriya is just

"FUCK YEAHHHHH TIME WITH THE HOT BLOND GUY"

The day monodeku becomes such a popular ship is has to be shortened like tddk or bkdk is the day I ascend to heaven

Monodeku idol au where monoma is a popular idol and midoriya is a loser fanboy but one day monoma stops by the library midoriya works at (in disguise) and relentlessly flirts with him

MONOMA PREFORMING AND JUST HE HEARS A REALLY LOUD SCREAMING ABOVE EVERYONE ELSE LOOKS OUT AND SEES. SOME GREEN HAIRED FREAK ABSOLUTELY DECKED OUT IN HIS MERCH. but for a split second he's like. "hey this guy is kinda cute...just a bit..."

And then like two days later he's walking into the library cause bro likes to read and he sees some really attractive and buff guy with green hair who then turns around and he's like "OH MY GOD. THAT'S THE GUY FROM MY CONCERT."

But because monoma is a loser boy himself he keeps his disguise on and slides up to midoriya with his library card and goes "heyyy hot stuff come here often" and midoriya is like "yeah dude I work here" and for a few minutes monoma just sucksss at flirting and then he gets the hang of it and absolutely flusters the ever loving fuck out of midoriya

And then at monomas next concert midoriya has back stage tickets to meet monoma and during this meeting monoma flirts with him again but midoriya just assumes monoma does this for all his fans

And so monoma is like "listen. I'm not supposed to do this. But here's my number" and midoriya is like "I COULDN'T POSSIBLY TAKE THIS I RESPECT YOU TOO MUCH" and mentally monoma is like 'oh my gooood cute library guy for the love of god.'

Theennn back at the library, that monoma has begun frequenting, monoma slides midoriya his number and is like "you're VERY attarcive." And midoriya blushes while taking the paper and babbling.

I imagine one day midoriya invites monoma over to his house, still unaware of who he is, and inside his home is so much fucking idol monoma shit

Monoma is like "damn you really like this guy huh" and midoriya is like "yeaahh he's so dreamy sighhhhh"

Reveal probs goes like this

Monoma: baby, you know that idol you're supeeerrr into?

Midoriya: yeah?

Monoma: that's ME

Midoriya: WHAT. HUH. OH MY GOD IM SO EMBARRASSED YOUVE SEEN MY HOUSE

Monoma bullied for having a quirkless quirk

They took this bullying in two ways but they both can like get together and work with each other and help one and other to get over their low self esteem and just jsjgudijd<33

Monodeku has taken over my brain the worms are eroding my brain so hard.

Monodeku villain au but it's monoma as a villain who's actually just a guy who happens to be friends with a bunch of bad people

Like monoma actually hasn't partaken in anything he is just nearby and hangs out with villains (yeah that's illegal whatevez)

But because midoriya is a hero student they run into each other a lot.

I see this au taking place like 2nd or 3rd year so midoriya has his hero license and can like do stuff without needed a teacher nearby

So he goes on patrol and monomas villain friends are like "oh my GOD there's hero boy you're in love with" and monoma freaks out and is like "I'm not IN LOVE with him...does my hair look okay?"

And one day midoriya is busting a drug deal of some of monomas friends and he's trying (and failing) to casually lean on the wall and is like "sup hot stuff...come here often?" And midoriya is like "what the fuck"

He then detains monoma but monoma is set free later cause like he really didn't do anythingggg

And midoriya sees monoma again and is like "dude??"

Midoriya goes to Twitter to vent about his strange reoccurring non-villain villain and it becomes a thing that people are SOOO supportive of monoma and his now very obvious flirting with midoriya

Because everytime they see each other monoma says some shitty pickup line or tries to hit on midoriya and midoriya goes home to tweet about it because he's oblivious

UNTILL ochaco is like "midoriya. Hes flirting" and midoriya is like "OH MY GOD."

