Deciding that I missed this blog. Headcannons to celebrate.
The Ocean's Crew almost always live together in one big house during their planning phases. Sometimes they crash at Rueben's mansion, sometimes they all stay in adjoining rooms at a cheap hotel, and sometimes Danny has the money for an AirB&B.
When they do all live together, Rusty is the one who decides where everyone goes. Because of this, he gets hounded and bribed for weeks on end before move-in day because: Saul's very strong living preferences are always changing, Livingston's allergies mean he can't stand rooming with half the crew, Frank needs his own bathroom, if they bring Tess then everyone is going to want to room with Tess, Yen wants to be closest to the kitchen and simultaneously on one of the higher floors, Basher is very particular about who he simply will not room with, Linus has about a million asks (both said and unsaid), Danny wants to be wherever his scheming mind can scheme a little more, and nobody ever wants to room with the twins.
Rueben never has to tell Rusty his preferences. He knows that Rusty will put him where he likes best.
Rueben's butler knows them all by name and never needs to be asked what they want for breakfast.
When they live together they come up with random, stupid family rules like "if you're late for dinner, you have to sing 'I'm a little teapot' backwards" or "if you track mud through the house you have to do the dishes." The twins invented most of these rules just to mess with Linus but they become a staple of every good heist.
Domesticities like Taco Tuesday are mandatory.
If there is a pool, Basher will be in it. It gets to the point where Danny has to bribe staff to put less chlorine in it so Basher's skin doesn't dry out like a raisin.
Everyone gauges how well things are going by Rusty's nighttime routine. If he announces after dinner that he's going to bed by 9 or 10, it is defcon 5 and everyone should be tense.
Frank has jazz playing 24/7.
If they're staying at a hotel, they have to attack breakfast in the lounge restaurant in meticulous phases. Danny always goes first to get the freshest coffee. Rusty always goes last because he eats the most. Someone always has to go with Saul to make sure he's not upping his cholesterol.
Yen puts Mandarin subtitles on all of the TVs. He can understand English movies perfectly fine but it helps the rest of the crew learn Mandarin.
Everybody's making Rusty Ryan a dog. A fucking DOG.
No, ofc he's not a dog. But he's a dog.
In the back of my mind, I've always somehow knew that he's Danny's no1 loyal dog.
And now everybody's giving him dog manners.
And I fucking love that (sorry not sorry).

In Oceanโs Trilogy, Rusty's always dressed to kill. You look at him and you know he understands what heโs wearing and why. Slim-fit suits, bold color choices that still look classy, layering done with surgical precision. Unbuttoned silk shirts, designer shades, luxury watches โ heโs cool without trying too hard.
Meanwhile Danny plays it safe with his classic suits. And Linusโฆ oh my god, Linusโฆ the sweaters, the gray jackets โhe looks like a lost office intern =)) And NOBODY EVEN SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT LINUS FASHION TASTE, while Rusty wears one slightly crinkled silk shirt and suddenly heโs โdressed like a dumpster fireโ ๐ฅฒ๐
To sum it up: Rustyโs fashion is chaotic but curated. Itโs loud, yes. But it slaps. If Rusty isnโt stylish, then who is??
sometimes I wonder why y'all are obsessed with specific characters and I'm like "why them" but then I remember that sometimes its literally not your choice you just look at them wrong and all of a sudden they're taking up your every thought forever

Honestly, every single fic about Danny/Rusty (Ocean's Trilogy) might just be the most beautiful thing to ever exist on this planet. I mean, George Clooney and Brad Pitt are already some of the most stunning human beings to ever walk the Earthโno one even comes close. (Pitt was the first of the two to grace PEOPLEโs Sexiest Man Alive cover in 1995. Clooney followed in 1997 and 2000, and then Pitt made a legendary comeback in 2006!!!)
But I swear, the words that Ocean's fanfic writers craft about Danny/Rusty are even more exquisite than the actors themselves. No, Iโm not exaggerating. Youโd understand if you ever let yourself fully absorb and appreciate the sheer beauty woven into their writing. These works are filled with deep psychological character studies, layered with scenes where the two of them explore each otherโs bodies after pulling off history-making heists.
Itโs the ABSOLUTE PEAK of everything. Or honestlyโif thereโs a word beyond โpeak,โ thatโs what it is.
Their words have the power to reach straight into the heart of any readerโlike a path of flowers leading gently toward the deepest corners of the soul, like cool spring water flowing through the mind.
There is no such thing as a bad Danny/Rusty ficโno matter the tone, length, or styleโhas something special to offer. Iโve never been disappointed. Every single one is a gift. I love every bit them (Seriously. I might end up quoting the entire fic because every line made me feel SO MUCH emotions).
As someone whoโs read, reflected on, and mentally archived a considerable number of Danny/Rusty fics, I can say this with full pride: this fandom, though it may be a tiny grain of sand in the vast ocean of the internet, is truly one of the most precious things out thereโa place where fanfic writers are among the most gifted, most intuitive, and most emotionally literate creators Iโve ever seen.
