The devastating difference between how much time it takes to write something vs how fast people read it lol
I've heard someone say kim dokja's ■■ parallels his name first introduced in the novel. I cant remember who anymore, or what exactly they wrote, but I do have some ideas of my own:
"Kim Dokja": an only child "Kim Dokja": a reader. His ■■ consists of two: Eternity and Epilogue.
Eternity, where he gets to be a lonely child in a subway. He is forever on this subway, forever strong; independent; self sufficient. He is the 'only child'.
And on this subway, he gets to spectate and see what every reader longs to see at the end of a beloved story: the characters live happily after years of tragedy, settling down as they maintain their found family dynamics for the rest of their lives. He is the 'reader'.
Epilogue, where this time, instead of watching the characters leave him to his own cold world, he goes on towards this new ending with them. He is no longer the 'reader', but instead a 'character' in the story with all the people he has ever loved. He has a new family now, one with his two lovely mothers, a dependable older brother to lean on (swk), not to mention the entirety of kim com & the other occasional constellations there to fill up their big house with chatter and laughter and warmth. He is definitely no longer an 'only child'.
To become 49% percent is to become someone who is neither a reader, nor an only child. To become 49% is to no longer be "Kim Dokja".
Ques 4,9 and 14 for orv ask game ^^
4: lee seolhwa and kim dokja. I love lsh so so much you dont understand. she studies kdj with a magnifying glass like hes an insect she keeps in her glass jar... what can i say. women in stem 💗 kdj is never really seen to accept her, individually, as a real person outside the narrative he’s put her in. sure, he gets character development, he no longer sees his companions as mere representations of the text he’s read, but in the end we never got much of an interaction between them acknowledging all of this :( I NEED to get lsh closure. I need her to know that kdj doesnt think of her as just yjh’s dead wife anymore. at least i hope he doesnt. lsh has soo so much potential as a character imo. theres so much to explore. her, staying behind at the industrial complex’s hospital, thinking her work will never be acknowledged by the person that saved her just because she’s not at the front lines in every scenario….. lee seolhwa i will always love you. i would punch kim dokja in the face for you. 9. kim dokja ❤️ mainly because: he's the main character, we see from his perspective, pretty much everyone likes him. as a result i get to see so many different kim dokjas based on everyone's headcannons... this is what i love!!!!!! sometimes he looks like a twink. sometimes he looks like an solo leveling ass ikemen mc. sometimes he looks like a dead wife. sometimes he is composed of 4 consecutive lines in artwork. this is it, i think. the peak fandom experience i think he's just really. easy to draw. you dont really have to have any expectations of yourself to fulfill when you try to draw him. he turned out to be ugly? so in character! he turned out to be beautiful? so in character! turned out to be the most average man in existence? so in character. no matter the headcannons, no matter how different everyone views this story, there is still one thing we all have in common. we love this guy. as for 14. ...im not sure. this is like asking to choose a favourite between my children. but i think Good and Evil will always have a special place in my heart. hsy will always paint herself as the villain, yjh will always choose to be good. kim dokja will always be the [demon king] of [salvation]. loved the duet of good and evil, loved orv big bang and the separation of good and evil.
made my little guys on this picrew
its built into their character, who they are as people. they are made of love. for kim dokja to not have split into 49/51, he would have to Not Be kim dokja. for yoo joonghyuk to give up on kdj, gain closure and move on with his life easily, he would have to Not Be yoo joonghyuk. its not mentioned in the screenshot, but han sooyoung is the same. for hsy to not have written twsa, to not have written orv; she would have to someone, anyone other than han sooyoung. as herself she will always have this stubborn kindness in her heart. her monstrous huge heart!!! capable of giving all of the world's love and more!!!!!
thinking about this
they both tried so hard. kim dokja would never sacrifice himself again, but he did. yoo joonghyuk would never regress again, but he did. something something orpheus will always look back for eurydice...