And then he begins to flirt back but nothing really happens untilll monoma actually ends up carrying drugs for a friend and midoriya detains him again and is like "we have to stop meeting like this" and gives monoma a paper with his number a place and date on it

Monoma is a photographer and midoriya is a model

Monoma is at every one of midoriyas shows and midoriya once saw him in the crowd and it was love at first sight

He has to refrain from smiling while walking on the runway when he sees monoma

In an interview midoriya was once asked if he was seeing anyone and he went "I see this pretty blonde in my dreams /sigh/ he also goes to all of my shows!"

On the other hand monoma is a really low ranking photographer and he was a last ditch effort by his company to try and hit big

His first job was the one where he first saw midoriya but monoma takes fire ass photos and so his company went "keep doing what ur doing king." But monoma was like "I just wanna keep going to shows with this model he's gorgeous"

How did you get into Monodeku? Like, how'd you discover the ship? For me it was the fic better luck next time.

Better luck next time is SO GOOD UGH I think I've been through the entire midoriya/monoma and midoriya&monoma AO3 tags like 200 times

But!! I got into into monodeku through lovespelts (on Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr) art<3

They only have one (that I know of) piece of art of them but I saw it inn 2021 and I fell in LOVEE with them!!

If I remember right though allll the way back in like 2018 I saw monoma as a part of a random dekubowl post and I was like "huh they're kinda cute I guess" that was my first exposure to them!

GOD monodeku where midoriya tells all of his friends that theyre like in the talking stage and monoma goes between telling his friends that theyre “just friends” and that theyre “basically dating”

MONOMA AND MIDORIYA AS ROOMMATES. 

theyre roomates but its like comical how obviously in love they are. like monoma HATESSS midoriya and tells him every chance he gets. monoma and midoriya have supposedly hateful banter but its actually just them flirting. and monoma tells all of his friends that he doesnt like midoriya and all of his friends are like “yeah. sure.” and then kendou goes “what if midoriya doesnt actually hate you and instead thinks youve been flirting with him this whole time” which. midoriya does. except some part of midoriya knows monoma isnt seriously flirting with him so he takes it with a reluctant grain of salt. and then one day while in the midst of their banter monoma goes “I AM NOT FLIRTING.” and midoriya loses it giggling. then they kiss and the next day all of monomas friends are like “WE TOLD YOU.”

monodeku actor au where they are supposed to act like they hate each other on set cause yk, monoma hates 1-A. But, they’re not very good at it and fans can tell. In the background where monoma and Midoriya are, you can tots see them flirting. plus whenever monoma has to deliver a line to Midoriya specifically it always has undertones that it should not have. like why do you sound romantic saying that he’s a piece of 1-A scum. 

the entire sports festival arch is a mess in this au. every time Midoriya is in a scene you can see monoma in the background ogling him and it’s actually kinda funny. the final cut of one of the episodes accidentally left in a bit where Midoriya does something and Monoma was so busy staring at him that he full-on faceplants. they just. didn’t cut that out. 

and during the cavalry battle you can totally see team monoma run by team midoriya more than once obviously intentionally and each time he says something to midoriya which results in midoriya making a scandalized face while ochaco has to stop herself from giggling. 

ugh and what if monoma was initially meant to make it into the 1v1 fights but the producers saw how he and midoriya were and decided that actually team kendou should make it instead. they didn’t want a homo fight on their hands. 

and like that one scene they show where monoma is taunting iida, ochaco, and midoriya at lunch had to be reshot several times because monoma could NOT get his lines out without it sounding like hes actually asking midoriya out. like at one point he fully leans on the chair midoriya is sitting at the and the director goes “bro. are you serious right now.” 

monoma can play the piano and midoriya is madly in love with him 

Midoriya, offhandedly: yeah I’ve really been into genshin lately 

monoma: fucking incel. 

also monoma, 5 minutes later: where do I buy a genshin impact cosplay. 

Midoriya: heres a blanket, you looked cold. 

Monoma: fuck you. 

