Comic page featuring Usopp and Sanji from one piece getting dressed. They stand in the boys room of the Merry. Sanji is looking at himself in a mirror, feeling agitated he thinks “could it be any bigger” referring to the lightning scar across his chest that he looks at with a sour expression.

Second comic page. Sanji trails his hand across his scar thinking “I mean seriously”. Usopp walks up behind Sanji smiling and saying “checking out the new battle scars now that the bandages are off?” Sanji tugs his shirt closed and says “something like that”. In the next panel Usopp joins Sanji looking at the mirror with a fond expression, he says “pretty cool right?” Sanji responds with some attitude “that’s easy for you to say. Just look at the SIZE of this thing”. Usopp awkwardly turns saying “…well, the one on my back is a little bigger than the other one” revealing a scar that goes down the length of his back. Sanji looks in shock thinking to himself “he has two!?”

Comic page three. Sanji looks embarrassed as he sighs. He says “sorry, it’s just- HOW are they not bothering you?” Usopp averts his eyes as he replies “I wouldn’t say they don’t bother me but-“ he starts messing with the lightning scar on his chest “I doubt they’ll stay for long, I don’t think I scar easily” in the next panel Sanji looks a bit dejected as he says “I do” Usopp looks at him a little surprised. In the last couple panels usopp tries to cheer Snaji up saying “well if you do scar you have a great story to go with it” he looks down reaching towards something as he says “besides-“

Comic page four. Usopp reaches towards Sanji’s chest in a stylized panel that shows spark like imagery extending from Usopp’s hand as he gets closer. Usopp says “I think they actually look king of-“ Sanji suddenly pulls away in the next panel with a dramatic shriek and the sparks disappear, Sanjis shriek makes Usopp jump. Sanji complains saying “you-you-you startled me! I wasn’t expecting you to reach out all of a sudden” Sanji has his shirt pulled shut tightly. Usopp looks surprised and in disbelief as he said “no way” the last panel of the page shows Sanji beginning to get nervous as Usopp talks. Usopps speech bubble reads “THE blackleg Sanji is-“

Comic page five. Usopp looks down at Sanji mischievously with his hands outstretched towards Sanji Usopps speech bubble reads “ticklish” while Sanjis reads “wait.” The next panel shows Usopp tickling Sanji miraculously as Sanji lets out a bunch of laughter. Usopp tried blackmailing Sanji by saying “I get out of dish duty for a week and you go free” between laughs Sanji replies “ah-okay! Yes fine” usopp frees him and Sanji lets a few last small chuckles out as Usopp speaks “you’ve been giving in so quickly lately. Pretty soon I’ll be getting out of all my chores” Sanji smiles at Usopp responding with “I don’t know, you buckle pretty quickly too, you always chip in anyway”

Comic page six. Usopp teases as he finishes putting his overalls on “hmm I have no idea what you mean. I take these deal of ours very seriously. Sanji smiles at usopp fondly before he snaps back to reality, looking down at his scars again. When he looks away he asks Usopp one more question “but really, do you think they’ll fade?” Usopp looks away as he puts the last few bits of his outfit on, he says “hmm- it’s hard to tell” in the last panel of the page they’re facing away from one another again. Sanji putting on his jacket and Usopp his Scarf. Usopp finally answers “maybe” with a sad expression and Sanji respond with “I hope so” his expression unreadable’

Comic page seven. The setting has changed, post time skip Usopp and Sanji are now laying on the deck of the Sunny. The first panel shows Sanjis hand, specifically his finger swirling and tracing around Usopps scarred chest. The second panel shows part of his face laying on Usopp’s chest as he continues tracing over his chest. The last panel shows Usopp sitting up with a flustered nervous smile as he says “Sanji- do you mind?”

Comic page eight. Sanji suddenly sits up looking flustered and says “what? I was just looking at the scars!” Usopp responds with a smug expression saying “likely story.” In the next couple panels Sanji rolls his eyes at Usopps teasing before laying back down beside him. Sanjis speech bubble reads “y’know- they still look as fresh as they were in skypiea. In the last panel Usopp smiles fondly as he says “yeah…sometimes I swear I can still feel the sparks. A lighter fuzzier version”

Comic page nine. Sanji looks at Usopp with wide eyes. The panel is stylized making it look as if Sanji is glowing with sparks, Usopps speech bubbles read “mostly- when I’m with you” in the next panel the stylization is gone and Usopp jokingly says “or when my life flashes before my eyes in a fight” Sanji smirks and responds with “wow. How romantic.” In the next panel Sanji pulls his shirt down a little to reveal his lightning scars. His speech bubbles read “I used to check every morning to see if they were finally fading” the last panel shows Sanji reaching to hold Usopps hand as he looks up at the sky. Usopp looks at him with a slightly surprised expression. Sanjis speech bubbles read “I still check, but the reason is different now”

Comic page ten, the final page. The page shows Usopp and Sanji on the deck of the sunny looking up at the starry night sky. There are three panels above them. One shows each of their lightning scarred chests, the next shows their chests with each of their hands reaching out towards the other, and the last shows Usopp and Sanjis smiling eyes looking at each other. The text reads Sanji: “do you think they’ll still be this clear in another two years?” Usopp: “it’s hard to tell, maybe” Sanji: “I hope so”

IT’S MY SANUSO-VERSARY🎉 a year ago today I posted my first fanart of sanuso on my twt, I had no idea what was coming…

Anyway, to celebrate I thought a comic about a fan fav headcanon (the lightning scars) and my interpretation of them would be fun^^

Franky: Oh man! Is that all you wanted to tell me? Well, I like you too, Robin!

