Oh... it's a little traumatized actually-

In the depths of an old city, atop the corpse of a god long since fallen, many buildings still stand as remnants of what was once there. Lights still pulse with energy, illuminating displays of shattered glass and rotting products. Many of the rooms that were once shops or homes have been stripped of their life and then their value, now left to collect dust. Those who choose to wander into the labyrinth-like metropolis may never find their way out.

So, I've been trying to flesh out more of the lore around my TSPUD/rain world au (I really need to figure out a name for this) through art, but I'm thinking about just dropping a bunch of text posts to those who'll listen. I'm going to start counting all these guys as ocs since they cut SOOO far away from TSP. But anyways! The Restless and The Curious out and exploring an ancient city! Hopefully I'll get some more posts out with these guys soon, because it's SUPER fun to do these backgrounds.

Another iterator made by yours truly! Her nickname is Moth and the outfit is DEFINITELY going to be redesigned in the future, but for now she has a horrid little dress <3 Her can is completely overgrown with plant life and many of the creatures have taken on fungal parasites, including some of her very own overseers. Her puppet is completely blind, so she relies heavily on her overseers and her own hearing to react to her surroundings. She's open for asks as well!

This is a masterpost for a group oc project where anyone can make and add a slugcat to become a part of this collab colony!

The idea is that you can reblog this post or send a submission to me with your slugcat design for this colony and we as a community can slowly build lore together!

Some basic info about this colonies region:

Over many cycles this land has used the rain to outgrow it's previous structures and has turned into something akin to a jungle, mangrove forest or swamp.

deep beneath the abundance of wildlife however, you can enocunter the remains of the ancients cities long before the iterators, and the structures they built afterwards. who knows if anything down there still works, but it could be worth a shot.

iterators are as per usual scattered around! i have no plans for any named ones currently but if you don't want to submit a slugcat, you may submit an iterator instead!

this is a spreadsheet I'm going to be updating with info on every slugcat submitted, so you know who created what

Truth be told, you don't even have to follow any of the basic lore i just gave you there! this is a group project you're free to add as you please so long as it doesn't dimish others work.

you could make your slugcat anything at all and they'll be welcome into the collab colony same as all the rest, so be creative with it! have some fun!

Some basic rules:

Please be kind and respectful of others, as is expected of you in any collaborative space.

Always ask permission! whether it's asking permission for your slugcats to interact or permission to use art someone else has made for the colony. please always ask permission unless you already know the person closely enough to know they'd be okay with it!

BE SFW. this is no surprise but i feel it must be stated anyways. if you act inappropriately you will be blocked.

as long as you follow these three easy rules you're free to participate as much as you want.

Eh, I’ve had this guy lying around in my sketchbook for a while with no plans for what to do with ‘em- plus I didn’t see anyone else submit an Iterator yet, so why not!

This is Acts of Kindness, or AOK (pun intended). An iterator on their last legs who, by all means, should be dead or catatonic by now- were it not for a small tribe of scavengers who either grew fond of them and/or like to use them as a movie projector- depending on how you look at it. They filled the chamber with pearls for Acts to read and their Overseers to project visuals- an activity that the scavengers quite enjoy. Besides pearls, they do give Acts gifts from time to time- most notably their patched together clothes and some neuron flies (to this day Acts is not sure where they got the them and is mildly concerned) but Acts is just grateful for the odd situation they’ve found themselves in, naming themself after that which keeps them here, and speaks kindly to their new friends (even though few to none of them actually understand what they’re saying)

Their overseers are notably very protective of Acts, and that extends to those who treat them well. They were the ones who more or less negotiated the scavengers into bringing Acts clothes/neurons, and they occasionally go out alongside a scavenger to guide them to some pearls, items for Acts, or just to keep an eye out for ‘em.

I am not sure what their gender is. I’ll figure it out eventually- probably. And maybe draw them digitally with color n’ all- apologies I’m moving around a lot today and don’t know when I’ll have time to sit down and draw- so just a sketchbook pic for now!

Some proper ref for my slugcat OC- The Dullahan (asw as a Rainworld style test). This was fun

She has the delightful ability to launch her own head off upon taking a lethal amount of damage, leaving her body to release pheremones that attract other predators to it. Creates a great diversion for her to get out of dodge- even if it leaves her with no limbs for a bit.

