Your gateway to endless inspiration
терапевт /tʲɪrɐˈpʲeft/ noun, general – physician, general practitioner
У кабинета терапевта собралась очередь. A queue gathered at the therapist’s office.
Please note therapist in Russian would be психотерапевт, without that психо-part, it is just a GP.
This is the Day Two of the handwriting challenge. Join us if you haven’t yet! Here is more info about the challenge. Here is the Day 1 word.
This week, let’s honor healthcare workers.
медсестра /mʲɪtʲ͡sʲsʲɪˈstra/ noun, feminine – (medicine) nurse
Во время пандемии медсёстры работают, не покладая рук. During the pandemic, nurses work tirelessly.
Handwriting challenge reminder: reblog the word of the day with your handwriting added to the post and win a prize! More details on the challenge here.
Okay, we are launching a new challenge so that you won’t get too bored being at home all the time. This time, it is a handwriting challenge!
For the next seven days, I will post a word of the day at 6 AM Eastern Time (EDT) every day. Just as usual.
You write a word of the day by hand, preferably in Russian cursive, take a photo of it and reblog the word of the day with your handwriting. Step by step instruction:
1. Check a word of the day here on Proper Russian
2. Write it down on paper - preferably in cursive
3. Reblog the word of the day post with your handwriting added.
4. Repeat for the next 6 day, one week total
5. Get a prize: 100 most frequent Russian nouns - vocabulary card set (pdf, hi-res, printable)
I decided not to send out any physical items this time, because I don’t want to overload the postal services during the pandemic. Instead, I’ll send the printable pdfs to everyone who dares to participate.
Do you dare to practice Russian handwriting?
Good luck!
P.S.: I think it is going to be fun. My Russian handwriting is butt ugly, so the chances are your handwriting is better. Don’t be shy!