Franky: Though I don't really get why you asked me to come all the way down here to this secluded part of the ship just to say that. You had me scared for a sec, I thought I was in trouble or somethin'.
Robin: ... No... As in I have FEELINGS for you, Franky.
Franky: ... What Feelings?
Robin: oh god

Robin, face buried in one of her hands: ... Romantic ones.

Franky turns around, as if looking for who she's talking to, before turning back to the camera and pointing at his own face, eyes wide.

Robin nods.

Robin: I've been wanting to tell you for a while now, but there never seemed to be a perfect moment.
We spend a lot of time together and that time... Well, it's nice. I like it. I know you do too. So I was thinking that maybe... Uh... Franky?

Franky, pausing a significant amount of mental processing:
Aw man... Well, I'm really flattered, But...
I'm really sorry Robin... But I can't say I feel the same way.

Robin, staring at the floor stock still, before looking up with a bright smile: I see. Well, that's a shame. I suppose it can't be helped.
It was wrong of me to make assumptions just because we've gotten close.

Franky: Uh...

Robin: I greatly cherish our friendship, so I hope you don't see me any differently.

Franky: Robin...?

Robin (walking backwards, leaving the room): We are adults after all and can handle this maturely. Don't worry about me. I'll see you at dinner!

Franky: W-Wait! Robin!!

In Franky's mind: SHE'S SUPER UPSET.

Hrrrrmmmmm okkaaaay soooooo

this is a sketch comic i drew last year (November 2023) shortly after finishing Ennie's Lobby and starting a new full time job. I didn't really write a script for it and i finished it in 2 weeks... this is completely unedited and just how i made it a year ago (lol rip good luck)

when i tell you i have never responded to anything more passionately in my life that is the truth... idk i fell into a coma or something, it was crazy

there are some things about this that I think are quite nice, which is why I'm sharing it!!! But also please note that it also deserves a good helping of "HE WOULD NOT F***ING SAY THAT" and i understand that 😂 i hope you are able to enjoy it anyway, i said what i said

I'll go through and link all the parts appropriately and work on the alt text once they're uploaded, please be nice to me :0 Read from left to right!

Various shots of Franky trying to go about his day as normal while continuing to process the conversation from the previous day. A sleepless night staring up at the ceiling, *AOL start up noise* at breakfast, working on this ship while Ussop in the BG says "Uh... Franky?".

We end on a shot of him repairing the mast of the Sunny, wall eyed, processing.

He pauses suddenly, and slowly turns to look over his shoulder at Robin who is reading on the deck serenely, as if nothing had happened. Clicks and whirs fill the air as things slide into focus. He glances at her mouth.

She looks up from her book, and they make eye contact. The clicks and whirs solidify into a "KACHUNK" as Franky BLUSHES LOUDLY

After a breathless beat, Franky turns back to his work hurriedly, breaking the eye contact. Robin, looking tired, shuts her book, gets up, and leaves. She thinks: "I was afraid this would happen"

Franky pauses in his work as Robin leaves, hammer raised in the air. He leans forwards, forearms resting on the mast in front of him, face hidden. "Oh." He thinks, as he stares at the ground, heartbeat thudding in his ears.

A quiet series of shots, labeled "Later".
Franky washes his face in the bathroom. As he raises his face from the sink basin, he looks at himself in the mirror. He examines his appearance, turning his chin this way and that, ruffling his pompadour, and playfully tapping his metal nose with a smile. He likes what he sees.

A beat: He looks down at one of his hands, the one with a small circular window that functions as a machine gun scope.
He stares at it for a minute before pinching the bridge of his nose and meeting his own eyes in the mirror again.

We cut to a quiet shot of Robin, who is in her quarters alone, writing something. Something is shoved under the door and she turns to look. She walks across the room and picks it up... A small note that says
"Talk? Crow's nest, 9pm ⭐" It is signed with a star.
We see a close up side shot of her eye. She looks a little pained but the expression is unreadable.

8:55, a shot of the crow's nest.

We see a shot of Franky's lower half, sitting cross-legged, cola gripped in one of his hands, other placed on his knee, which is bouncing a mile a minute.

A voice from offscreen: Fancy seeing you here.

He turns to look up; He's wearing sunglasses despite the darkness.

Robin: A little dark for sunglasses, don't you think?

Franky, grinning and raising them to his forehead: Heh. Glad you made it. Pop a squat.

Franky, offering a glass of wine from a bottle he produces: Thirsty?

Robin, nonchalantly: My, how thoughtful.

Franky takes a sip of his preferred cola as Robin enjoys the scent of the wine. He looks at her as she does.

Franky: ... Why do you like me?

Robin Spittakes.

Robin stares at him surprised, rubbing her chin dry.

Franky looks back at her very seriously before turning.

Franky: You don't gotta tell me if you don't wanna.

Robin: No... It's fine. Hmmmm....

We cut to a shot of a massive door opening.

Robin: Back at Ennie's lobby....