You were supposed to save him, you were made to save him
[ID: Black and white Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint fanart of Han Sooyoung and Yoo Joonghyuk. Sooyoung is shouting at Joonghyuk, who is sinking against her with one hand at her shoulder as she holds him by the collar. Sooyoung looks pained and angry, and she's crying. Joonghyuk's face is lowered and obscured by his collar. End ID] (Thank you to @/princess-of-purple-prose for writing it!)
kim dokja would be an invisible child in moominvalley btw
Sometimes when people say they ship plotja the dynamic they actually mean is 1863 doksoo
oh my god??? i need everyone to please watch this orv animatic it fits the epilogue's themes & yhk dynamics so well. in case the link doesnt work, the animatic is named 3rd planet by evelina dodge on youtube.
healing changes your mind just as much as ptsd does, it becomes a permanent part of you over time; maybe this is why a lot of people feel that they cant ever completely get over orv. it’s healed many in times of need; especially since orv was written to be a action filled isekai adventure that most people only read to block out their emotions, at their worst
made an animated ORV mv, please enjoy!
Yoo Joonghyuk being broken by everything having gone so well. It's never explicitly stated, but it's very heavily implied that someone always dies from Yoo Joonghyuk's team by the time the Seoul Dome is broken. Either that, or something terrible in general happens (Seoul being wrecked, etc).
In Kim Dokja's round, he had everyone. They were alive. Nobody was seriously hurt. Everything was going so well. This man who appeared in this round only was creating miracles, even if Yoo Joonghyuk doesn't like the self-sacrificing stuff (because he's realized he's come to care about Kim Dokja a lot. Enough so that he doesn't want to have to continue the scenarios without him, and the only reason he's willing to do so is because Kim Dokja told him that he had to. And Yoo Joonghyuk is good about following through on what his companions ask of him, even if he pretends he won't, and that's putting aside how deeply Kim Dokja's words impacted him) but Kim Dokja's actions had created the best story for them yet.
And then, seemingly at random, the Outer God descends and destroys everything and everyone.
It's like an unfair glitch in a game destroying all of your progress. Everything you had worked for, gone in an instant. But it's worse because he loved and cared for all of them. And the final straw was his worst fear coming true: Kim Dokja does not exist in this round. He doesn't exist in the next one either. He can't find him, and he can't do the things that Kim Dokja did. He never knew the man's plan. He lost his guiding star. Kim Dokja was the one person who had understood him, and that was someone he had been looking for for so long. Between the two things, he was broken, and desperate, and made many, many more mistakes than he would have.
It's a bad ending, plain and simple. And though the story doesn't say it, end game readers who understand the context also know that that Yoo Joonghyuk would be doomed to never reaching the end of the story and never getting the answers he wants. Because the man who had the key to reaching the epilogue was taken away by the cruel twist of the Star Stream.
they were supposed to match
[ID: An Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint comic. Yoo Joonghyuk and Han Sooyoung are standing together, both looking angrily in the same direction. Joonghyuk has little pigtails and a trans coloured scrunchie. He’s wearing a t shirt over his coat that says “I (Heart) My Bisexual… Wife + Husband”. Some text is cut off by his crossed arms, and the heart is the bi flag colours. Sooyoung is shouting with angry disbelief, wearing a matching t shirt that says “I (Heart) My Bisexual War Criminal Husbands” and a trans-coloured sweatshirt around her waist.
Kim Dokja is shown laughing like he’s pleased with himself. Action lines radiate off him, showing off that he’s wearing his usual coat with a shirt that says “Ally” and has the ally flag. End ID.]
least kdj kinnie orv reader: i will pull up the orv ebook during an upsetting and awkward moment to cope with the situation at hand (i dont have wifi). i will pull up my most sentimental chapter. i will scroll furiously while trying to get sucked in so i don't need to think. hm? i resemble who? nahhhhh
still so proud of this one im so funny [ID in alt!]
another time kdj perfectly reflects the very villains he fights against
ok so WHAT IF. sp reads od bedtime stories every night before bed
where could he run to? its not like he has a warm home to escape to. its not like he has a life to look forward to, so its better that he dies anyway. wouldn't he be doing a favour to his younger self? wont it be a kind of, salvation?
Ok, this is maybe the last one of the added doksoo scenes in the ebook. So KDJ tried to write one which LHS finds okay but according to YJH it sucks. So KDJ asks YJH to write next time since he's a lot of experience...That's what I got to know from the korean readers. And the contents of the letter are like this....
Now their conversation at the end of this arc sounds like an answer to his letter >.<
Aaaaand also the last line of ORV...
