I just realised I forgot to cross post on Tumblr, so here it is!! a paedyn/kai canon divergence fic :))

so I saw this general opinion that kitt asked pae to be his wife to punish Kai or something and it's huh???

while reading I didn't think kitt meant it in that way at all.

like we see how against the idea he was previously, but he still did it. he asked Kai in the throne room, and Kai said no. maybe kitt should have been able to see that he was lying, but who knows? I guess that made kitt finally submit to the idea

because at the end of the day.

1. they are brothers and they care about each other. if Kai doesn't see pae that way anymore, then he thinks the wedding isn't all that bad. plus, he may have thought that, the fact that Kai didn't let her go and actually bring her to him meant he was fine with whatever punishment he could have had for her

2. realistically speaking, it could have been his compassion. maybe he didn't want pae to die. he asked Kai to bring her to him when he was grief stricken, but he also changed his request to her being alive. maybe that speaks volumes about the fact that, maybe, just maybe, the control his father had over him was loosening. like obviously his father would have wanted kitt to execute pae, but he didn't do that

in conclusion, kitt isn't all that bad

or maybe it's my thing for blonds peeking out, leading me to look for crumbs (AARON WARNER WHEN I CATCH YOU-)

Oh god wait I need to share this now after Reckless.

Obviously RECKLESS SPOILERS so if you haven't finished the book than don't go ahead. Or go if you want idk.

I have always had this Kaidyn (yes I'm using this ship name because it's perfect) headcanon.

Imagine a scenario where Kai gets heavily injured (in my head he jumped in front of a sword meant to pierce Paedyn etc) and he's bedridden for days and Peadyn stays by his bedside waiting for him to get up.

And I always imagined Paedyn holding onto Kai's hand and kissing them. Kissing the top of his hand, his knuckles, the palm of his hand or just his fingers. Just she always kisses his hand.

Now when I was playing around with this headcanon I was thinking that, since Kai always talks about his hands being drenched with blood of the lives he had taken, this would be a way for Paedyn to show her forgiveness for Kai and how she cherishes every part of him, even the hands he sees as nothing more than tools for delivering death.

BUT NOW WITH NEWFOUND INFORMATION FROM RECKLESS EVERYTHING CHANGES!

Because now, imagine the exact same scenario but Paedyn is kissing Kai's thumb. She's kissing his thumbs, the same thing he used to do to his little sister to make her feel more powerful, the same thing he did to Paedyn to try to give her strength during her toughest moments, and she's doing the same thing because she wants to give him her strength so he can wake up. Kissing his thumb because he's always been the one to give his strength with those thumb kisses and now he needs that strength back.

And for bonus hurting points, imagine Kitt witnessing this moment. Kitt seeing the woman he's forcing to marry him as revenge, the woman his brother loves to the point of dying for her without a second thought and the woman who has not strayed from his brother's unmoving body for days now, doing the exact same thing his brother used to do to their little sister.

He knows the meaning of the act and he not only realises how much of his heart and soul Kai has opened up to Paedyn but also how badly she needs to see him wake up, to the point she's relying on tricks for children that hold no real power. Because she can't transfer her strength to him by kissing his thumb, but she's desperate enough, hurting enough to try it.

oh shit legit what I was thinking while reading the first book xDD

if i had a nickel everytime i read a romantasy book about a poor girl from the streets who got picked to participate in a trial between rich kids with superpowers, while having to live at the palace where the two brothers fell in love with her before she betrayed them and ran away, i'd have two nickels.

"You are to be my bride."

ive just finished with the 1st book powerless in the series and i have to say.....

huge parallels in the first book of both powerless and the red queen series

like I'm not sure if that's common knowledge (I am NOT scrolling through the Tumblr tag, I don't wanna be spoiled like I did on a character death :C), so please lmk

Powerless Saiki is so funny to me because. he has no self preservation??? As much as he hates his powers, Saiki is still very reliant on them, and is very much used to pulling the craziest stunts with them

And it makes me wonder just how worried he made his friends during those few days he was powerless. I just know his ass tried crossing the road without looking 💀

Okay, Op, Hey Op, i see you. I see you so much but i raise you this.

His friends are already used to this weirdness with him. They know that Saiki sometimes never looks where he's going and just plan to subtley look out. And the one time he almost gets hit, it's the nonchalant gripping of his jacket like "Wait a moment." And then move on.

Saiki does a random ass pose, well- that's just Saiki being Saiki. He's got his lil drama in him.

Saiki looks like he's trying to kill them with his mind? Well, that's just him.

Admittedly, him being jumpy is definitely a new thing. But i love the thought that they just think that he can't fucking *see*. My Boy is suddenly without his glasses, he MUST be blind and people are startling the shit out of him.

Like imagine the announcements they make trying so hard to not scare him, so it's loud movements and *Hey!* from a distance so Saiki can turn to them.

"i didn't think your green glasses were prescribed. But i was wrong, sorry saiki :(."

"Hey Partner, how many fingers am i holding up?"

"He can still tell out Shapes Nendou, don't be rude!"

I personally think that, Saiki realizes in that moment how normal his friends treat him, with and without powers. And all theyre doing is accomodating the best they can.

If Saiki were a more impulsive person when it comes to opening up about himself, he absolutely would have told them then and there. But alas, he's a ball of anxiety masking behind the edge of godhood, so instead he's gonna get enotional and wanna run away for a bit.
