Your gateway to endless inspiration
I feel like, since Obi-Wan is such a beloved character, he kind of gets put on this pedestal by a lot of the fan base and, as a result, Anakin tends to get shafted. People don’t seem to understand how Anakin’s fall really works, there always seems to be just the most superficial understanding of how his Turn happened. No one seems to want to think about it, but Obi-Wan had a pretty big role in Anakin’s Fall, actually.
Because, here’s the thing, Obi-Wan is a good Jedi, and a good friend, it’s clear he loves Anakin, but he is not a good teacher. And Anakin suffered for it.
Anakin is exceptionally skilled at the physical aspects of using the Force and being a Jedi, but when it comes to understanding their core tenants and philosophies, he’s detached. Obi-Wan failed to make Anakin feel at home with the Jedi, likely imitating his own training and that of others with limited thought to how Anakin’s background as a slave might change his perspective on these teachings.
Of course, part of the problem is that the Jedi Code is terribly flawed but that just exacerbates the problem. Obi-Wan is a negative enforcement type of teacher, he critiques Anakin’s actions and scolds him far more than he gives positive feedback and validation that Anakin desperately needs. So Anakin has to get that validation elsewhere, namely from Palpatine. Who on top of the regular kind of grooming and gaslighting, also has probably been spreading a miasma of Darkness around him, encouraging Anakin’s worse thoughts and feelings.
Then, of course, there’s what happened with Shmi, I’m of the opinion that Anakin’s visions, both with Shmi and then Padme, were planted by Palpatine. He showed no other signs of having any kind of prophetic abilities outside those two situations. Actually Palpatine is probably behind Shmi’s death all together, it’s just a little too convenient.
But those machinations don’t change how Obi-Wan was completely dismissive of Anakin’s fears and that led to drastic consequences. Obi-Wan as Anakin’s teacher was a terrible idea, why the Council though a recently knighted and traumatized young man would be the perfect caretaker for a recently freed slave kid is beyond me. It’s like they were setting him up to fail.
As for the actual Fall itself, another headcannon of mine is that Anakin was probably exhausted, he’d been on nonstop campaigns in the war for who knows how long, had been having constant nightmares that left him unable to sleep through the night, had most of his support base taken away except the corrupt one and another who had her own issues keeping her busy, and on top of that was under a ton of stress from being torn between Palpatine and the Jedi Council, Palpatine timed the whole thing just right to get the results he wanted. Unsurprising seeing as he managed to play both sides of the War. By the end Anakin was probably clinging to the Light by his fingertips.
My aesthetic is Padme Amidala's concept art
You can turn 1 of your headcanons into canon in any media. What do you choose?
Ahsoka can’t stand to look at Luke. She’ll never tell him this. It doesn’t make sense for her, a Jedi, to resent him. He saved the galaxy. He brought back Vader. He’s Skyboy, he’s her not-really-nephew. And yes, she loves him and wishes the best for him. How could she not? Yet, every time she looks at him she can only think about how he saved Anakin. About how this stranger that her master never knew meant more than his apprentice, than his sister, than her. What did she do wrong to make Anakin shove her away? Was it her fault? What’s wrong with her. How can she make it better? But in the end it’s all the past, and anguish and anger will only get her so far.
So she smiles at him because yes, she loves him. How could she not? He saved Anakin. He saved Anakin because she couldn’t.
also the acolyte isnt cannon
“ commander, with all due respect. If after this is over, the general won’t kill you, I will. ” It’s babysitter Rex. With the wrong phase helmet cuse I like his amore phase 2 more. Sue me.

Coruscant | The Jedi Temple, for @rochester-born‘s ask, what I like about the Jedi:
I love the Jedi Aesthetic, the blend of space fantasy modern technology with something ancient and spiritual. I love how beautiful the Jedi Temple is, how grand and sweeping it is, while being warm and filling, that you can very nearly feel the hum of the living Force within it, you can very nearly feel the shimmer of the stars echoing softly when Jedi listen to them. I love that it’s huge, but it’s also full of Yoda playfully teaching the younglings and cutely teasing Obi-Wan about having ~lost a planet. I love the Great Jedi Tree in its place of honor, I love the soaring heights of the Grand Hall with its warm sunlight streaming in, I love the epic hallways that blend something ancient with something immediate, all that light streaming in and looking out over the bustling city. I love the massive Archives that are quiet but still thrum with life and learning. I love the giant doorways that show the Jedi’s heritage and blend it together with advanced tech. I love glowing star maps that spin with beautiful light and stained glass windows that glow in the middle of the day. I love the cool blue light of the holocrons, so much knowledge and history waiting there, so soothing and gentle in their hum and glow. A thousand years and more of learning, ready to teach it to the next generation, for them to learn more and understand another smidgen about the Force to add to their greater understanding. The Jedi and their culture are gorgeous, look at all the beauty that’s there! Look at what a thousand years of their traditions and history have given them.
I’m rewatching the prequels and I love these three so much
there are some close-ups under the cut btw ↓

Another Star Wars sketch! As soon as my friend said “low light” for the next prompt my mind immediately sprang to those martial arts movies where they train against the setting sun. And because I’m still drawing all things Obi-Wan, this happened. With Obi-Wan being a practitioner of the Alchaka meditations (as written in the Wild Space novel), I figured it’s something he’d pass on to Anakin. So here we have Anakin in the background, sort of spastic still, and Obi-Wan standing on one hand with the ease that comes with years of training.
if anakin didnt fall to the darkside, he would be that dad embrassing his kids and teliing embrassing stories about their childhood to Din and Han if he ever ends up accepting him
which is even more fun when u remember the skywalkers are the three most powerful force users in the galaxy

Anakin looking up at future Ahsoka: Ah, okay no I get it now. I see what you were talking about Obi-Wan: So you'll be sorry for rubbing it in my face that you're taller than me? Anakin, with a wide grin: What? No! Now there are TWO of us taller than you! Obi-Wan: I should have joined Dooku when he asked

a quick art of Padme Amidala (Preview. Full art is available on my Patreon) Sorry to be so inactive this week, but I haven't had much time to bring new content What other characters should I draw? I was thinking about Ellie from TLOU ;)
crosshair and anakin would be smoking buddies :) modern au!
The reverence Luke has for his first lightsaber is so funny in retrospect, as if that wasn't his father's twenty-seventh lightsaber after breaking or losing all the ones before (we won't even get into the fact it's also the Youngling Slayer 9000), and kept it safe for over three years as his most sacred object.
Meanwhile, Anakin is just:
padme body horror is supreme bc when you think about it, her very existence requires constant agony. in real life that red invasion gown took several weeks to build. and the costumes were so uncomfortable that kiera knightly, who was sabe for like 2 seconds, cried every night while filming. the main way natalie portman describes her prequels costumes is “painful” . and sure “beautiful” usually follows but dude. imagine being 14 and in constant pain bc your job requires you be pretty as possible while defending your planet from fucking invasion. i can’t imagine how estranged i’d feel from my own body and sense of self in that moment. you can take that (already extreme) rigor over the body to all kinds of violent ends. possession. some sort of creature. self-mutilation. fic writes itself tbh!

It's a bad idea to try outsmug Obi-Wan.
(but also if main characters in opera have A Passion, it won't end good for at least for one of them)
best scene in the prequels is when anakin and padme have just landed on naboo & padme goes “hmm being a childqueen might’ve fucked me up a bit” and anakin, former 9yo slave separated from his mom, confronted for perhaps the first time with the idea that childhood trauma effects you later in life, goes “nuh uh”
This frame from the Clone Wars episode “Senate Murders” is gold.
“We heard you talking shit.”