Midoriya and monoma being stuck in the back of a police car together would be really funny because monoma would be like 

“this is your fault idiot class 1-A student with no self preservation”

 and midoriya would go “what was i supposed to do??? Watch that man commit a crime???”

 and monoma would go “CALL THE POLICE IDIOT” 

and midoriya would go “WE ARE HERO STUDENTS” and monoma would go

 “YEAH. NOT VIGILANTES” and they would keep fighting back and forth and the police officer in the front (probs tsukauchi if were being honest) would go “please for the love of god stop flirting I cant take it” 

Midoriya and Monoma at a carnival except its not them on a cute date and instead its Midoriya working as a carny at one of those stupid carnival games and monoma going “WHAT A FUCKING LOSER GET A LOAD OF THIS GUY” and then spending all of his money on the game midoriya is working at trying to impress him.

Monodeku au where they go to a school that specializes in different types of art and Midoriya is a drawing/painting student and monoma is a dancer. Midoriya often sketches all of the dancers when he sees monoma and is like “Woah.” from that day forward all he does is sketch monoma. It gets so bad that he finds himself just absentmindedly drawing monoma. At one point he had painted monoma for a project in class and Ochaco goes “Doesn’t that kinda look like that one dancer kid?” and Midoriya is all like “WHAT EVER COULD YOU BE TALKING ABOUT HA HA HA” and then Ochaco just. Knows. 

She makes fun of him for the rest of the school year. Theenn when the drawing/painting kids have their art show, monoma drops by and is like “Woah this painting kinda looks like me…wait a minute…a lot of this art kinda looks like me…” and then he looks at who the art was by and is like “who tf is midoriya?” anddd then monoma slams the door of the art room open during class and is like “which one of you is midoriya” and ochaco is like “omg its pretty dancer boy” and smacks midoriyas shoulder while the rest of the class is pointing at him. Monoma is like “come, we have to talk” and so midoriya scampers after him. Monoma is like “why are you painting and drawing me?” and midoriya comes up with some shit explanation like “well you have the most angular shoulders of all of the dance kids and I like to draw that and stuff so…yeah…” and during that explanation monoma is like “hes kinda cute…” and so they have this wholllle issue of having huge crushes on each other. 

THEN kendo comes up to ochaco and is like “I know you dont know me but we have to do something. Im tired of him swooning over midoriya at our lunch table.” and ochaco is like “WE SHOULD GET THEM TO ASK EACH OTHER OUT” and kendo is like “obvi but how”  and then they get up to silly little hijinks trying to get the monoma and midoriya to go out UNTIL one day midoriya just impulsively decides “im gonna do it today” and he DOES and monoma says YES.

Is it just me or am I the only one who thinks of monodeku as damain x anya. I mean it makes sense! Just imagine Izuku looking at Monoma like Anya does to Damain, Monoma would be like 'why am l feeling this way? Why is my heart beating so fast?'

While it's just because Izuku looked at him with his puppy eyes, and Monoma had already melted at the ball of cuteness infront of him.

I somehow came across your blog and it was a blast from the past! I used to be one of the original Monodeku fic writers (I think I unironically posted the first or second fic focused exclusively on them) and it’s so nice to see people who still like them! :D I haven’t been into BNHA in foreveeeer, I hope Monoma has gotten more screentime since then

I've read through their tag on AO3 so many times and all of the fics are good! Honestly I just think anything with monodeku is brilliant :)

And Monoma HAS gotten so much more screentime! Still not as much as I would like (I love monoma so much.) But he got a whole backstory scene and he plays a big part in more recent things!!

I've said it before but I'll always hc that they have matching nails always! Usually in the color of the others hair but sometimes they go with pink and black or yellow and purple :)

Monoma is terrified of bugs and midoriya is the type to put them outside

When they become pros and move in together they get a cat :(<3 his name is paper towel

Midoriya has an irregular heart beat so monoma likes to lay his head on his chest and listen to it

The two of them like to do yoga together<3

Midoriya gets an average 3 hours of sleep a night unless he's in the general vicinity of Monoma. Then he gets the normal 8 hours or more.

Midoriya likes to braid Eri's hair and sometimes Monoma will ask to have his hair braided too. Eri usually puts hair clips in Monomas hair while Midoriya braids it.

Every two weeks Monoma and Midoriya take Eri to the zoo (with Aizawas supervision)

Monoma writes long letters because he's not good at verbally expressing how he feels while Midoriya will just lay his head on Monomas shoulder and rant for hours about how pretty he finds Monoma.