Silly for day 2 of Funguary 2024: lilac coral fungus!

This guy is Zolli (he/him, one/ones), who has uhh funny symbiotic fungus. The fungus makes little weird fruits as it processes environmental toxins; the fruits are a way to store extra energy and are nutritious :]

Behold! Vanilla Camo lizard cookie! They are a combination of my 2 favorite games, Cookie run and Rainworld.

Vanilla Camo is an Ambush type cookie with Abilities similar to the White lizard, using their camouflage to sneak up on a random cookie and attacked them.

Vanilla camo was once a normal white lizard among the sky islands until they were accidentally dragged from their world via magical portal opening to the Parfaedia Institute from a reckless student attempting to see if traveling to entirely different worlds with magic. Well.. it worked but it had brought this while lizard with it's success. Having been given sudden exposure to cookie magic, it had transformed this lizard into a cookie!! Vanilla Camo is kept at the Parfaedia Institute for study purposes and is currently being taught how to communicate and live properly within cookie society.

This is Pokey!!

Pokey was but one of few test subjects from an Iterator that attempted to recreate Seven Sun's Creation " Spearmaster" with some of their own changes, their headset is attached to their head and acts like a translator/ tracking device. This little pup has somehow gotten out of their creator's facility and wandered into a Slugcat colony. They can breathe underwater and create spears like Spearmaster, they can slam down on predators like Gourmand but with less damage because they are still a small pup.. which is why they semi form themselves spears on themselves and dive on their enemies back first instead!! This damages their foes and stuns them for a bit. They tried to show their idol their trick once... it didn't go well.

I haven't done a strictly rain world post in a bit, so lets fix that! I decided to 3D model an iterator OC of mine, as I recently updated her design! meet Burning Stars! [again.] [I didn't know how I'd model her poncho, so I apologize for you seeing a shirtless lesbian of an iterator, you might've also seen this in the rain world discord server, if so, hello!] Bonus images underneath.

Information on the slugcats seen here: Sunseeker is Burning Stars' messenger, small, weak and frail, similar to Saint, but with the ability to blind others with those crystals on their back if in direct sunlight. [or impale creatures on them if they accidentally land on them from a long fall.] Meanwhile the unnamed one is a common visitor to Burning Stars' can, a powerhouse of a slugcat, often seen around coalescipedes due to the fact that they can join in the formation, and even control them.

Here's the drawing I mentioned earlier, with three out of the four in my OCs local group! [we don't ask about the fourth member.] For things to be easier to understand. Roaring Flames, Flowing Lava is the red iterator with orange and yellow accents, wearing mainly black. Chaotic Invertebrate is the white iterator with yellow and blue accents, wearing mainly green. One Lemon, No Ice is the yellow iterator with white[?] and orange accents, they wear mainly blue.

Have some rot, I don't know why I drew this, but who cares. [The slugcat in the image is my slugsona! they have no proper name though.]

Say hi to Barry! or The Worker! he's just a funny little guy, I absolutely love Terraria and Lethal Company, along with Rain World, I may have never played Lethal Company, but I hope to get it one day, but for now, watching clips of people screaming in that game is what I'll settle with, I think Barry would be able to trade with Lootbugs! and they'd probably be immune to Bracken due to their uh.. lack of a neck. They'd be slightly faster than the average worker, but cannot speak by normal means, they can get food by standing in the sun, the containers on their back have CO2 and water, due to the plant they have. So yeah! sorry about the rant, have a nice day! [They are inspired by the Floret Protector vanity set, as seen on the first image, the red flower was just replaced with a karma flower]

Say hello to the Prosaic, or Pancake, they are the slugcat for a region concept me and a friend are making, as their nickname suggests, they can go flat, just like a pancake, they are too fat to glide [they couldn't glide anyways, it was never planned], they can wrap around poles and trees like the wrap-around spider, it is faster when crawling [I mean.. look at those legs], it can climb walls due to being stickier than it's relatives, they can also swim well, they have two extra food pips than hunter [7 to hibernate, 4 stored], so yeah! :D [Btw, their texture is similar to an otter or ferret, their main inspo was Paldean Clodsire]
