Clockwork is doing his time ghost stuff in his lair when Batman suddenly appears, scaring the shit out of him.

Clockwork stared at a timeline, one in particular where his children workers were in a bit of a bind. He'd have to carefully warn Danny and watch over them a little more this week until this danger passed...

"Are you Clockwork?"

Clockwork did not flinch because that was impossible, even though his minute and hour hands spasmed from the shock.

He had foreseen this! How was he still surprised? And how on earth did a human sneak up on a ghost?

He turned. "Batman. I see you've found my lair. Did one of my... one of their highnesses show you the way?"

Batman tilted his head. He moved closer to him, his cape moving silently along with him.

Truly, Batman almost seemed more ghost than even him.

"Are you Clockwork?" He asked again.

Clockwork gave a nod. "That is I. What have you come here for?"

He knew what Batman was going to say or do.

Batman gave a curt shake of his head. "Nothing. I just wanted to confirm that I was given the right directions. Good day."

Clockwork watched him turn around and walk away, steps silent as ever. The very second he blinked, Batman was gone.

Clockwork stared at the spot where Batman had gone. He could still sense him in his lair, only faintly, but the quickness at which he acted was truly inhuman.

Clockwork clicked his tongue.

Why did his children employees befriend such strange individuals?

City Spirits Danny and Jazz (click for clarity)

I’ve been wanting to draw them as city spirits for awhile now, and since my final exams are nearing close, this is my reward to you guys before my classes take over my life 😃

I’m also planning for one for Dan and Dani, but I can’t decide what I want for Dani and someone suggested Arkham for Dan?? You’re so smart, but ooooh, I also want Dan as a Bludhaven spirit so bad orz can someone please help me decide omg

Notes:

+ Both Danny and Jazz have Martha’s pearls due to the fact that her death (and Thomas’ ig) is what created Batman and also Crime Alley. Jazz’s pearls are bloody due to that reason.

+ Both dress very formally and in kinda old fashioned clothing as city spirits, but when they mingle with Gotham City as civilians, both dress normally.

+ Danny focuses on helping both the citizens and the heroes as Gotham City’s spirit, but Jazz focuses mainly on Crime Alley. She can, however, move away from the place and go elsewhere, just not for long like Danny.

+ Danny’s veil is both a symbol of his death (a death shroud) and a symbol of Gotham (the black represents the corruption, the stars represent the wonder and good that can be found within the city). Jazz’s blindfold is both a symbol of death and justice, since death comes for all and justice does not discriminate.

+ I forgot to mention that I borrowed the cape knot for Danny’s tie from @aealzx lmao, your redrawing of mine was genius!

Or what if the Phantom siblings were cursed into pets and the Batkids found them.

Jazz is a borzoi/Russian wolfhound, Dan is a Turkish boz shepherd, Danny is a Turkish angora, and Dani is a calico cat. When the Dannies transform, Dan’s colors get inverted, Danny is a tuxedo cat, and Dani’s fur turns full black.
